Welcome, Leaf! It sounds as though you have your hands full with three little ones and a husband. Hopefully, all is going smoothly, or should I say as smoothly as possible. My cousin is in the Army. Not the easiest of times. He decided years ago, when the political climate was calm, that he would make a career of it. Well I hope u join in on the many faith building conversations. Theology / Debate / Re:Dealing with non-believers

The first page of the test was a fairly simple question which was worth 5 points. Both of the students answered it perfectly, and were sure the test would be easy. As they turned the second page they read “Question 2 (95 Points): Which Tire?”.
What if they got it right? That wouldn't be very fair to the other students. There is a 25% chance they'll get it right... plus, we also have to factor in the possibility that they may have talked about their story before-hand and picked which tire "went flat". The teacher's methods seem rather flawed. Thanks for your thoughts. To some extent, I believe you have a valid point. The prof. was rather generous in even allowing them to take the test at a diff. time. Indeed, this, in and of itself is somewhat unfair to the other students. I have taken several multiple choice tests. Some fellow students didn't study, and thought it would be a breaze. They were often suprised about recieving a low grade. The story implies that they had not discussed the specifices of which tire. Rather, that the excuse to be given was just a flat tire. So, I believe the chances of them both picking the same time, when answering the test, would prob. be between nill to none. Thanks again for your input. Your Brother in Christ, Tony

I had to walk into town today (8 miles round trip,) it was raining and hailing. I got what I needed from the store and started back home. About half a mile from the store I asked God[/b] if he would stop the rain and hail long enough for me to get home. Guess what, it stopped raining and hailing. The moon came out and I had a light all the way home, (via full moon.) The whole trip took me five hours.
Praise God[/b] in the highest.
The reason my trip took so long you are wondering. I am physcially disabled.
Thank you for sharing Dreamweaver! What a wonderful testimony! God has stopped the rain for me on several occassions. Once my wippers on my automobile stopped working...a little prayer... and no rain!! Your brother in Christ, Tony

Sincereheart, Padded pews? Wow! Must be them thare rich churches! The seniors bring a cushion... I wonder if I can earn enough to at least supply groceries? I'll have to check into it! lol... I have set on both...(the padded and unpadded) not at the same time of course... Even the padded ones can become uncomfy... especially as the clock begins to hit the 12:30 mark!!! I can relate to the grocery thing... God does expect us to have our priorities! It is better to have a full stomach and tired tush, which will recover in due time...lol...

I joined my school choir purely and simply because, at Christmas, we got to sit in the choir stalls at church. This had two advantages: 1) We did not have to listen to the interminably long and boring sermon. 2) We could talk, and no one could hear us It was a coveted duty, the choir. Dry sermons... I have heard or should I say wish I had not heard of few of those...

My daughter had a flat tire on her way to school this morning - but there was air in the spare! Last Sunday in church (we had a lot of visitors) there were about 10 people who answered the alter call! (I guess that could be a little bigger than a small thing.) Wonderful blessings, indeed! It is wonderful how God can multi-task... Giving blessings around the globe... all at the same time... in His own way. Thanks for sharing... Your Brother in Christ, Tony

Prayer / Answered Prayer / Nothing is too small for God!!!

Nothing is too small for God! It is the human nature, I believe, to become consumed with those issues in life that we perceive as being “big” or “important”. In doing so, it is easy to miss the many blessings that God gives. Today for example, I had some free potato chips. It had been sooo long since I had eaten some potato chips. They were nothing fancy, just plain, salted chips. Yes, they were VERY good. Later, the same day I was given a Coke. Typically, I don’t drink pop. However, on occasion, I do get cravings for a little carbonated caffeine. Today, that craving was quenched. God does, and will, give us the desires of our heart. Let us allow God to answer our prayers in His time and enjoy all of the blessings He gives during the interim.
I just needed to do a little bragging on God, mixed with THANKFUlNESS.
What “little” things has God done in your life recently? All yes, if your breathing without the aid of a resperator... you may post an "Amen" to this thread!
Your Brother in Christ,
Tony

Sincereheart, …lol… Amen to the uncomfortable pews. I think God inspired a few men to build these. Knowing, as He does, that too much comfort would lend itself to sleep, which still happens on occasion even setting in the harder/less padded pews. I have heard of collections being taken up for missions, building funds, families going through crises… but never to quite a fellow Church member… You may be on to something though. It could be a good way to earn some extra cash on the side…lol

Entertainment / Movies / Re:The Passion of Christ is Rated R

The Passion of Christ is Rated R
The "R" of course is because of the violence, the gore. In movie terms "R" stands for RESTRICTED, but in this movie "R" stands for RELEVANT, for REALISTIC, for it REALLY happened for a REASON because we were REBELLIOUS we needed a REDEEMER, we needed to be RECONCILED, we needed to be RECOVERED, we needed to be REGENERATED. Jesus needed to be REJECTED so that we could have a RELATIONSHIP not just a RELIGION. The "R" is to REMIND us to REMEMBER what Jesus did to REMOVE our sin to RENDER Satan powerless, to RESCUE us from eternity in hell. The "R" rating is to show that Jesus was RESPONSIBLE for giving you REST. As a RESULT of his death Jesus RETIRED your debt. The "R" rating means that some will be REPULSED, some will REFUSE to believe, some will be RELUCTANT, some will think you are RIDICULOUS in believing that a death was REQUIRED. The "R" rating means that the RESULT of sin has been REVERSED and now through faith in Christ your REWARD is eternity and you are now RIGHTEOUS before God because you have RECEIVED him as the RULER of your soul. What a REVOLUTIONARY and RADICAL solution to REDEEM mankind
Love-in-Jesus,
Amen, Brother! Your Brother in Christ, Tony

Who besides me watches Veggie Tales?
Yep! Entertainment with a message! Quite popular with sunday school teachers. Gives young people a way to remember Biblically related teachings. How many Veggie Tales videos are out now? Close to 110? Your Brother in Christ, Tony
