1  Theology / General Theology / How do you answer? on: March 14, 2004, 01:44:31 PM
Mt 1:16
And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Now listen to the English here in Mt 1:16, Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus,...

Ah ha, Joseph a male, Mary a female, Joseph husband of Mary, Mary wife of Joseph. Jesus born of
Joseph and Mary as husband and wife. Ah ha!

But why is this NOT so? Just using Mt 1:16, tell me why this is NOT so?
2  Theology / General Theology / Re:Rom 4:25 on: March 10, 2004, 06:15:05 PM
"sins" vs. "failings"

The greek word in Rom 4:25 is "fail" not "sin"

That is my point.
3  Theology / General Theology / Re:Rom 4:25 on: March 10, 2004, 05:51:56 PM
Cheesy

The first one says "sins" and the second one says "failings".  Just because you failed at something doesn't mean you have "sinned".  That's the distinction I got from those translations.
Quote

SIN, TRESPASS, FAULT, LAWLESSNESS:

Hettema = Diminishing what should have been given full measure, also to suffer defeat or failure).
1 Cor 6:7, KJV = A fault.

Agnoema = Ignorance when one should have known.
Heb 9:7, KJV = Errors.

Paraptoma = Falling when one should have stood. (Unintentional slip) Second most frequent, used 23 times in the New Testament.
Col 2:13, KJV = Sins and Trespasses (paraptoma used twice in this passage, translated "sins" the first time and "trespasses" the second time).

            Parakoe = Disobey a voice.
2 Cor 10:6, KJV = Disobedience.

            Parabasis = Cross the line.
Gal 3:19, KJV = Transgressions.

Hamartia = Miss the mark. (And fail to receive the prize) By far the most frequent, used 174 times in the New Testament.

Rom 4:7 & 8, KJV = Sin, also "iniquities" = anomia.

Anomia, Paranomia = Breaking Gods laws, lawlessness.

1 John 3:4, KJV "lawlessness" = Anomia. Also "sin"in this verse = "Hamartia".

Adam did three things: 1.   Paraptoma = Falling when one should have stood. 2.  Parabasis = Cross the line.
3.   Parakoe = Disobey a voice.

I found in scripture that it took these three things to equal SIN,  Hamartia = Miss the mark.

My eyes are opened as never before.
4  Theology / General Theology / Rom 4:25 on: March 10, 2004, 04:38:10 PM
"Who was HANDED OVER because of  our sins
and RAISED UP for the sake of our being
made  righteous"  [Romans 4:25]

"He was delivered up to death to account for our failings.
He was raised up to life to account for our justification"

Since English is our native tongue, what distinctions do you
have when you read these two translations of Rom 4:25?

5  Theology / General Theology / Re:Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? on: March 09, 2004, 09:37:50 PM
Can someone today commit this sin? i'd say so. That's why i tend not to be too critical of any healings or miracles of good, as only a good tree can bear good fruit.

i hope this helps.

Gosh, Kosh,

You mean to say the Holy Spirit is NOT working today?

You mean to say You are a good tree without the Holy Spirit?

Gosh...
6  Theology / General Theology / Re:Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? on: March 09, 2004, 07:23:15 PM
Dear Bawilli,

(blasphemous behavior; the act of depriving something of its sacred character;

Mt 12:31 The blasphemous behavior by men of the Holy Spirit shall be not forgiven.
Spirit [pneu-ma, is the "result of action" by the Holy Spirit. Baptis-ma is the result of action by the Holy Spirit. Those who say, "water baptis-ma" are doing "blasphemous behavior."

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

1Tim 6:4
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, blasphemous behavior, evil surmisings,

Eph 4:31
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and blasphemous behavior, be put away from you, with all malice:

Jn 10:33
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemous behavior; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Mk 7:22
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemous behavior, pride, foolishness:

Mk 3:28
Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

Mt 15:19
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Mt 12:32
And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.
7  Theology / General Theology / -manship on: March 09, 2004, 02:44:49 PM
Koine Greek Suffix, -ma. Baptis-ma

Result Of Action: The result or effect of an action is expressed by the primary suffix, -ma.
(nom. -ma, neut.): gram-ma, thing written (graphO, I write), noE-ma, thought (noeO, I think), poiE-ma, poem (poieO, I make).

Baptis-ma, is [neuter gender.singular number.nominative case].

The "result of action" that God wanted in the flood was to save eight souls. Therefore, Peter writes, "saved [through[dia] water." Then Peter goes on to write, "Which antitype, baptisma, now saves us."

Baptis-ma is the "result of action" that I, [A. Repented, B. Believed, C. Been Baptized in the Name of my Lord, Christ Jesus, D. Received the gift of the Holy Spirit]. I am now a new creation in the Lord Jesus Christ.

PoiE-ma is the "result of action." Eph 2:10 For we are his [work-manship[poiE-ma], created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Workmanship mean, "A ship floats on water, a man works while on the ship". Work man ship. Boy, I got "water and works." That's better than water baptism.

"-manship, a combination of -man and -ship, used as an independent suffix with the meaning “skill in a particular activity, esp. of a competitive nature”: brinkmanship; grantsmanship; one-upmanship; sometimes compounded with a plural noun by analogy with craftsmanship, marksmanship, sportsmanship, etc."

Poetship, Poet-ship, n. The state or personality of a poet.

Do you like my definition of "workmanship"? This is YES or NO.

8  Theology / General Theology / Acts Speaks Out on: March 09, 2004, 11:01:14 AM
Juice of the orange = Orange juice. Baptism of repentance = Repentance baptism. Baptism of John = John's baptism. Baptism of water = Water baptism. John did not baptize those who came to him from the Pharisees.
Why? If it was "water baptism" they could get just as wet and anyone. Can you answer why John did not baptize those of the Pharisees? The book of Acts speaks!

Acts 19:4 Repentance Baptism NOT Water Baptism.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Acts 19:3 John's Baptism NOT Water Baptism.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

Acts 18:25 John's Baptism NOT Water Baptism.
This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Acts 13:25 Repentance Baptism NOT Water Baptism.
And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not [he]. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of [his] feet I am not worthy to loose.

Acts 13:24 Repentance Baptism NOT Water Baptism.
When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

Acts 11:16
Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:37
That word, [I say], ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

Acts 1:22
Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
9  Theology / General Theology / The Answer on: March 07, 2004, 08:53:59 PM
The verb baptized does not mean water. It can be likened to taking an oath. An oath in the name of Christ Jesus.
Yes, for the oath to be visible it is performed in water in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord. Baptism, the noun, is the final results that I have given my oath and now I have clothed myself with Christ. I am now a citizen of the kingdom of heaven. Baptism is NOT something we perform. Baptism is performed upon us. We are now members of Christ's body and we all been given drink in one Spirit. Baptism has put us into the death of Christ. We are dead to all things, but made alive in Christ Jesus our Lord. BUT, baptism is NEVER water baptism!

Gal 3:27
For as many of you as been [baptized[v_aor.pas.ind.2.pl.] [into[eis] Christ,
[you clothed yourselves[v_aor.mid.ind.2.pl.] with Christ.

1Cor 12:13 And
for [in[en] one Spirit we are all [been baptized[v_aor.pas.ind.1.pl.] [into[eis] one body, whether [we are] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we are] bond or free; and we are all [been given drink[v_aor.pas.ind.1.pl.] in one Spirit.

1Cor 1:15
Lest any should say that [you all been baptized[v_aor.pas.ind.2.pl.] [into[eis] my name.

1Cor 1:13
Christ has been divided? no. Paul was crucified for you? no. Or were you all been baptized into the name of Paul? no.

Rom 6:3 Or
you are unknowing that as many as we are, [we were baptized[v_aor.pas.ind.1.pl.] [into[eis] Christ
Jesus, [we were baptized[v_aor.pas.ind.1.pl.] [into[eis] his death.

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, get yourself baptized and get yourself cleansed of your sins, as you yourself called the name of him.

Acts 19:5 Yet
when they heard, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 19:4
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Acts 19:3
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

Acts 16:33
And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed [their] stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Acts 11:16
Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:48
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 9:18
And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Acts 8:16
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 8:13
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Acts 8:12
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 2:41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls.

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

11  Theology / General Theology / How do you answer this question and evidence? on: March 07, 2004, 02:45:53 PM
The noun repentance has a common thread, "EIS". Eis is a preposition. En is a preposition. These two preposition
make it plain and clear their meaning. We go INTO[eis] the church building and while IN[en] church we watch the wedding ceremony. We go INTO repentance, but then we must get IN Christ Jesus.

How do you say we get IN Christ Jesus?

1. All should come INTO repentance. But will they?
2. God gives repentance INTO acknowledging of the truth.
3. The goodness of God leads you INTO repentance. But will it lead you?
4. Repentance INTO the remission of sins.
5. God calls sinners INTO repentance.

2Pet 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come [to[eis] repentance.

Heb 6:6
If they shall fall away, to renew them again [unto[eis] repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put [him] to an open shame.

2Tim 2:25
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance [to[eis] the acknowledging of the truth;

2Cor 7:10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance [to[eis] salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

2Cor 7:9
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed [to[eis] repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

Rom 2:4
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee [to[eis] repentance?

Acts 19:4
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe [on[eis] him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Lk 24:47
And that repentance [and[eis] remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Lk 5:32
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners [to[eis] repentance.

Lk 3:3
And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance [for[eis] the remission of sins;

Mk 1:4
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance [for[eis] the remission of sins.

Mt 3:11
I indeed baptize you [with[en] water [unto[eis] repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you [with[en] the Holy Ghost and fire:
12  Theology / General Theology / Re:Water Baptism on: March 03, 2004, 06:05:52 AM
The N.T. speaks of ONE baptism.

When you put "water" in front of "baptism" you
reveal total ignorance of God's word.

Moses had a baptism and not ONE person got
wet with water.

John had a baptism, a baptism of repentance or
"repentance baptism."

Jesus has a baptism, baptized into Christ Jesus.

Please give me ONE verse that puts "water in
front of baptism? Just one, please.
13  Theology / Bible Study / Re:Parable of the Prodigal Son on: February 27, 2004, 01:00:43 PM
Bible Study, Luke 15:11

The word "parable" in this account could cause confusion.

Lk 15:11 And he said, "A certain man had two sons." This is a real case Jesus knew about.

Jesus uses this real case to address, in his day, who are sinners?

Lk 15:1 And all the tax-gatherers and the sinners were coming nigh to him, to hear him, Sinners?
Who are sinners? This is not about Christians!

Lk 15:12 and the younger of them said to the father, "Father, give me the portion of the substance falling to me," and he divided to them[both sons] their livelihood.

Once the father gave both sons their livelihood they were free to do with their own as they chose.

Lk 15:32 "Yet we must be merry and rejoice, seeing that this your brother was dead and revives, and was lost and was found." said the father.

Mt 8:22 Yet Jesus is saying to him,  "Be following Me, and leave the dead to entomb their own dead."
One good example of "dead."

Rom 7:9 Now I  lived, apart from law, once, yet at the coming of the precept Sin revives. Yet I  died,
One good example of "alive", "sin."

Mt 8:25 And, approaching, they rouse Him, saying,  "Lord! Save us! We are perishing!"
One good example of "save", "perish."

Mt 7:14 "Yet what a cramped gate and narrowed way is the one leading away into life, and few are who are finding it." One good example of "find."

The obvious is that the older brother is the sinner!

A real life story that Jesus knew, indeed.
14  Theology / General Theology / 1Jn 5:20. If one is among you, dont' seat in the rear? on: February 27, 2004, 11:42:44 AM
1492- to see with the mind's eye, signifies a clear and purely mental perception –
oida [1492]
1097- a knowledge grounded on personal experience – ginOskO [1097]

1Jn 5:20 [1492] v_1st.Person.Plural.Perfect Tense. Indicative.Active.

Yet [we have seen by our mental perception][1492] that the Son of God is come, and has given us comprehension, that [we are personally experiencing][1097] the True One, and we are in the True One, in His Son, Christ Jesus. This One is the true God and life eternal.

1Jn 5:20 [1097] v_1st.Person.Plural.Present Tense. Indicative.Active.

The apostle John could write "We" because he and the ones he was writing to "is" experiencing the true God.

You and I today must experience the true God to be able to say, "We."

The bible study is: "Does your mental perception and experience make you comprehend that the "son of God"
"is come?"

The Passion of the Christ by Gibson and the reviews lead me to think you have not.

pluperfect tense
A verb tense used to express action completed before a stated or implied past time. In English the pluperfect tense is formed with the past participle of a verb and the auxiliary verb had, as had learned in He had learned to skate before his fourth birthday.
