4  Welcome / About You! / Re:i'm back! here's my update... on: February 18, 2005, 02:55:00 AM
i have at least two or three more years at the junior college and then hopefully after i graduate, i can move back to colorado to work on my bachelors. i guess i'm not that old, but i'm getting there. when i go to my 10 year high school reunion in 2013, i'm gonna be 29. i know it doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but every time i think about it, it's like 'what? that's old!'. anyway, i'm so excited about the twins. having twins in the family is gonna be so cool. i didn't think about not talking about my dad. i realize now that i could have left that part out. i just wanted to meet others who are in the military also. glad to know you're not offended. i'm a pretty calm person and i don't get upset easily, but when i read what y'all said, it sounded like y'all were mad or upset or something. but now i know that i shouldn't ever say that stuff online. please forgive me.

i wasn't thinking about that, but i do agree with y'all. i was just wondering if anyone here was in the military. sorry, didn't mean to offend y'all.

Here is an email that was sent to me by a friend of my mom's:

The Lord has a way of revealing those of us who really know him, and those that don't!  Think about it!  Kerry gave a big speech last week about how his faith is so "important" to him.  In this attempt to convince the American people that we should consider him for president, he announced that his favorite Bible verse is John 16:3.  Of course the speech writer meant John 3:16, but nobody in the Kerry camp was familiar enough with scripture to catch the error.  And do you know what John 16:3 says?  John 16:3 says:  "They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me."  The Spirit works in strange ways.  Pass it on VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!
11  Fellowship / You name it!! / who else is 20? on: September 22, 2004, 07:23:49 PM
Just curious:  Is anyone out there about the same age as me?  I just turned 20 last March, and judging from some of the responses I've read to some of the other posts, some of y'all sound like you're way older me.  But that's ok.  I don't mind.
12  Entertainment / Television / Re:What is your favorite TV show? on: September 22, 2004, 07:12:02 PM
I love the Cosby Show.  It's hilarious!  I also like shows on the Travel Channel, such as Great Hotels, and on Food Network, I love Unwrapped and Emeril Live is pretty good, too.  I like shows on HGTV (my favorite is Divine Design.)  I also like to watch the Addam's Family, the Munsters, I Love Lucy and the Andy Griffith Show (the black and white ones).  (I used to watch Petticoat Junction, but they don't show it anymore.)  I also like some of the shows on TLC, like What Not to Wear, Head to Toe, For Better or For Worse, (I saw Perfect Proposal once, and it was kinda good), Help Wanted and another show called Ambush Makeover (not sure what channel it's on.)  I also watch House of Mouse and Recess on Disney Channel, and I love Bear in the Big Blue House.  Oh yeah!  Spongebob!

Hey!  Is anybody out there shy like me?  I'd like to know.  (I put this questions in another post in the "about you" section, but I didn't realize till now that I should've put it here.)

14  Welcome / About You! / update on: September 22, 2004, 01:00:41 AM
Hey y'all!  I joined the forum last spring, but I haven't posted anything in a while, and I just wanted to give an update.  I started my second year at the junior college last month, and everything is going pretty good so far.  One of the things that I did during the summer was that I went on youth choir tour around my state and it was soooo cool and totally awesome, that it's beyond words.  All I can say is that it was the coolest thing I've ever done.  (If you want to read more about my experience, please go to "What Are You Doing" and read my post called "what I did this summer".)  I also have some questions.  Is anyone out really shy like me?  I would like to know if there is because it sort of helps me to be able to relate to others who are really shy cause I know how they feel.  (I'm not as shy as I used to be, and I think it's cause my doctor gave me some medicine that has really helped, but I'm still pretty shy, though.)  Also, how do I figure out what the Lord wants me to do with my life?  Any suggestions on what I can do?  Cause like I stated above, I'm in my second year in college.  I was gonna major in computer programming, but then I took programming last spring, and now I'm taking COBOL (a computer language) and I've decided that programming is definitely not for me.  So I would like to stay in computers, but what if the Lord doesn't want me to be in computers?  I would really like to have a career that would allow me to do something that I'm interested in, or a hobby or something that I like to do, but I don't know how to find out what those careers would be.  (Searching online doen's really help that much.)  Does anybody have any suggestions?  Your feedback is really appreciated.

15  Fellowship / What are you doing? / what i did this summer on: September 22, 2004, 12:46:54 AM
Hey y'all!  I joined the youth choir at my church (which is something they just do in the summer) and during the last week of July, we went on tour around Oklahoma (where I live) and sang at different places.  We sang at two churches for their evening service, helped and sang at a mission for the homeless, and sang at two nursing homes and then prayed with the residents (if they wanted prayer) and just shook their hands and said hi and stuff.  It was soooo way totally cool.  Like, it's just beyond words.  Ya know?  It's the coolest thing that I've ever done in my life.  The altar call at both church services were soooo awesome.  We went down and prayed with people and stuff it was soooo cool.  I have so much more that I could say, about how I almost quit youth choir and why I didn't and how I know that the Devil was trying to get me to quit and how he tried, etc...But I am soooo glad that the Lord allowed me the opportunity to go and if y'all ever have the chance to do something like this, I highly suggest that you do.  It was soooo awesome.  Loved it.
