16  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:Sadam on: January 28, 2004, 02:10:20 PM
"How are you today?" with a smile on my face. That's what I'd ask him.

No, I do not believe he should be put to death. Locked up for protection reasons, yes, but in general, I am against the death penalty. You don't have to agree with me, but this is what I believe is to be the best way.

However, his fate relies entirely in the hands of the authorities now, and as Christians we are called to submit to authority so..

I guess the best thing we can do is pray for him.

It makes me sad, it really does.

So many people to reach, so little time.

I get so discouraged. They don't seem to understand that the way they're living their lives isn't working!

But, do we help?

2 Commandments: love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind (this is paraphrased, of course) and love your neighbor as yourself. And we. don't. do. it.

I've always been one to believe that Christians will be judged more harshly than nonbelievers, only in our case we can't lose our rewards. We KNOW the truth, and yet we continue to sin. We continue to hate, and it's disgusting.

Sometimes I just wanna abandon the world and its people (especially the Christians!) and go.. I don't know.. buy my own island and never have to deal with human interaction ever again. I'll.. I don't know.. I'll send my pet monkey to do my bargaining.. or something.

But no, I cannot, because the Lord has given me work to do, which I need to do gladly.

It's. Just. So. Frustrating.

Can you see it? Can you see the frustration in my sentence fragments?

 Angry

Why do we argue? Seriously. Arguing is POINTLESS. Because people are people and they're not gonna give in.

So like, I was on this on Christian forum from like gee I donno.. May to like, yesterday. I had to get out of there. It's disgusting!

And you know what else really bothers me? People who take things out of context. There's this one issue that the Jenn Jenn (and yes she refers to herself in 3rd person) holds very near and dear to her heart, and it's women and God. Seriously, I read verses like the ones in 2 Timothy and just cry. I know, I know, it's all cultural. I know that just cause some people are dumb doesn't mean I have to be, but it's so emotionally draining. And like Gideon I'm cryin out to God saying, "Are you sure this is what you want ME to do?". God has called me into ministry. I must fulfill what He has asked.

Enough ranting. Thanks to those who read. Time for me to go back to the Flu.  Sad
18  Welcome / About You! / The Jenn Jenn!!! on: January 28, 2004, 01:36:42 PM
Okay so I guess you kinda figuired out what my name is. I'm 15 and I live in Virginia (and can't wait to get out!). I'm a sophomore in high school, a choir geek even though I'm really not all that good and I used to play basketball *did it for 5 years* but I really was terrible and just.. kinda.. gave up. lol.
I currently belong to the Assembly of God church though I was baptised Catholic. I really have no problem with Catholicism I just don't really agree on a whole lot of doctrines. In fact, I was going to undergo my first Holy Communion about 3 years ago only to appease my father; however, I was totally honest with the priest about my views and what not and he didn't want to go through with the sacrement which is cool well to me at least. And that upset my dad so for a while I was unable to attend church even though I was still very much a believer. Through lots of prayer and some really awesome people I ended up at the church I'm at now. I don't know where I stand on Pentecostal doctrines. To be honest, I don't know enough about them for me to make any kind of judgement. HOWEVER, Jesus did say that we can know what is good and what is not by the fruit it bares, and let me tell you, every kid I brought into that place has gotten saved. And it's awesome.
I'm at a very frustrated place in my life because I have so many dreams and ambitions that being stuck in high school is a DRAG. Neither of my parents are Christians so I'm trying really hard to be on constant "witness" and that adds so much stress like you wouldn't believe. I'm 15, I'm not always a perfect little angel, and the parentals are a big test of integrity. But I know it's gonna make me stronger in the end. Neither of my parents support me on the whole "religion" thing although ironically my older brother is Satanic. I'm workin hard on getting them to let me take my little brother to one of the services at my church because he needs that kinda influence in his life. He's not doing too hot in school and well he's a 10 year old kid with what the doctors call ADHD (though I will not go into my views on "mental disorders" such as those at this time) *breathes*
Let's see what else. Oh of my many dreams and ambitions these are just a few: pastor (yeh yeh I am aware of the whole "females can't be pastors" thing I just disagree), missionary, teacher, nurse, I'd LOVE to go on Broadway and enter in the music industry (secular even.. see if I can shake things up a bit  Grin  )
And that's me. Yeap.
Chau Youngin's.
