2941  Theology / General Theology / Re:I have a Question on: April 19, 2003, 04:02:28 PM
Maybe to return to boiler's original question...
Quote
was the cross the fullfilment of the law or is his return the fulfilment of the law?

We're still in the period of "the cross", apparently--2000 years seeming to us like an extremely long time.

From Jesus' crucifixion, onward, we are in the time of the "fulfillment" of all things.

All of "these things" have not yet passed away--heaven and earth--so we are in the "sweet spot", the "eye of the hurricane", so as to speak.

'Though now it doesn't appear to be for much longer.

Thank you for your good question, boiler.

Well, your story DOES have a good moral to it.

Not to be men-pleasers.

I don't like to push movies, and I'm not a Kevin Bacon fan, but he plays an ambitious director whose original idea for a film keeps getting "edited" by everyone else.  He listens to all of their suggestions.  It fails miserably.

Finally, near the end, he realizes he has to do his way, so goes back to doing it the way he wanted in the beginning, and it becomes a hit.

How do you love someone you can't see?

I love jelly beans, as long as their fresh.
2953  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:The War on: April 14, 2003, 09:23:14 PM

There was a short blurb in The New Yorker magazine a few months ago mentioning a recent show(or book) of war photos of a well-known photographer of the Civil War, remarking it was the most terrible thing he had ever seen.

If you are a combat photographer, do you still get to practice your craft even when stateside?

Do you use some of the latest equipment(digital?).  What's your main film--35mm?  Do you do only stills.  Any video?

Was just curious.  Thanks.

On second thought, Irish, I think you DO need another older brother...

I'm telling.
