1  Theology / Bible Study / Faithfulness on: September 13, 2012, 01:38:11 PM
Introduction

To begin with, this is a very huge and very sensitive topic on its own when it comes to perfecting your life as a Christian. I will suggest you don’t just try to read it through and FINISH it in one day. Read it slowly; make your own notes for later reference. God expects man to have his attributes, and faithfulness is one of those that are very important. Not that it is more important than God’s other attributes but not only does God ONLY send faithful men  2 Timothy 2:1 ‘’And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.’’, but also faithfulness is a decision made by us. And remember the Word means (the Bible) means nothing until you accept it, which means being faithful and trusting God’s Word. God’s faithfulness is the same unto all generation. What most people have not understand is that, the fact that they don’t believe in God (His Word), does not stop him from being faithful to his Word to those that believe. 2 Timothy ‘’If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.’’

Definition

Faithfulness is commitment with purpose (God’s purpose, that all might come to his true knowledge of LOVE) of positive distinction.

Synonyms

Loyalty, Observance of duty, Commitment, Attachment, Dedication, Devotion, Stet fastness, Fidelity, Allegiance, Dependable.

Faithfulness of God

Deuteronomy 7:9 ‘’Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.’’

Psalms 36:5 ‘’Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.’’

Psalms 119:90 ‘’Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.’’

1 Corinthians  ‘’There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.’’ Amen

1 Thessalonians ‘’Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.’’

2 Thessalonians 3:3 ‘’ But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.’’

Faithfulness of Jesus Christ

Hebrews 3:1-2 ‘’Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.’’

Hebrews 2:17 ‘’Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.’’

John 4:34 ‘’Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.’’

Revelation 1:5 ‘’And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood…’’

Revelation 3:14 ‘’And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God…’’

Fruits Of The Spirit

Galatians 5: 22-23 ‘’But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.’’

God intensify The Importance Of Faithfulness

1 Samuel 2:35 ‘’And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.’’

Further Bible Explanation Of Faithfulness

Proverbs 14:5 ‘’A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.’’

Proverbs 20:6 ‘’Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?’’

Proverbs 11:13 ‘’A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.’’

The we all have been waiting for.

Blessings Of Faithfulness

Proverbs 28:20 ‘’A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.’’

Psalms 31:23 ‘’O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful…’’

Luke 12:36-44 ‘’And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.’’

Luke 16:10-12 ‘’He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?’’

Luke 19:12-26 ‘’He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.  (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.’’

2  Theology / Bible Study / Seek To Please The Lord Not Men! on: July 05, 2012, 07:07:36 AM
And when he (God) had removed him (Saul), he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will (Act 13:22).

What are the motives behind your actions? Why do you do things you do? The motivation behind your aspiration matters.

Writing to Timothy, his protégé, the apostle Paul made this remarkable statement: ‘’…I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who had enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry’’ (1 Timothy 1:12). This verse of scripture lets us know that Paul was full of gratitude to the One who had called him; for granting him the grace to be effective in the ministry of reconciliation. This is what counts.

You could live your whole life to be known of men; to be famous and have lots of money, and everything money can buy. Nevertheless, if the Gospel of Jesus Christ isn’t uppermost in your heart, as a compelling force in you, you’ve lived an empty life. Remember that one day, the Bible says, and every one of us shall receive the things done in his body. Then we shall see what our true motives were; were you compelled by the love of God or by the praise of men?

In your service to the Lord, contributions to society, relationships with other people, and even in your plans for the future, your aim should be to please the Lord and live up to his expectations of you. Your desires should be after God’s heart. Understand being successful is not about pleasing other people; is about bringing out the best in yourself. It’s about discovering God’s Purpose in your life and fulfilling it.

Focus on what God wants and channel your energies towards fulfilling His dreams, and His peace will reign in your heart! You’ll continually heap success upon success as you live to the glory of Christ; seeking to please him only.

Prayer

Dear Father, there’s none like you! You alone are worthy of all praise and adoration. I worship you today, and focus my whole being on you-the personality of my deepest affection-to do your will and walk worthy of you unto all pleasing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

3  Theology / Bible Study / You Can Control Your Thoughts! on: June 12, 2012, 05:05:31 AM
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… (Proverbs 23:7).

Philippians 4:8 says, ‘’…whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report…think on these things.’’ This suggests you can dictate and control the subject and character of your thoughts. Thoughts are more than mere imaginations; they are mental pictures with constructive and destructive capabilities. Thoughts, many times, are your own creation; the mental construction of your mind that are based on your imaginations. They have the power to keep you in bondage or liberate you to be the best of you.

Until you change your way of thinking, your life and the circumstances of your existence will not change. That’s how powerful thoughts are; and this is the reason we’re admonished in Scripture to choose our thoughts. You must think in line with the Word always. God has given you the ability as well as the responsibility to change your life from glory to glory by managing your mind to think right: ‘’And be not confirmed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God’’ (Romans 12:2).

Realize that you are the character of your thoughts. Where you’re today is a function of your mind; your thinking. Your life in general, including how you live, the things you do, the character of your words and the totality of your personality are all the expression of your thought process. No wonder Proverbs 4:23 enjoins that you mount garrison over your heart. Don’t allow just every thought come in. Reject thoughts that tend to demean or depress you, and accept only thoughts of success, joy, victory and prosperity. You can actually make your life much happier, fulfilling, and full of glory if you’d manage your mind to think in consonance with the Word.

Prayer

Blessed Father, thank you for the power of your Word to renew and transform my mind and change my estate! Your perfect will is done in my life today as I make your Word my meditation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

4  Theology / Bible Study / The importance of Growth For Christians on: June 08, 2012, 05:21:41 AM
Until a child grows, he does not differ from a servant. He is under tutor and governors. When he grows he takes his full position and begins to reign. Until a Christian grows, he cannot enjoy fully his rights and inheritance in Christ. Galatians 4:1-2

God designed us to grow:

God wants us to grow into Christ in all things. The Bible says we should desire the word of God that we may grow thereby. Ephesians 4:15-16, 1 Peter 2:3

Increase the result we produce:

Hebrews 5:14 ‘’seeing then that we have a great high priest, that passed into the heavens, Jesus the son of God lets us hold fast our profession.’’

Study the word:

2 Timothy 2:15. It is very necessary that we study the word of God. The Bible says that we should study to show ourselves approved, a workman that needs not be ashamed.

Reason for study:

1 Peter 2:2; Eph 4:14. We study so that we would grow. God’s word is the food for the spirit; we have to take it in order to grow.

5  Theology / Bible Study / Sickness: Not An Act Of God! on: June 01, 2012, 09:23:27 AM
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38).

A lady gave birth to a child that was blind and started crying, ‘’Oh God, what has this innocent child done to be born blind? Oh God, why did you do this?’’ She held God responsible for such a misfortune out of her ignorance. Many people ignorantly attribute every mishap to an act of God; this is wrong! God is not the author of the pain, sickness and misery in the lives of many. Rather, He’s the healer, restorer, and mender of broken hearts, broken lives, and broken relationships.

Our opening scripture reveals God’s character and nature of love, kindness, and compassion, while revealing Satan as the one who oppresses people with sickness, hardship, pain and misery. It tells us that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him. Notice, it wasn’t God who made the people sick; but it was God who sent Jesus to heal them.

The case of blind Bartimaeus readily buttresses this. The Bible says he was born blind; not satisfied with his condition, he cried out to Jesus for help, and the Lord restored his sight (Mark 10:51-52). In this case, the man was born blind, and then Jesus healed him, proof-positive it wasn’t God who made him blind. A similar case was when Jesus and His disciples met another man who was born blind. His disciples asked Him, ‘’Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?’’ (John 9:2).

The Lord responded, ‘’…Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the word of God should be made manifest in him, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.’’ The devil’s work was manifested in the man’s life, which was the blindness, but the Lord Jesus went on to say, ‘’…but that the works of God should be made manifest in him, I must work the works of Him that sent me,’’ (John 9:3-4) and healed the man.

Evidently, God is the healer while the devil is the oppressor responsible for all the sickness, disease and misery that people suffer from! Nevertheless, thanks be unto God; He’s given us power to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out devils (Mathew 10:Cool. Like Jesus, you ought to go about doing good. Healing those who are oppressed of the devil, for God is with you.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, blessed be your Name forever for your light that shines brightly in this dark world, bringing healing, deliverance, preservation, and strength to the oppressed and afflicted, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

6  Theology / Bible Study / Who Is The Holy Spirit? on: May 26, 2012, 01:43:17 PM
The Holy Spirit is God himself, the third person of the trinity, the person that created the earth. He is a member of the Godhead. (Gen 1:26). He is a Spirit and cannot be seen with the optical eyes, but he is real as a person sitting next to you. (John 14:17). He has a personality, just like every human. He can be grieved, (Ephesians 4:23-31) and He speaks (Acts 13:2, 10:19-20, 11:12, 21:11). He is the angel of God’s presence. (Isaiah 63:9-10). He is the one, who brings to us on earth the power of the almighty God.

Though Jesus is in heaven, His presence is felt here on earth. God dwells between the Cherubin of glory but his presence can be felt in this world through the Holy Ghost. God is too big to dwell in us, but he is able to dwell in us by the Holy Spirit.

All the time that God appeared to men, it was the Holy Spirit that brought God’s presence to men. He is the angel of God’s presence. He is one of the same kind with Jesus Christ, (John 14:16-20). He talks, heals, saves and does every thing like Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is just like the father, which means the Holy Spirit is just like the father. It then implies that the father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are one of the same kind with one another. The father says the same thing as Jesus, just as the Holy Ghost speaks the very words of Jesus. (John 13:13).
Parakletos means

Comforter (John 14:16, 2 Cor 1:3)

Counselor (Isaiah 11:2, Rom. 8:16)

Helper (Rom. 8:26-28)

Strengthener (Philippians 4:13, Isaiah 11:2)

Intercessor (Rom 8:26)

Teacher (1 Cor. 2:9-11, 1 John 2:20&27, John 16:13)

Standby (2 Cor. 12:9-10)
7  Theology / Bible Study / Who are you? on: May 19, 2012, 07:18:32 AM
Firstly, a Christian is a NEW CREATION. ‘’therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.’’ To walk in the newness of life as the Bible declares is to understand that we have become new creatures with new kind of life. This life is not human. It is ZOE, The God kind of life.

We are not talking about a change, behaviour or refurbished character. We are talking about a brand new man who has never existed before. Paul says that in God (Galatians 6:15). (Ehesians 4:22-24). The new creation is a new man created in God’s divine nature of righteousness and holiness. They are his attributes. (2 Peter 1:4).

Secondly, a Christian becomes the son of God when he becomes born again. This time of a different father. Not the earthly father but the heavenly Father through his seed. ‘’Which is born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.’’ (John 1:13) behold, what manner of love the father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the SONS OF GOD’’ This is why we cry ‘’Abba Father,’’ John 1:13, Romans 8:16-17.

8  Theology / Bible Study / Prosperity In Christ on: May 13, 2012, 01:18:35 PM
What is prosperity and what does the Bible says about it? 2 Cor. 8:9, Joshua 1:7-8 prosperity is success, influence and riches. It does not only have to do with money but also health, spiritual and physical. Prosperity is God’s will. God desires for us to prosper. 3 John 2

Purpose of prosperity Deuteronomy 8:17-18

To establish Gods convert on earth

So we can have to give

Not many believe that Christians should be wealthy and prosperous in material things. But Apostle John clearly states that, it is God’s foremost desires for his Children to live in prosperity. ‘’Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in HEALTH, even as thy soul prospereth.’’ (3 John 2). Jesus did not only suffer for our sins and sicknesses. He also suffered for our prosperity. He paid all the necessary penalty for our freedom from poverty. 2 Corinthians 8:9. God has reason why he wants his Children to prosper.
