“Adopted and Sealed” By God’s Word I seek to live each day By His Spirit I am adopted and sealed A joy stirs my heart that’s here to stay Knowledge of His Truth to me revealed Now it’s through a darkened lens I see Existence bound up in time and space Far from here, an eternal reality for me Forever to look upon my Savior’s face
His promises to me are true and sure Reminding me of His grace and love To be sanctified; to be holy and pure Is the desire of one born from above
Ephesians 1:13-14 (NASB) In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory. Galatians 4:4-7 (NASB) 4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

Jesus brought me back to Himself in October 2008, after a harrowing family tragedy. I'd spent many, many years asking Him to come into my heart, to change me; I tried on my own power to "work up" the faith to believe in Him and to serve Him, which of course was futile. People would ask me concerning my prayer to Him: Well, did you mean it? Confusion and frustration escalated from that point. When I FINALLY understood that salvation is of Him, He called me and chose me to be one of His own, then I asked Him for the faith to believe, to come into my heart and life, on His terms, and to cleanse me, and He did. He answered my prayers I'd prayed long ago: "Please don't forget me" and "Please don't give up on me". I am grateful to Him that he "kept" me over these many years, until that day when my heart of stone was made into a heart of flesh and I passed from death into life. He holds my salvation secure, He is my Redeemer, Merciful Intercessor, and Faithful High Priest. When the enemy tries to fire darts of doubt at me about my salvation, that I'm not worthy, I say "of course I'm not..but HE is" and I run to Christ and cling to Him and the promise of I John 1:9. And no one is able to snatch me out of His mighty hand. (John 10:28)

“Forever In My Heart”
Neither the sum of my thoughts, nor all the words that I write Can capture what will seize my heart when faith is made sight The Gospel of Christ compels me; I am brought closer to Him A sanctifying, holy fire; a kindled flame burns brightly within
Empowered through His Truth; driven to my knees in prayer He alone is worthy; I am not; He keeps me in His divine care He and I; Jesus and me; for this day, for eternity; never apart Not I, but He; not my life, but His; first, forever in my heart
