Well, I'm here. Making progress on the station, and enjoying the opportunities to teach. This morning went well, taught at the Anglican seminary. Thanks for the prayers. I should be able to write more later. Low on battery right now.
Yours for the Kingdom, Mark

I'm off! (almost). I leave for Nigeria Tuesday. Itinerary looks great, only problem is the visa. The Nigerian consulate is a mess. But God is GOOD! And soon I'll be in my adopted home with my Nigerian family. Please pray that I hear and share the Fathers heart, that the words I speak would have life and power.

Just wanted to give an update. The plans are progressing well, almost to well. 12 engagements in 15 days! Our prayers have been heard, and answered. Jesus, you are so GOOD! Now onto my visa. Please pray that the embassy gets it back in plenty of time with a minimum of hassle. Many thanks and blessings.
Yours for the Kingdom, Mark

I just hit 60 this year myself. We are blessed with 6 grandchildren and another one soon to join us in about a month or less.
Congrats! My oldest is getting married next year. Hope to enter the ranks of the grampas soon.
Amen! I think that is all of our hope as well as our prayer.
Agreed! Why not a third "Great Awakening"?

Tom, I think you and I are going to hit it off. I'm bump-drafting 50, but no grandkids yet. I agree, there are many good, solid churches and thank God for them. There are also pockets of real revival and it is my hope that the Father will use that leaven to leaven the whole lump.

Thanks for the support and prayers. And, yes, it does get tougher by the day. Don't know what to expect now, what with the burning of the quran. Well, yeah I do know though, I can expect that God will be God, He'll "show up" and do what He will. Bound to better than my expectations.

I'm getting ready to go back to Nigeria. Hoping to get back into the Northern states, but that is up to God and my brothers there. I'll be finishing the building that will house a Christian radio station while I'm there. Probably teach at a Youth With A Mission school, too. Couple of prayer requests.
1) That the radio station would be on air within the year, it's been a long time coming.
2) For ministry opportunities in the North.
Thanks and God bless

Hi, I'm new here, but been a Christian for a while. Got to second what Tom said, e-sword is great and free. Just thinking about what I wish I had been told early on and 2 things come to mind 1) Dig deep into the Word, don't just read it, study it. But don't fall into the trap of not seeing the forest for the trees. Read the whole Bible, cover to cover, and get the big picture first. I would suggest starting with the Gospels. That will give you the proper context for the rest. 2) Hang on to your "first love". You are probably very much in love with Jesus right now, and willing to do anything that He asks. Some older believers may be put off by your passion and what they see as your naivety. That was my experience. A well meaning brother in the Lord told me that I was "having a mountaintop experience" and that it would end. But the first love doesn't have to end, in fact it should not. That being said, you will have tests, you will have trials and the emotional rush may fade. When that begins to happen, as soon as you see it, press in to Him, seek Him and don't give up.

Hi, y'all
By way of introduction, I am a missionary (Nigeria and India), I live in Alaska, married, 3 kids. I love God, love to talk about Him, His ways, His works, His love and grace. Gotta warn you, though, I can get a little snarky sometimes without meaning to. Just let me know if you see that. I'm working on it.
I'm 49, been walking with Jesus for 25 years. When I'm in the States I do some building and remodeling. I also fish and hunt... a lot!
I'm more than a bit disturbed by what I am seeing in much of the Church here in the States, and I'm looking forward to hearing some of your opinions and solutions.
I'm kind of new to this type of forum. What I'm really looking for is open, frank and honest conversations that are productive and edifying.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys.
