1  Theology / Debate / Re:The Traditions of Man, the Demise of the Church on: March 25, 2004, 01:44:30 PM
Strong Defender,

Thank you for your posts, and warnings. You've hit the nail on the head!

Our family came out of the 501(c)3 corporation 16 years ago. Has it been lonely at times yes? Do we regret it, no! Once or twice a year we may go visit a "church" with friends, if we are staying with them. We always walk out grieved. The common denominator is the lack of preaching. You may hear a couple verses read, a joke or two, then rabbit chasing, and you walk out saying, "what did he say?" Our family does not participte in the holidays of Rome either (Christmas, Easter, etc...) which already labels one as an odd duck.

I believe with all my heart, that true believers are entering into perilous days. There is "mass" deception all around. There is a flood coming on the land, not of water, but of seducing spirits. We must stand, and not be swayed to the left or the right. We must walk the straight and narrow path to Zion. The Lord will be a shield to those who walk uprightly.

DesertMouse,

Thanks for the link. Just another confirmation from another "trumpet blower" that this movie is not of the spirit of God.

You will find vey few evangelicals who share your concerns, but continue to sound the alarm!

4  Entertainment / Movies / Re:The Passion of Christ is Rated R on: March 20, 2004, 12:00:06 PM
The Passion of Christ is Rated R

The "R" of course is because of the violence, the gore.  In movie terms "R" stands for RESTRICTED, but in this movie "R" stands for RELEVANT, for REALISTIC, for it REALLY happened for a REASON because we were REBELLIOUS we needed a REDEEMER, we needed to be RECONCILED, we needed to be
RECOVERED, we needed to be REGENERATED.  Jesus needed to be REJECTED so that we could have a RELATIONSHIP not just a RELIGION.  The "R" is to REMIND us to REMEMBER what Jesus did to REMOVE our sin to RENDER Satan powerless, to RESCUE us from eternity in hell.  The "R" rating is to show
that Jesus was RESPONSIBLE for giving you REST.  As a RESULT of his death Jesus RETIRED your debt.  The "R" rating means that some will be REPULSED, some will REFUSE to believe, some will be RELUCTANT, some will think you
are RIDICULOUS in believing that a death was REQUIRED.  The "R" rating means that the RESULT of sin has been REVERSED and now through faith in Christ your REWARD is eternity and you are now RIGHTEOUS before God because
you have RECEIVED him as the RULER of your soul.  What a REVOLUTIONARY and RADICAL solution to REDEEM mankind

Love-in-Jesus,

A4C,

You forgot one: ROMAN CATHOLIC

btw, Mexico has given the movie an "X" rating, can you come up with a good jingle with "X's"?

Hopeand Faith,

I sense you have a strong desire to please the Lord Jesus in all you say and do. You are a strong seeker of truth and purity.

Most  holidays that Christians celebrate have their roots in paganism and Catholicism. This information is readily available on the net to anyone who wants to know the truth. What every Christian must do is pray and seek the Lord. And to remember that Jesus will not share His glory with anyone else.

"Come out from among them and be separate says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you." 2 Cor.6:17

The sad reality is that there is still alot of Rome in the Protestant Church. We need another reformation today!

"Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now MANY ANTICHRISTS (emph. mine) have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the FAther ; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.  I John 2:18-19, 22-23

So who are some of the modern day antichrists?

The Pope, Catholics who pray to Mary, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Muslims,  the hundreds of cults who will not accept Jesus as the Son of God, unbelieving Jews, Protestant pastors who teach contrary to the doctrines of Christ, and all unbelievers.

There is so much emphasis put on "THE ANTICHRIST" that we fail to see the many antichrists that are among us in this present hour. We must remember that if someone is not FOR Christ he is against Him.

Psalm 119

Its seems you would be calling BlackEyedPeas, 2nd Timtothy and myself "Antichrists" because we believe the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church. Thats a strong accusation calling someone "Antichrist". What if we are right about the Pre-Tribulation Rapture? What would that make you in the event we are right about the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church? You are treading on dangerous ground when you declare those who believe the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church are Antichrists.

If BlackEyedPeas, 2nd Timothy and myself are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and believers in Christ, how can we be Antichrists? You may not believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church yourself but then again I don't even know if you study prophecy. I haven't seen you explain you end time beliefs for our inspection. Prove us wrong. We have a thread where we discuss the Rapture and the End Times in the Prophecy section titled "Best of Paul2's Rapture pages. Your welcome to join us and present your interpretation of the End Times and see if your interpretation is contradicted by Scripture. If you can't present your interpretation of the End Times what qualifies you to determine whether or not our interpretations are correct. Can you fit all the End Time events into a logical sequence that Scripture will allow without clear contradictions? Show me!

I hate being called false teacher, ANTICHRIST by those who never attempt to set the record straight. If I'm wrong prove it. Present a better case for your interpretation and be willing to allow us to ask you questions which will clarify your view. I don't call those who disagree with me Antichrist, I wouldn't dare call a Christian indwelt by the Holy spirit Antichrist.

I've come to the conclusion that you feel we are Antichrists from many of your posts. I belong to Christ, I was paid for with His blood. He has declared me Justified and Righteous by His Blood and His Word. BlackEyedPeas and 2nd Timothy also belong to Christ. We are brothers "in Christ", not Antichrists!

Careful not to call a Christian "Antichrist". I believe Jesus has always been God, and always will be God. I believe in Jesus' bodily resurrection, the virgin birth, His miracles, that Jesus was sinless, died willingly on the cross, and will return to establish His Millenial Kingdom. I'm a believer, a member in His Church, I'm indwelt by the Holy Spirit. I'm not an Antichrist!

                                                           Paul2 Huh

Paul2,

Apparently you have taken the rapture thread and this antichrist thread and blended the two to come up with your own conclusion on whom I believe to be an antichrist. I have not called anyone who believes in the rapture an antichrist. That is your own conclusion.

I do believe in the Resurrection of the Saints (as most Christians did the first 1700 years after the death of Christ). I do believe that the Pre- rapture doctrine is dangerous, for it gives many Christians the feeling that they will never have to suffer for the cause of Christ. Please don't accuse me of making statements that were never made.

Symphony,

Read the same story on WND today. We shouldn't be suprized. The radical homosexuals want to indoctrinate our children from the cradle to the grave.

Remember the book "Heather Has Two Mommies"?

A number of years ago, a group of us protested this book that was available at our local public library. A pastor or two did show up at the Library board meeting to voice their concerns (out of a metropolitan area of over 1,000,000) but the board members just thumbed their noses at us. What was interesting is that one of the board members was also a local judge. So much for justice!

Proverbs is the biblical model for child training.

"He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly." Prov. 13:24

That's pretty powerful stuff....he who spares the rod hates his son.

Our children are now grown, and spanking wasn't always the first course of action, but open defiance( i.e. yelling no!) and lying were two no no's.Our oldest was caught stealing and we had her write the eighth commandment (thou shall not steal) 100 times. Grounding and taking away priviledges were the methods used during the teen years.

It's really sad that many have adopted the Dr.Spock approach to child rearing, rather than using God's Word as the standard.

10  Theology / Debate / Re:Biblical proof for the Rapture on: March 18, 2004, 07:45:24 PM
It's a historical fact that the Idea of the Rapture didn't come about until the 1800's.  Some woman was reading that verse in Thessalonians and when she went to sleep she had a dream in which she saw all the Christians of the Earth getting raptured before the Tribulation.  and through some wild eisegesis she came up with the doctrine

Funny that this idea never existed in the Church for 1700 plus years, and that the Scriptural "evidence" is questionable at best.

I personnally think that the "Rapture" Idea is the work of Satan.  when the Anti-christ comes many people will fall away because they didn't get their "Promised" rapture.

Nikolai,

Margaret McDonald of Glasgow Scotland (1830's) is the lady who had the dream of getting caught up. Edward Irving ( the Irvingites) propoagated this new doctrine, along with Darby.

You state correctly that this doctrine of a pre-tribulation "rapture" was not taught in the church for the first 1700 plus years.

IMHO I believe the pre-tribulation doctrine will be one of the catalyst's for the great falling away. When many who thought they would escape persecution, and don't, they will be angry at God. Many will not be able to stand.

Tim Lahaye and all those who have misled the sheep, have alot to answer for.

Tibby,

We haven't seen eye to eye on much, but you are correct about the "Rapture". But do you know who actually started this false doctrine of a pre-tribulation or "secret rapture"? A young woman named Margaret McDonald( 1830's) of Port Glasgow Scotland who belonged to the Catholic Apostolic Church.

Corrie ten Boom the beloved woman who spent time in a Nazi Camp said this about the rapture doctrine: "The rapture doctrine is a false teaching that Jesus warned us to expect in the latter days."

For over 1800 years after the death of Christ, the Church believed that there was a Resurrection of the saints, not a pre-tribulation "rapture".

It just goes to show you that many of the false doctrines have originated in the Catholic Church, and many Protestants will eventually follow suite.

That brings us back to The Passion. Here is another great article written by a retired professor of theology.

The Lord God who brought out His people of Egypt, also destroyed the majority of them in the dessert.Their crime? Idolatry.( They really thought that they could worship God and idols too. Boy were they mistaken!)

You cannot worship the Lord God and images.

Guess what Mel Gibson's production company is called?

Coincidence?

14  Theology / Debate / Re:the Passion on: March 16, 2004, 09:32:10 PM
Tibby,

No, I'm not a rapture ranger! And I don't adhere to the fables of Tim Lahaye.

To all others,

What this all boils down to, is truth vs half truth. When someone takes the Word of God which is pure and holy, and mixes it with fables,(The Dolorous Passion of Christ/ Anne Emmerich) and then is heavily promoted among Catholic and Evangelical circles as "The Truth", this is where the problem lies.

There is a real disconnect with Mel the film producer of some of the most violent movies ever made, and Mel the producer of  The Passion. I'm just wondering if Arnold Swarzenegger (sp?) comes out with a "Christian" film, will the theaters fill up?

It has been clearly established that Mel Gibson is not a born again Christian. He is an idol worshipping, Mary worshipping Catholic. If he does not repent and worship Christ alone, he will spend eternity in hell.

I'm still very concerned that most professing Christians have lost all memory of the Reformation,Luther's 95 theses nailed to the church at Wittenberg, and the millions of Christian's who have been murdered at the hands of the Catholic Church( Read the Foxes Book of Martyrs). Yes, there is forgiveness, but we must never forget the basis of the persecutions; Rome. And a leopard does not change its spots.

So why are millions of Evangelical Christians running to a "Marian" film?

I would plead with every Christian on this board to read the last three or four chapters of the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I would challenge each one to study God's Word.

These are perilous days, and Jesus stated time and time again....."DO NOT BE DECEIVED".

If we think we cannot be deceived; we already are.

Psalm 119
15  Theology / Debate / Re:the Passion on: March 16, 2004, 01:12:10 PM
Tibby,

Once again you have overlooked a post, and/or just don't want to believe facts. Do a "Google" search on the cast of the Passion. Most of this information can be easily obtained on the Movie Review sites. Just punch in their names and you will get the same facts. But for the sake of others I will review what I found in a matter of a couple of hours.

James Caviziel (Jesus) played in "Frequency" it's a movie about a man who can communicate with his dead father via the radio. ( the word of God prohibits the talking to the dead). As far as I know James has not played in any porno films. But the following have:

Rosalinda Celentano (Satan) played in Italian porn movie "Tale of a Gay Porn Star", The Italian name is "Poco piu di un annofa" this movie was made in 2003

Claudia Gerini (Claudia) played the part of Elsa in "Don't Move" (pornographic)released date 2004. She also played a lesbian rock star in La Vespa E La Regina (Italian/2000)

Monica Bellucci (Mary Magdalene) played a topless vampire in Bran Stoker's "Dracula". There is a website dedicated to her
www.100percent-online.com (caution is pornographic)

Sergio Rubini (Dismas) played in the 2002 film "Amnesia" with a pornographic/sodomy theme

These are facts not rumors. I challenge everyone to research the cast of The Passion.

Mary,

This movie may be the catalyst for a one world religion. It is bringing Catholics and Protestants together. Many are seeing Mary in a "New Light".

"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." 1 Tim. 4:1

"And Jesus answered and said to them; Take heed that no one deceives you. FOR MANY WILL COME IN MY NAME SAYING,"I AM THE CHRIST" AND WILL DECEIVE MANY. Mt. 24:4-5

The last chapter of Rev. that you quoted should put the fear of God into people. I surely don't want the plagues put on me and my family.

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who put darkness for light, and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Isaiah 5:20

Yes, when we hear and see error, it should compel us to run to the Word of God for truth.

Mary, just prepare yourself for persecution for taking a stand!
