when Jesus said "it is finished"  He meant that His work was finished.   That the law had been fulfilled thereby finished. and thus He began the covenant that God had made with Abraham.   The new covenant was now in place, the perfect law of Liberty in Christ Jesus.  Salvation by faith by the blood of Jesus
