You have a beautiful story and are so brave to share it, I myself am a new member and haven't worked up that courage yet. So I do commend you and you said it perfectly...big difference between start over and start again. I pray that your testimony gives someone else the strength to start over.Amen

I think the question should be: Can a devote homosexual be a Christian?.... Answer NO!
Nice to meet you. I want to know why is it you feel this way? Can you explain your answer?

Theology / Apologetics / Re: What is my Role?

Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
I think some women take submission as a negative like they are beneath men and are supposed to be like a slave. When I think of submission, I think of love. Just like love for Christ. I submit out of love. I love to do works for God not because I have to because I am already promised salvation but because I love God and want to please him just like I love my husband and I do things to make him happy.

Welcome Shardae! Sorry I'm late in welcoming you to the forums but it is so nice to have you here. As the other have said, just do your exploring around the site and as questions come up, just ask! The moderators are always willing to help. I pray that you like it here and that you will learn much as you roam around. One thing to remember about our Lord is that He is ALWAYS with you. Just talk to Him like you would to anyone. If you are happy, tell Him. If you are struggling, tell Him. If you are angry or upset, tell Him. He already knows anyway and will send you comfort when you ask. Go to the second hand stores and possibly find Veggie Tales movies to watch with your 1 year old or a Bible story book to read to him/her. You'll get something out of it too!
In Christ, Grammyluv
Thanks grammyluv and I also had a chance to read your testimony and it is beautiful.

Theology / Debate / Re: Poll Question

Sin hinders our relationship to Christ no matter what the sin is. The reason I brought up this question was because I have a friend named Robert and he is gay. About three months ago, he started reading the Bible and a month later he claims he is saved. Although he has read that homosexuality is a sin... he continues to say he was born that way and he can't stray away from it. I told him he should know that's not true because all things are possible through Christ. So I just ask for any advice on this situation that I can tell him.

Theology / Apologetics / What is my Role?

I would like responses from both men and women. I would like to know what my role as a wife is? I also want more clarification on submission. I want to live the way God wants me to and I also want to be a good example for my children.

Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Should Christians be watching violent sports?
|
on: February 16, 2009, 09:54:39 PM
|
The sports I was referring to would be more like Boxing and Pro Wrestling. Not Football, Baseball, Volleyball, etc... I personally believe that watching sports is perfectly fine. I think it is when we watch shows that bring upon sin such as lust, envy, and other impure thoughts that is what is wrong. I am speaking of shows sexual in nature, even some cartoons are completely inappropriate. But as for the example you gave about the fight that everyone went to watch- I think that is horrible because they are getting enjoyment of others' pain.

Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Is praying an act of worship?

God is omnipresent—everywhere at once—and is capable of hearing every prayer in the world (Psalm 139:7-12). A human being, on the other hand, does not possess this attribute. Also, God is the only one with the power to answer prayer. In this regard, God is omnipotent—all powerful (Revelation 19:6). Certainly this is an attribute a human being—dead or alive—does not possess. Finally, God is omniscient—He knows everything (Psalm 147:4-5). Great Response!

Theology / Apologetics / Re: Numbers in the Bible

Thank you both Tom and Pastor Roger for taking the time to explain that to me. There are some fascinating comparisons to be made with the number 7 in the Holy Bible, but it's GOD'S WORD - not numerology. I hope that most understand the difference. Where in the Bible can I learn more about these comparisons?
