1  Fellowship / Testimonies / Woodroad's testimony on: February 13, 2009, 04:27:14 PM
Hello Brethren in Christ.
All my life I've wondered about God. When I was a little boy I would play and carry on like all the other kids around. But still, in the back of my mind, at times I would just wonder about God. I wondered what God was like, even what He might look like. When I would see a picture of Jesus I would ask my mom or somebody else, "Is that Jesus?" And I was always told that it was just an artists conception, not what He really looked like. All those times I would wonder about those things, I didn't realize that it was God Who was dealing with me. Let me tell you another part of my story: When the offering plates were passed around in church, mom always gave me 25 or 50 cents so I would have something to put in the plate when it came to me. I would ask: "What is the money for?" And mom, and at different times the preacher would say that it was used for God. After the offering was taken up they would always put it on the communion table until after service. I thought one day, "I'll bet I know what they do with it. Since it is used for God, they wait until everyone is gone, and then they put it in the pulpit, and it goes up to heaven where God can use it." I didn't realize that God used the money here on earth, and that He didn't need it up in heaven! A lot of my life was spent in and around church, and as a result I didn't get into drugs like so many of my friends did. I was never involved in gross wickedness like a lot of people were, but I needed Jesus as my Savior just the same, because I was just as lost as all those other people. Sin is sin, and it will separate us from God if we don't come to Him in faith believing, and repenting of our sins. That's my testimony, and I hope it's a blessing to all who read it. Amen. Smiley

Yes, I understand, Pastor Roger. I know it's up to God Himself. And I know He"ll reveal the details when it is His time. But thanks anyway for your understanding, and I'll always need and appreciate your prayers.

 Undecided Hello, Brethren in Christ.
I know it's been a while since I've been on the forums, but I'm okay. I have something I'd like to discuss with everyone, and it is this: I am currently enrolled in a technical college, and am about to complete my second degree in a technological field. I recently wrote a post entitled "ministry" in another section where I described how God was dealing with me about pastoring. It now seems that God may be dealing with me about leaving this technical college before I finish my second degree, in order to more fully use me in His work. If that's what God wants, I'll gladly do it. Would any of you that are preachers or pastors  (or even if you're not a minister) please reply to this post and advise me as much as you are able to? I WILL do what God wants, but I want to be sure of what He wants first. Thanks to any and all who are able to help me in this important matter.

I must say, my sister, after reading that newspaper article that you have had a really rough life before you came to know the Lord. I don't know if I could have lived(?) as you did in your sinful life w/o going completely crazy, but God can still protect folks even when we don't love Him. I say AMEN! to your testimony. Smiley

I'd like to thank God for saving my soul many years ago.  I never abused my body with drugs or alcohol, but that didn't make me in any less need of a Savior than anyone who did. No matter if we live in 2009, or A.D. 900, or whenever, Jesus still saves sinners that come to Him in faith believing and wanting forgiveness for their sins. I'm glad He did for me!

AMEN, Pastor Roger. I just love it when I hear God's preachers preach as God wishes them to. It's really heartening to see that God still has His people that love Him and His work.
7  Welcome / About You! / Ministry on: January 02, 2009, 12:15:38 PM
Hello, fellow believers in Christ. I'd like to say that since I'm new to this community please feel free to talk to me anytime. I have been a Christian for almost 30 years, and I've been in ministry for almost 26 of those years. Recently, God has been dealing strongly with me about pastoring, and I've already told the Lord that gladly would I do it. I sure could use the prayer help of all of God's people in this very important matter. Thanks so much.
