Joe was having a lot of problems and things were getting worse, so he finally broke down and prayed. " God, I know that I don't talk to you a lot but I need your help. I've lost my business and will probably lose my home and car if you don't help. Would you please let me win the lottery on Friday". Friday came and someone else won. Again Joe called on God " OK I've lost my business and now my home and car and my wife and children are hungry, I've always tried to live good and do what I feel you would have me do, so please God let me win the lottery this Friday". All of a sudden loud thunder and flashes of light and the voice of God called on Joe. " Joe, do me a favor, meet me half-way, buy a lottery ticket this week"

I understand what you are saying preachervern. I would stop in the VA hospital just to visit. I was seen with my Bible and was told in some uncertain (very friendly) words to please not intimidate any of the patients. Huh, imagine that. So I sorta didn't open the Bible but the words just seem to come out in the right way. Amazing isn't it. The right words at the right time. Now I wonder who made that possible .

I think that you all have been having too much fun while I've been away. Now that is bringing up some good memories. Anyone remember Clint and Cheyene? (did I spell that right ) But anyway I've had a couple of not so good weeks. Several deaths in my family and my parents are not very good. I've missed being here with you, it's always a comfort to know that all of you are here for me and my family.. I just poured a good hot cup of coffee and finally got some time to myself and what better place to spend it . I hope that everyone had a blessed Christmas and that we all have a great year.

Hello everyone, I haven't been here for some time. I would ask that you pray for my family, we have had several deaths in the last two weeks. Today alone, my cousin and my best friends mother passed on to be with the Lord. We all need strength and comfort at times like this. Thank you Love in Christ Monte

I never thought I would be selling the things I worked all of my life for, just to pay the bills but after losing your job, you do what you have to do. The person below me makes the best chile in the world !!

First of all welcome. I do understand where you are coming from. I lost my job several months ago and some of your other statements I have been there also. I will be praying for you and your family that God may bless you as it would be according to His will.
Love in Christ

Sister, your son and your family will be in my prayers. Always remember God will never be defeated in anything or by anyone. Prayer goes to Him as a pure aroma of love, once we turn from our sin He tenderly holds us in His arms.
Love in Christ Monte

Our old front door didn't have a window at all and the one now - all window, I really don't like it to tell you the truth.
The person below me can pat their head and rub their belly at the same time.

I know that I'm late, had putter problems. I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. I have my coffee and the sun is shinning here in Pennsylvania, a little on the cold side. I had a good day yesterday, my sister is with us and will be leaving on Saturday. I don't have much ambition today, I know it can't be all the ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and all of the other goodies I ate yesterday, working on me. I pray all who are traveling a safe return home. Blessings in Christ

Well I too must make one last comment, I mean after-all I started this . I couldn't agree more - FREEDOM ISN'T FREE. It cost a lot through out our history. The war front had it's blood but on the home front, a lot was given also. Many mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, wives gave so much and they shared in the pain. A broken heart is a wound that heals very slowly and sometimes not at all. We need the comfort of a loving family, which I personally have felt through this thread here on the forum. Christ gives us His love through His word. The comfort, joy and peace that He offers cannot be glorified enough. He gives us strength when we need it the most. A lot of times for a lot of us, it is in places and from family like all of you. From the bottom of my heart to all of you - Thank You Love in Christ Monte

Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Is praying an act of worship?

Brother, it may help to keep in mind that He is a loving father and friend that wants to hear us talk to Him. As Brother Tom has posted above, we have so much to be thankful for that He has promised us. The main thing is that He loves us. Let your love for Him come out when you go to Him in prayer.
When we pray we do give God all the praise and honor that He deserves. But you know, how many of us when we come to Him in prayer ever think of Him this way. "Daddy, I love you and I know that you love me, I need you, you are always there for me, always helping me no matter what is happening, you always know what is best for me and you have always provided for me. I love you Daddy.
Yes, He is our Father, our God, our creator. We need to wrap our arms around Him and love Him, just as He love us. Love in Christ, Monte

(As Christians, GOD has already given us our Promises, so we know that we are in HIS Hands for Eternity.) Amen to that Blackeyedpeas, where could we ever find a leader who will wash away all of our sins and give us eternal bliss. The coffee is hot and it's raining and freezing here in Pennsylvania, calling for snow also so I guess the coffee better stay hot . You know I still haven't figured out this insert quote thing.

Well, I can't wait for Christmas - I love the songs at church and the feeling I get. The grandchildren and all of their excitment. Last year my 4 year old grandson made this statement: Pappy, I didn't get what I wanted, so I asked what it was and this was the answer - you told me baby Jeus was born and came to save me, so why isn't he here this morning? The person below me loves music.
