Imagine a leading pastor being asked to open a public meeting in prayer—and then being told he can't pray in Jesus' name because it's unconstitutional! That’s exactly what happened to a Baptist minister, Rev. Hashmel Turner, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Hashmel was sued because he dared to end his prayers at the Fredericksburg city council meetings with these powerful words: In Jesus Name! Pastor Turner is now fighting the ACLU and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, who brought suit against him, claiming he violated the constitution by using the name of Jesus in a public place. These extremists want to eliminate any public expression of faith in our country. Thankfully, Pastor Turner refused to back down to these radical views. He refuses to accept that Jesus is now banished from city council meetings. The verdict in this case will no doubt resonate in city councils across the nation and set a precedent regarding the status of religious freedom in America. We must let Pastor Turner know that he does not stand alone in this historic battle and that thousands are praying for him and his family. Please read our letter of support and fill in the form below to add your signature. http://tool.donation-net.net/entrance/enter.cfm?dn=1065&source=2008&id=82013&commid=11597909&CFID=4807135&CFTOKEN=38343912.

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / OK Lawmaker Under Vicious Attack by Anti-Christian Homosexual Hate Groups
on: March 17, 2008, 12:48:02 AM
Rep. Sally Kern assigned bodyguard after homosexual threats; trusts in God to protect her www.cwfa.org/multimedia.asp Folks, I strongly urge you to listen to this radio program, and then contemplate the malevolence of homosexual activists who even went so far as to falsely label Oklahoma legislator Sally Kern’s son Jesse as “gay” to further their hate campaign against her. Click HERE to listen to the interview–Peter LaBarbera. Concerned Women for America published this on March 14: Oklahoma State Representative, Sally Kern (R), is under attack by anti-Christian homosexual hate groups, such as the so-called “Human Rights Campaign” and the “Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund,” for addressing the dangers posed to American culture by militant homosexual activism and celebration of the homosexual lifestyle. These groups have dispatched their minions in an effort to intimidate and embarrass Rep. Kern. Investigators are even looking into potential death threats against the lawmaker and she has been assigned a bodyguard. Matt Barber, CWA’s Policy Director for Cultural Issues, spoke with Rep. Kern and with Peter LaBarbera, President of Americans for Truth, about the hateful words and thinly veiled threats Rep. Kern has been forced to endure over the past few days.

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / PETITION IN SUPPORT OF ROMANIA’S DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE
on: March 05, 2008, 09:16:13 AM
Whereas the Alliance of Romania’s Families collected over 650,000 signatures on a petition for a defense-of-marriage amendment to the Romanian Constitution Whereas the Romanian Senate recently passed an amendment to that nation’s Family Code defining marriage as the “union freely consented to between a man and a woman” Whereas the Romanian Chamber of Deputies is expected to take up the measure before its June recess and Romania’s president has expressed approval of the amendment Whereas the bureaucracy of the European Union in the past has attempted to intimidate those member-states defending traditional marriage and the natural family Whereas Europe is plagued by below-replacement birthrates Whereas the average birthrate for the EU is 1.5 children per woman, with 2.1 needed to replace current population And, whereas equating same-sex couples with families can only weaken the natural family – which does society’s vital work of procreation and childrearing Therefore, we the undersigned pro-family leaders, scholars and activists hereby state our unconditional support for Romania’s defense of marriage. We applaud the Romanian people for taking this courageous step in defense of a divinely ordained institution which predates governments and on whose health the future of society depends. Please click on this link to sign the petition, please help our fellow Christians in Romania fight against the homocrats. http://www.worldcongress.org/WCF/wcf.petition.romania.htmhttp://www.worldcongress.org/

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / THE NATION THINKS DEMOGRAPHIC WINTER IS A PRO-NATALIST CONSPIRACY
on: March 05, 2008, 09:00:29 AM
By Don Feder 25 Feb 2008 GrassTopsUSA.com "Exclusive Commentary" According to Kathryn Joyce, sneer-and-smear artist for The Nation, those who are concerned about the worldwide decline in birthrates are -- to put it mildly -- racist, neo-Nazis, who have a hidden agenda and (under the guise of demographic winter) are engaged in our age-old quest to control women's bodies. The Nation is this nation's oldest and largest-circulation leftwing journal (outside of The New York Times, of course). Joyce's screed, "Missing: The 'Right' Babies," will appear in the March 3 print edition, but is currently available online. Joyce believes -- with the faith of one immune to facts and logic -- that those sounding the alarm about plummeting fertility rates care only about the inability of white Europeans to replace themselves. We're trying to whip up xenophobia against the continent's rising Muslim tide. Thus, demographic winter is the invention of a vast Christian conspiracy to get Europeans to start making babies again. Joyce has religion on the brain. (As a child, perhaps she was bitten by a Gospel singer.) One of the grand conspirators cited in her piece, Steve Mosher, is described as "the president of the Catholic anti-contraception lobbyist group, Population Research Institute." Christine de Vollmer of the Latin American Alliance for the Family is "Catholic activist de Vollmer," while Austin Ruse is "head of the ultraconservative Catholic UN lobbyist group C-Fam." Not just a Catholic, but an ultra-conservative Catholic? That's pretty serious. http://www.worldcongress.org/WCF/wcf.feder.080225.htm

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / UK Labour's Tax and Benefit System Penalizes Families that Stay Together
on: March 05, 2008, 08:58:16 AM

Conservative's Cameron says, "We have the highest rate of family breakdown in Europe. And we have the worst social problems in Europe. By Hilary White LONDON, March 4, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Under current UK rules for benefits and tax exemptions, three out of four families receiving state benefits would be financially better off splitting up than staying together. The Daily Mail reports that under the system set up by the Labour government, a typical low or middle income family would be £69 a week better off apart than together. A study showed that couples who stay together were 10 per cent worse off than single people last year. The second annual report by the charity Christian Action Research and Education, (CARE) said that "the couple penalty" has increased significantly since 2006/7. The group warns that the financial advantage of living apart is likely to be even higher in the future as a result of changes to benefit rules already announced. http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/mar/08030407.html

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / SHOCK: Newborns Who Suffer are "Better off Dead" - "World's Most Prestigious" Bi
on: February 25, 2008, 02:45:59 AM
"Baby is judged to be better off dead than forced to endure the only kind of life it can ever have," say authors By John Jalsevac GARRISON, NY, February 22, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In 2005 the world was horrified when it was revealed that in the Netherlands doctors were not only openly admitting that they had killed disabled newborn infants, but that the medical institution was actively promoting child euthanasia through the so-called Groningen Protocol. The protocol - the full name of which is The Groningen Protocol for Euthanasia in Newborns - lays out a set of guidelines that must be followed in making and executing the decision to kill a newborn infant. The revelation that newborn euthanasia was both common and acceptable in the Netherlands was greeted with harsh criticisms from around the world, with one Italian Minister going to far as to accuse the Netherlands of Nazism. Others expressed their disgust that many of the children who were being euthanized by Dutch doctors were children with Spina Bifida, a condition with which many people have lived well into adulthood and had fulfilling lives. A lengthy report that appears in the most recent issue of The Hastings Center Report - called by conservative bioethicist Wesley Smith the "world's most prestigious" journal of bioethics - however, strongly defends The Groningen Protocol as humane and perfectly ethical. It especially defends the ethical nature of the protocol's provisions for killing newborns with conditions that would allow them to live for many years. http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/feb/08022201.html______________________ Infanticide has finally been revived by the neopagans, i knew it would only be a matter of time before the anti-Christian fanatics would bring back all the immoral activities and perversion that prevalent during the pre-Christian pagan era. First homophilia, now infanticide, the two hallmarks of the pre-Christian pagan era. All Christians should stop just playing defense, we cannot win the Culture War with just defense, we need to go on the offensive.

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Repeal the Johnson Amendment
on: February 25, 2008, 02:41:15 AM
Because our founders believed churches were essential to maintaining the kind of Christian culture necessary for a free society in America, houses of worship were free of taxation and regulation by government. Pastors, priests and rabbis were free to say what they wanted to say about politics and the issues of the day through the early history of our nation – in fact, right up until 1954. That year, Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson, D-Texas, was facing opposition in his re-election bid from Christians and anti-communists, some of whom were speaking their minds freely from the pulpits. Johnson, a powerful figure in the Senate who would later become John F. Kennedy's vice president and succeed him following the assassination in 1963, had a solution for his own political predicament – to muzzle churches and clergy with federal regulations. Through what became known as "the Johnson Amendment," the U.S. Congress changed the Internal Revenue Service code, prohibiting non-profits, including churches, from endorsing or opposing political candidates. It should have been seen as a clear infringement of the First Amendment back in 1954, but it wasn't. And this most regrettable action has haunted America ever since. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=57224

Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / NBA Star Charles Barkley Calls All Pro-Life Conservatives "Fake Christians"
on: February 25, 2008, 02:40:20 AM
Says he supports gay 'marriage' and abortion By John Connolly MONTGOMERY, Alabama, February 18, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - NBA star Charles Barkley condemned all conservatives as "fake Christians" in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on February 15. The interview centered on Barkley's plans for a political career in Alabama, where he recently bought a house. Barkley said he plans on running for governor of Alabama in 2014. His house was purchased in 2007, and Alabama law requires seven years of state residency before a citizen may run for public office. During the interview, Barkley, 44, declared that he was pro-choice and in favor of gay "marriage." He also said that conservatives could not be real Christians. Barkley, a basketball star in the 1990s, was a Republican until several years ago, when rumors of his plans for a political future began to circulate. http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2008/feb/08021803.html
