I listen to Stephen Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Twila Paris, and Carmen. I also like the Gaithers and Southern Gospel Music since I am from the South wher we still believe in old-fashioned Chriistian values and good Christian mlusic.

I think it is a prophetic scenario about how the last day's events could unfold even though it is fiction. It has the potential of reaching many people to Jesus Christ!

I saw the movie Fireproof on January 1, 2009, and it made me cry! Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea were very compelling as the troubled married couple who needed to fireproof their marriage. I also saw Facing the Giants last night, and it also made me cry@ Both dealt with trusting God to provide and meet the needs of the married couple and single Christians as well! Kudos to both producers in providing clean, wholesome entertainment with no profanity or sexual innuendos!

Fellowship / Witnessing / Walking as children of light
|

Ephesians 5:8 says, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and and truth: Proving what is aceptable unto the Lord." How we likve is more important than what we say. We can witness with our mouths which is great, but if our walk does not match our talk, then our witness for Him is vain! Matthew 5:16 says, "Let your light so shine before men, that others may see your good works and gliorify your Father whichis in heaven." Amen and Amen!

Theology / Debate / Re: what denomination are you?

I am currently of an independent Bible church with a dispensational viewpoint, and I also am a member of the Salvation Army. I do not get steeped up on denomination but on Jesus Christ.

Theology / Debate / Re: No debate

Yeah, that is what I meant. Arguing is for the devill's crowd. Discussing issues in Chrisitian charity is healthy and edifying to the body of Christ.

Theology / Debate / No debate
|
on: August 15, 2008, 10:57:27 PM

I do not debate much anymore because Christains can get upset and become discombobulated in the body of Christ Ephesians 2:19-22 says, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jjesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whoom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit."
Healthy debate is good as long as Christian love and grace are practiced by both debaters. If we debate and divide the body of Christ over trivial matters and personal isssues, it is a bad testimony to the world that we do not truly love one another!

Boasting in the Lord is what should distinguish as Christians, not our own vain boasting and self-exaltation! The above verses say, "But he that glorieth, let him glolry in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth."
We should exalt Jesus Christ not any preacher or group of preachers! Paul boasted in the Lord and in the Lord alone!

Prayer / General Discussion / John 14:13

John 14:13 says, "And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
When we pray to the Lord, we need to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, God the Son! That may change our style olf praying and the results to those prayers!

Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."
The above verse teaches that faith comes by hearing the Word of God, not hearing music. Music is great to praise the Lord, but it does not produce faith in the hearts of unbelieving sinners! Faith that saves comes from the Word of God which brings conviction of sin and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Philippians 2:4 says, "Look not every man only his own things, but also on the things of others."
This verse should motivate us as Christians not just dwell on our own needs, but we should seek to benefit others in their Christian walk with the Lord. Praise God for His word!
