CA school forces LGBT curriculum on students Pete Chagnon - OneNewsNow - 6/29/2009 6:00:00 AM
The chief counsel with the Pacific Justice Institute is fighting for the rights of parents to opt out of a controversial curriculum.
San Francisco Bay-area Alameda Unified School District has approved a "lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender" (LGBT) curriculum for use with kindergarten through fifth-grade students. The curriculum is intended to deal with issues such as bullying and harassment. Kevin Snider with the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) says the board passed the curriculum despite the objection of 73 percent of the speakers from the community who attended the board meeting. "The fundamental problem with the curriculum is it gives a monopoly to one segment of the population -- namely gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender persons -- on the issue of harassment," he contends. "And our position is that all students deserve safe schools, and that sexual orientation is only one of six protected classes. The other classes include race, gender, religion, disability, etc.; and so we have opposed this." Alameda Unified School District is not allowing parents to opt their children out of the curriculum. PJI is sending opt-out letters to the district on behalf of parents. If the district rejects those letters, Snider says PJI will take the issue to court

Protecting Washington's traditional marriage supporters Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 6/29/2009 6:40:00 AM
A hotline has been set up to deal with harassment of people signing pro-marriage petitions in the state of Washington.
The purpose of the petition drive is to get enough signatures for Referendum 71 to force an election that signers hope will roll back domestic partnership Senate Bill 5688, granting homosexuals the same rights as married couples. Gary McCaleb is with the Alliance Defense Fund. "We've already heard reports that a group is going to basically work to intimidate voters, to keep them from signing that petition -- basically a left-wing group that wants to see same-sex 'marriage' happen," he explains. The group has threatened to publish the names, addresses, and phone numbers of people who sign the petition. That type of information was released in California after Proposition 8 was approved, and some donors to the campaign were harassed. The hotline will also be available for people circulating the petitions. "If they face threats or are intimidated or are blocked in any way from circulating those petitions, they should give us a ring [at 800-655-6592]," McCaleb suggests. The ADF attorney also says a person can file a report on the Alliance Defense Fund website.

In my home town online newspaper in Battle Creek, MI (the Battle Creek Enquirer), there was a poll with the question, "Would you be offended if a copy of the Holy Bible arrived with your newspaper? At the time that I voted, nearly 23% had voted "Yes". I wonder if the newspaper was considering doing that.
That does seem odd...

There is an old saying, "loose lips sink ships" and "a need to know" both apply in this case. Just because a person is on a congressional committee such as the Homeland Security Committee does not mean they necessarily have a need to know. Especially since many of these people are leaking information out.
I agree completely, a few convictions of treason might tighten up some of those lips.
While I agree, I hate to jump to conclusions that he would want it for those reasons, but do agree that not everybody needs access to that sort've confidential info. And you guys can GUESS my views on treason...

The Patriot Post Founders' Quote Daily "There is a rank due to the United States, among nations, which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war." -- George Washington (Fifth Annual Message, 3 December 1793) Reference: George Washington: A Collection, W.B. Allen, ed. (488)
Excellent Words form Our Founding Father, Tom-and still so relevant now...

Fellowship / Witnessing / Christian Gym
|
on: July 23, 2007, 02:44:25 PM

One of the things I feel the Lord is calling me to do is eventually open my own Christian Gym. I know this will take money, nevres of steel, and stress, BUT I feel it may very well be my path from Him. Naturally, I would love to make it Strictly for Christians Only, but that would defeat the purpose of Witnessing. I do want to stress to Members, though, that we are there not only to serve the body, but the soul. I would have the best workout equipment, along with Christian Personal Trainers, and an atmosphere where you could feel comfortavle discussing the Lord or praying before or while working out (which I always do-even silently). May take awhile to catch on, but I feel I could eventually make it work. Would also offer as much discount as I could to Veterans, and would make programs for folk who are not bodybuilders or atheletes-fitness is for everyone! Any suggestions, ideas, or disagreements even are welcome!
