Jesus, eternal Savior, God and Lord, whose mercy shines so bright; It breaks through sin's darkness, with great redeeming light. He comes to those, who sit and suffer in the pit of sadness; He touches them, and fills their hearts with gladness.
Jesus, eternal Savior, God who became flesh, You are holy and divine; You bestow Your blessings upon us, and on us, You let Your goodness shine. Through Your Word and Spirit, transform us, make us new; Revive us, move our lips, to sing praises to You.
Jesus, eternal Savior, for our sins, You suffered bitter pain; By Your death and resurrection, we have the richest gain. Through Your saving work, You cast the devil from his throne; You have redeemed us. Through Your blood, You've made us Your own.
Jesus, eternal Savior, send down on us, Your Spirit, we pray; May Your Spirit guide and keep us, so that we'll not fall way. May the Spirit ever guide us, in all that we say and do; Let the Spirit inspire us to use our gifts in service to You.
Jesus, eternal Savior, never leave nor ever forsake us; May You daily come to us, and in Your arms, take us. As we make the journey, daily watch over us with love; And when our earthly journey is done, take us home above.
Jesus, eternal Savior, God and Lord, of whom the angels sing; They proclaim Your to be the everlasting King. With the sacred assembly, we together, our songs are raised; We humbly bow, and say, "0 eternal King, You are to be praised."

Savior, I come humbly in prayer unto thee; I am able to stand, because thou hast reached down and touched me. O' my Savior, for the care of my soul, I look to thee; Blessed Savior, Always take care of me.
When I suffer afflication, and I am preplexed by fears unknown; Where shall I go? I flee for refuge to thee alone. When I seek peace from my fears, I look to thee; Blessed Savior, always take care of me.
Poor I am, and at times, forsaken. Yet I am thine; There is no greater joy and peace, then in thee, I find. Yea, all my joy and blessings ever flow from thee; Blessed Savior, always take care of me.
Weary, I come to thee, and I lay my head upon thy breast; Through faith in thee, I have a promised rest. All comfort and assurance come from thee; Blessed Savior, always take care of me.
In the long journey, I'll suffer no pain or loss; Daily, do I always behold thy holy cross. All my hope and faith is built upon thee; Blessed Savior, always take care of me.
Savior, for my sins, thou suffered and was crucified; Through faith in thee, I stand redeemed and justified. The gifts of forgiveness and salvation ever come from thee; Blessed Savior, always take care of me.
Through this earthly journey, I'll walk and have no fear; I am at peace, because I know that thou art near. With thy hand, thou wilt always guide me; I hear thou sayest, "Fear not, I will take care of thee."

I greatly rejoice in the blessed Savior, who gave Himself for me; Who on the cross, died so that from the curse of sin, I would be free. He has given to me a new and redeemed life that never ends; I can say, "Jesus died for my sins."
Since in my earthly journey, I still struggle daily with sin; I need to hear the old message over and over again. I need to hear and to believe the Gospel truth that never ends; I stand on this sacred truth, "Jesus died for my sins."
At times, I've had many sorrows and pain in this earthly life; I've had disappointments and have endured hardship and strife. I need that old message that brings a courage that never ends; I am strong because, "Jesus died for my sins."
Yes, this is a message that I cling to each day; For it gives me the strength, so that I'll not fall away. This message has a truth that endures, and never ends; To all I will declare, "Jesus died for my sins.'
In Jesus, I have a solid rock and a foundation; Through faith in Him, I have the gifts of forgiveness and salvation. I now have a blessed peace that never ends; I'm joyful in this truth, "Jesus died for my sins."

Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / I STAND AT THE CROSS
|
on: July 18, 2007, 02:54:53 AM

I stand at the cross, there, I gaze at Christ hanging on the tree; As I behold my Savior, I realize that He died for me. For my sins and my guilt, Christ went all the way to Calvary; There at the cross, Jesus suffered and died, from sin, to set me free.
My good works could not my soul, redeem or save; On my own, I could not overcome sin, the devil, and the grave. I must depend on Christ, to redeem and set me free; I must look to Christ, for the hope of eternity.
I stand at the cross. I gaze upon His loving face; I realize that through faith in Him, I'm saved by grace. I sorrow that my sins were the cause of His bitter pain; Yet, I know that through His death, I have richest gain.
I stand and I gaze upon my Savior, Christ the crucified; Through faith in Him, I stand redeemed and justified. For Jesus died, to take my gult away, and for my sins. atone; Through His death, and His blood, He has made me His own.
All that I have. All my treasure, I count but loss; I come before Christ, and I cling to His cross. I stand and I look upon Christ, who for my sins, died; I bend my knee, and pour contempt on all my pride.
Through His innocent blood shed, He took the stain of my sin away; He satisfied a debt that I could not pay. For all His love, I shall surely rejoice and sing; I shall forever bless and worship, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
O' Savior, when I ponder Your mercy and Your love; And when I reflect upon all Your blessings from above. How can I ever begin to ever thank you? Here Lord, take my life in service. That's all that I can do,

Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / LET JESUS CHRIST, BE PRAISED!
|
on: July 09, 2007, 08:06:14 PM

We gather together, as a sacred assembly, in the holy place; Together, as the assembly, we celebrate with joy, God's grace. Let the saints rejoice. Let the glad anthems be raised; We sing in triumph, the song of joy; "Let Jesus Christ, be praised!"
We praise Him, who in glory sits upon Heaven's golden throne; We together, acknowledge Him to be God alone. Let the saints rejoice. Let the glad anthems be raised; We sing in triumph, the song of joy; "Let Jesus Christ, be praised!"
We praise the One who willingly laid His golden crown aside; Who became man, who for our sins, suffered and died. Let the saints rejoice. Let the glad anthems be raised; We sing in triumph, the song of joy; "Let Jesus Christ, be praised!"
We praise Him, who in victory and power was raised to life again; He crushed the powers of death, the devil and sin. Let the saints rejoice. Let the glad anthems be raised; We sing in triumph, the song of joy; "Let Jesus Christ, be praised!"
We celebrate the One who gives us strength in times of strife; We bless the One who has open to believers, the door to eternal life. Let the saints rejoice. Let the glad anthems be raised; We sing in triumph, the song of joy; "Let Jesus Christ, be praised!"
All glory and honor, to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be; All praise and thanks be to God, though all eternity. Let the saints rejoice. Let the glad anthems be raised; We sing in triumph, the song of joy; "Amen! Let Jesus Christ, be praised."

Theology / Bible Study / FATHER, I STRETCH MY HANDS TO THEE-PSALM 130
|
on: July 08, 2007, 10:54:46 PM
|
On of the most comforting psalms of the Old Testament is psalm 130. The psalmist speaks of confession, mercy, and forgiveness. The psalmist speaks clearly to us. He points our hearts and minds towards God. In this psalm, the psalmist stretches his hands to God.
OUT OF THE DEPTHS, I CRY TO YOU.
The psalmist does not mention what was troubling him. In this psalm, he called out to God from the pit of despair. He was weighed down and burdened. The only one he could turn to was God. Where else could he go? In his time of need, he stretched out his hands to God. He pleaded with God to hear his plea,
The psalmist is not alone in his cry of anguish and pain. There are many people who are suffering in the pits of pain and despair. There are many people who are suffering with illness, with depression, or with addictions. Whatever the struggles might be, people are indeed hurting and in pain. People are crying out, people are looking for help. No matter what these people try to do on their own, they just can't dig their way out of the pits of despair. The pit of despair and hopelessness seems to get deeper and deeper. The person with the addiction tries to get clean, but can't. The person with an illness, can't find a cure. Whatever the struggles might be, people cry out, "God, where are You?"
The psalmist, in his pain, knew where he could turn. He stretched his hands out to God. He turned to God, because he knew that God would help him. He knew that God would lift him up from the pit. He had faith, and knew that God would deliver him from his troubles.
When you cry out to God, He will hear you. He is not blind to your struggles. Stretch forth your hands to Him. He invites you to come to Him with all of your burdens. Hear His words of invitation; "...Call on me in the time of distress. I will rescue you, and you shall honor me." (Psalm 50:15) This is God's invitation to you. He wants to bear your burdens. Just stretch out your hands to Him.
MAY YOUR EARS BE ATTENTIVE TO MY CRY FOR MERCY
In his plea, the psalmist sought God's mercy. In his plea, he cried out, "O God, show me Your mercy." He turned himself over to the mercy of God. He knew that in God's mercy, he would find deliverance.
We too, can find mercy in God. He will be attentive to our cries for mercy. He will not turn a deaf ear to our pleas. Do you have a pressing need that has been weighing on you? Then call on God. He will hear you, and He will answer your plea. God is full of compassion and mercy towards His people.
IF YOU KEPT RECORD OF OUR SINS, WHO COULD STAND?
What if God were to keep a score card of all the sins that we commit? Who would be able to stand before Him? Our sinfulness would prevent us from standing before God. Because of sin, we would suffer death and separation from God. On our own, we cannot remove the stain of sin. We cannot earn our salvation. Because of sin, we would be cut off from God forever.
BUT THERE IS FORGIVENESS WITH YOU.
God showed His mercy upon us. Through His dear Son, Jesus Christ, God worked out our salvation and our forgiveness. Through His suffering, death, and resurrection, Jesus won for salvation and forgiveness for us. He has made these gifts available through faith in Him, Since we daily struggle with sin, we need the forgiveness of sins daily. This bless truth of forgiveness puts the soul at ease. Through forgiveness, we receive the blessings of God. As the Scripture says; "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered." (Psalm 32:) Let us stand in awe of God's forgiveness and give Him our praise.
I WAIT FOR THE LORD, MY SOUL WAITS, AND IN HIS WORD I DO HOPE.
In your journey, always wait on the Lord. Be patient, and trust in Him. He will answer your prayers in time. He will strengthen you and bring you through the times of trouble. Stand on His Word, and put your hope in Him. This is a hope that is built upon Jesus Christ, and will not fade. When you are struggling, stretch forth your hands to God. Call upon Him in prayer. Cast your cares upon Him. He will hear your plea. He will grant your mercy and forgiveness through faith in Christ. He Will reach down and pull you up from the pit. Just stretch out your hand to Him.
