1  Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / Eternal Flame on: May 21, 2007, 10:06:18 PM
Eternal Flame, does it flicker?
  Does it waiver and dim?
Or is it my focus, my thoughts on a whim?

With the Light strongly shining,
  Why do I think thus,
And distort His Glory with worry and fuss?

I've seen that His promises
  Do always come true,
Then look away, turn away, and I'm feeling blue.

Should I really e'er question
  The Light shining forth,
Or realize my view is what's falling short.

I will have to admit it,
  The problem is mine.
Yes, God who so loved us hasn't waivered one time.

I agree with this.  I've been a believer since 1972 and the Crossdaily chat room over a year ago was pretty wild.  Perhaps they "bounced" alot of people since then....hope so.  True seekers I don't mind, but the ones just trying to yank people's chains....we don't need that.  Don't cast your pearls before swine....

Yes, and pray for discernment as to when it is time to shake the dust off your feet.....

Thank you for taking the time to give thoughtful consideration to the question, everyone.

I am trying Worthy Boards, but we'll see how that goes.  So far, it's interesting, but I will keep my eyes open.
I really enjoy the idea of being able to possibly help someone who is teetering on the line of stepping into the Faith to make that step.
But that will be up to the Lord's leading, I only want to be available and open to the idea.

Blessed Lord's Day to everyone!

The coffee at church tasted so good!  And the food of the Message was even better!  God be praised!

For all of you who are experiencing infirmities of the body, your focus is such a blessing to me, and I count it a privilege to be of the same Household of Faith.

Have a blessed day, everyone!

Well, doesn't that absolutely make perfect sense to you?  Angry

I have visited many chat rooms and haven't found any that I would recommend. Most of them go with a supposed Christian forum that allows all sorts of pagan teachings on them.

Thanks for that quick response, Pastor!

That's a shame.  But that is exactly the kind of things I've heard.  It's too bad there are no good ones out there.

I just was wondering if anyone has any input as to the location of any DECENT Christian chat rooms.
I enjoy these boards, but can't usually sit here all day waiting for a response, and thought chat rooms might be enjoyable.
I'm kinda new to all this stuff, and have heard some pretty bad stuff about chat rooms, so don't want to do anything that would not be beneficial.
Input, anyone?

GrowingInGrace,
I want to encourage you to not let the talk that your in-laws are doing about you behind your back get to you.  I know it's hard, and I'm assuming your wife is hearing it, is she?  Is she the one telling you what they are saying?  I hope she is if she is hearing it.
One of the worst things we do to ourselves is let what others say about us negatively affect us.  Do not fall into the trap of discouragement by allowing their opinion hinder what God is doing in your life.
If you can put your focus on God, and get back to finding the joy and peace he offers, that will allow you to really glean the blessing He has for you in this trial.  Do not buy into Satan's trick of discouragement.
Remember God's love for you.
He truly cares.  Even if people are talking.

They'll argue, they'll fight, they'll kick it around,
All the while saying no proof can be found,

That a God who created us all does exist.
Are they really so blind they can't see all of this?

Do they really examine the fruit in the tree,
Or the magnificent journey of a small honeybee?

Have they ever considered the gift of their mind,
To ponder on nature and the essence of time.

The wonderful structures that some men have made,
Weren't built by a donkey or a tiny grass blade.

No other of creatures has imagination, deep thought;
To process ideas and carry them out.

Just the fact they are thinking should open their eyes,
But they choose to ignore their heavenly ties.

Yes, man is the one whose image was made,
In the likeness of God, and it's us that He bade,

"Have dominion over all of the fish of the sea....."
Not act like we're monkeys upside-down in a tree.

Gina, your value is immeasurable.  You need to understand how much love God has for you.
I know you just don't feel loved, and I know you don't feel worth being loved, but you need to understand God's love needs no explaining.  It makes no sense to human minds, we none of us are worth it, yet it is REAL.  Please do not measure your value through the eyes of those who are around you, but only through God's eyes.  In Him alone will you really be able to understand just how valuable you are.
You know, there is something about His timing that I've been having my eyes opened to, and I believe I've been blessed to have found this site so I could just tell you how much love I have for you as a Sister, how much I want to be able to help bear your burden.
This is not a life we live in a vacuum.  We do have an impact on others, and what you are going through can be turned over to God for Him to use in order to bless another.
These are not just words.  I have to believe my experiences will be used to help others, and you need to believe the same.
May God's abiding love rest on you in ways you could never imagine.  That's my prayer for you.

Sounds like it's time for a refill.

The PM option had to be discontinued due to people coming here with the sole intent of abusing it. Unfortunately in order to stop them it has caused an inconvenience for regular members. It was a decision that was made after a long period of continued abuse.

Thanks for the refill, and I'm sorry to hear about the message abuse.  It would be nice to be able to use that option, but I agree that protection for the innocent is of utmost importance.
15  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Coffee Time! on: May 07, 2007, 01:24:25 PM
Just wanted to let ya'll know I'm staring at the bottom of an empty coffee cup..................

And, I was just wondering why the PM option does not work.  From someone's response on a post, I get the impression it did work at one point.
Am I being too nosy asking about it?
