1  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Huckabee in GOP top tier on: December 27, 2007, 02:00:24 PM
This is a very long thread, so I didn't read all comments.  However, I read enough to conclude that most here are in support of Huckabee.   I find it extremely difficult to believe any of the candidates.  Most will say and do anything to garner votes.  Once in office, who knows?  I will say, there is something about Huckabee I simply do not trust.  The fact that he is a minister is irrelevant.  There are countless charlatans in the pulpit, and the Bible warns us of such.

This is absolute absurdity.
3  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Glass Houses... (written by: Wendy Symonds) on: December 27, 2007, 01:34:26 PM
Very nice.  Thanks for sharing.
4  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Should Christians be watching violent sports? on: December 27, 2007, 01:31:41 PM
I have always had an aversion to violence, and avoid it as much as possible.  I have many Christian family members and friends who enjoy boxing.   I personally have always considered it a barbaric form of entertainment; but that's just my opinion.  However, I am a huge football fan, although I realize it can be dangerous.
5  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Don't Let It Happen To You on: December 27, 2007, 01:13:52 PM
I don't believe we can ever "do" enough.  As others have mentioned; if we are only doing good in expectation of rewards from God, it serves no purpose.  God knows our hearts, and He knows our motives.  He wants us to have altruistic motives for our deeds.  When we give to others from our heart, we aren't concerned with rewards.

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

LOL

I used that for my sermon tonight. Cheesy

That's quite a coincidence.  Cheesy
7  Fellowship / You name it!! / Twas The Night Before Jesus Came on: December 24, 2007, 11:08:33 AM
I haven't been here lately due to a crazy schedule; but I wanted to send Christmas greetings to everyone and share a poem my mother gave me.

Twas The Night Before Jesus Came

Twas the night before Jesus came
and all through the house
Not a creature was praying
not one in the house.
Their Bible’s were lain
on the shelf without care…
…in hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be The Day!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! Returning just like He had said
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said “It’s not here” my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There’s only one life and when comes the last call
We’ll find that the Bible was true after all!

May the joy and peace

of His presence

be with you until

He comes again.

GOD BLESS EVERYONE!
8  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: California Governor & Attorney General Say Marriage can be Eliminated in Future on: August 28, 2007, 10:03:34 PM
Could this story just be a back door way of pushing for the legalization of homosexual marriage because they are sneakily making people choose the lesser of two evils?

My sentiments exactly!  This is another tactic to erode Christian values and God's will for the sanctity of marriage.
9  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: This is no joking matter.... Iran on anti-racism committee on: August 28, 2007, 09:51:00 PM
I am speechless.
10  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: News Sunday Aug, 26 on: August 28, 2007, 09:48:04 PM
Sounds like the "Big Bang" missed a spot.  Or could it be, "This space for Rent".  Or could it be, Scientist discovered they had forgotten to remove the lens-cap from their telescope and offered appologies.  Grin Grin Grin

11  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: See the Moon turn red on: August 28, 2007, 09:45:50 PM
I'm sure it was an awesome sight.  I think these are incredibly exciting times.
12  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Ford ups gay support with more cash donations on: August 25, 2007, 11:34:48 PM
I've never owned a Ford, and now I know I never will.
13  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Louisiana school district streamlines prayer policy on: August 25, 2007, 11:31:03 PM
Many of the aclu and their supporters are atheists.

That explains it all.  I didn't know that, but considering their strong anti-Christian stance, I'm not surprised.
14  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Mexican rigs ready to roll on: August 25, 2007, 11:27:31 PM
Pastor Roger, I totally agree.  That is precisely why I recently changed from Democrat to Independent.  It's sad, but we really have no good leadership.
15  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: False Christs, Prophets and Teachers on: August 25, 2007, 11:21:09 PM
That's him, Pastor Roger.  He even looks evil.  Benny Hinn is indeed a charlatan, and whenever he comes on TV I immediately turn the channel.  He is a despicable character, but unfortunately he has quite a following.
