1  Fellowship / You name it!! / Preachers/Christians with chronic illness on: January 27, 2006, 12:40:58 AM
Hello friends,  I am a preacher who has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  While I am waiting for my body to be healed by God, I need some emotional and spiritual support.  I'd like to get in touch with other preachers or Christians who really know how it feels to be misunderstood by healthy church members.

I am part of a internet book reading club that will be finishing "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.  Great book!

Each member of the club read one chapter per week then emailed their answer to  the question at the end of the chapter.  I really enjoyed this experience and now I am thinking of starting a new group with a book by Joyce Meyer.

If you are interested, email me abluvsjesus@yahoo.com

God Bless,
a.b.

Grin  This birthday page has been a riot!!  Thanx for the laughs!

Hey, what do ya think about this scripture?

Proverbs 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.

HA!  I will have to seek the Lord for revelation on that one! Smiley

7  Welcome / Questions, help, suggestions, and bug reports / Re:Are there any grants for ministry? on: March 29, 2004, 10:01:23 PM
Hello there, it was so nice to read all the comments.  Thank you so much!

Keep up the great work, Pastor Bruce!  Hurraaaaay for Jesus!!

As for our ministry, we are starting a Kids Bible Club with four of my adolescent cousins and their friends.  We have 2 faithful adult members.  We are looking for a small building that we can afford with the present income from tithes and offering of the members.  We are holding leadership planning sessions and God is giving us new hope and motivation to keep
working in his vineyard.  As for the grant, I have not found anything along those lines, yet I praise God that he has enabled us to trust him to meet all our needs according to his
riches in glory...

God Bless You A Whole Bunch!! Smiley

Does anyone know if Mel Gibson has recently made a committment to Christ or is he just a nice guy who believes in the Bible?

Hello, my husband and I are considering adoption.  Are there any success stories you can tell me?  Is there a trustworthy adoption agency you can refer me to?
12  Entertainment / Books / Re:Notes on Purpose Driven Life on: January 20, 2004, 11:54:04 AM
Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is a book that has 40 short chapters on how to get your life on track, according to the Word of God.  Some people read it everyday for 40 days; some read a chapter each week; some join a study group.  I read a chapter each week and I have joined a study group via
internet.  Each member emails their comments on each chapter.  We are currently on chapter 24.  I am enjoying the fellowship very much.  This book has helped me to focus on God's purpose for this life and lay aside my own vain plans.
13  Entertainment / Books / Re:Ted Dekker on: January 03, 2004, 07:31:47 PM
AMEN to that!!  I'm surprised more people have not read his work!  I have a cousin who is not saved and she loved "Three"
She read it in 3 days!  And said that it would make a good movie and then went to the library to get another Ted Dekker
novel.  You never know, his books may be a way to witness to
others...

His next book is due out in Feb; it is the first of a trilogy.  I'm looking forward to it...

Happily reading,
ab

The lesson of 2003 and continuing is KEEP MY BIG TRAP SHUT.
Trap is a good word for the ole mouth of mine, cuz what I say
often snares me.  While reading the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, I learned a good definition for gossip: passing information when you are neither part of the problem nor a part of the solution.  I needed this definition so now I can get my tongue in line witht the Word of God.  I want to learn to speak words that minister grace to the hearers. When dealing with matters of the heart, conflicts at home or church, I want to comment only when the Holy Ghost tells me to and to say what he leads me to say... Lips Sealed
15  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:Best time to pray on: December 29, 2003, 04:42:02 PM
I have the same prayer plan as Whitehorse - pray thru out the day and I have an hour set aside 6 days a week.

Pray on, saints!  We're availing much by the power of God!!
