1  Theology / Debate / Re: Does Paul Contradict Himself ? on: July 01, 2006, 07:56:39 PM
The 2 compliment each other not contradict.

most believers will tell you that the bible which is the word of God can not contradict itself so upon closer examination the assumption that a superficial out of context contradiction is reveled to be seemless.

Quote
Gods law was refereed to by Christ Himself and should be obeyed, Christs commandment is in addition and while we are saved by Him, we can not ignore the moral law of God.
And is one of the reasons I keep the 4th commandment, the 7th day sabbath.
I do not keep the 7th day sabbath to be saved, but because I am saved, and love Jesus enough, to do what He says to do. Because the 7th day sabbath is the test of loyalty, towards God Himself...as He says it is

Quote
At the same time we have to keep some things in context, like why eating of some things was forbidden in the OT and OK in the new.
Just remember that when Christ comes again, He will destroy those people eating pork and other unclean items, (Isaiah 66:15-17)

Social conditions have to be accounted for when interpreting the bible, just as today.........however moral law never changes

The short version.
2  Theology / Debate / Does Paul Contradict Himself ? on: June 27, 2006, 10:56:06 PM
Galations  3:24   Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
3:25   But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

And yet, over in Romans we read:
Romans 3:31   "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law".
Is one right and the other wrong ?

3  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: No Rapture: Tommorrow...Next Month....Next Year on: June 27, 2006, 10:46:51 PM
Sorry NorthStar, I disagree with your opinion.
That's OK..... You're allowed.

2 Thessalonians  2:8 And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by His appearing at His coming.

2 Thessalonians 2:8  tells what Jesus will do, later on at the battle of Armageddon.  Revelation 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Quote
Lets look at the next verse you didn't post.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 The coming [of the lawless one, the antichrist] is through the activity and working of Satan and will be attended by great power and with all sorts of [pretended] miracles and signs and delusive marvels--[all of them] lying wonders

You notice the "coming"  That shows this is also a future event.  You are right about something though.  No one knows what time, but the Father.  Matthew 24:36 But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.  Mark 13:32 But of that day or that hour not a [single] person knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Which is why we are to live, as if He will return at any time. Including today, tommorrow, or next year.
As scripture  says...anti-christ must be revealed first....before Christ comes again.
4  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / No Rapture: Tommorrow...Next Month....Next Year on: June 25, 2006, 12:24:06 AM
How in the world can I say such a thing as that ?

Well, it is based on Bible prophecies that must happen before...Jesus Christ can come again.

Matthew 24:3   "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming,(Parousia) and of the end of the world ?"

Matthew 24:27   "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming (Parousia) of the Son of man be".

Matthew   24:37   "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming (Parousia) of the Son of man be.
24:38   For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
24:39   And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming (Parousia) of the Son of man be".
QUESTION:   If Christ compared His coming to those days in Noah's time.....what happened to those who were not saved on the Ark ?
In other words, one class of people were destroyed, and one class was saved....all happening at the same time, in the same event.
*******************************************************************************************************************

2 Thessalonians  2:1   Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming (Parousia) (Parousia of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him,
2:2   That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
  2:3   Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2:4   Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
2:5   Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2:6   And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2:7   For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.
2:8   And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming" (Parousia).

Did you notice.......that this Bible verse shows ....that the man of sin was to be revealed...FIRST....before Christ comes again ?

The Mark of the Beast scenerio must also come before Christ returns...as Revelation 14:9-12....14-16 shows.

5  Theology / General Theology / Re: Am I a Legalist ? on: June 25, 2006, 12:00:48 AM
Northstar,

You'll only be ignoring the cross ...
Actually, the cross of Jesus Christ was to pay the sin debt for me, which wiped out my past sins, enabling me to live a life without being dominated by sinful habits.
When Jesus said: 'go and sin no more'...I believe Jesus means what he said, don't you ?
6  Theology / General Theology / Re: Distortions & Lies satan wants to Spread on: June 24, 2006, 11:43:27 PM

The Devil has infiltrated the professed church with manmade traditions and false doctrines.
True, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 11:14,15.....satan comes as an angel of light to the Christian world selling his brand of religion.

Quote
When a Christian studies and obeys his Bible, he is free from the millions of distortions and lies told inside and outside of churches.

Then tell me....why does not the Christian world observe the Lord's Day...the 7th day sabbath...as Jesus Christ ask Christians to do ?
7  Theology / General Theology / Re: Am I a Legalist ? on: June 08, 2006, 10:44:27 PM
Regarding your questions, I give thanks every day for all that changed with JESUS and the Cross. JESUS CHRIST is our Sabbath, and we rest in HIM 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I give thanks for that and I'm glad that it isn't limited to just one day a week. It's all days every week, and this is true for eternity.

For all eternity we will be keeping the 7th day sabbath Holy....in the New earth, (Isaiah 66:22,23), just as the Lord intends for us to do here, on this earth, in the present day....as per Christ's intructions.

I want to show my loyalty to Jesus, by keeping all 10 commandments, including the 4th.
8  Theology / General Theology / Am I a Legalist ? on: May 07, 2006, 08:31:42 PM
I want to keep all 10 commandments as found in Exodus 20:3-17.
WHY ?

Because Jesus Christ asked me to ...in John 14:15.....
"IF..you love me, keep my commandments"

Is it wrong to do what Jesus asks ?

I want to be one of those people that the Bible describes, as a saint.....
Revelation 14:12   "Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus".

I want to be allowed into heaven.....
Revelation  22:14  " Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city".

I don't want to be counted, as a liar !
1 John 2:3   "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
2:4   He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him".

I believe this Bible verse applies to me, as a Christian.....
20:20   "And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God".

Again, I ask....Am I wrong to do what Jesus asks of me ?
9  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Why Did God Reject Israel ? on: May 07, 2006, 08:14:23 PM
Matthew  21:33   "Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
21:34   And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
21:35   And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
21:36   Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
21:37   But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
21:38   But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
21:39   And they caught him, and cast [him] out of the vineyard, and slew [him].
21:40   When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
21:41   They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out [his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
21:42   Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
21:43   Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
21:44   And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
21:45   And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
