Thanks for your welcome. (I must have been in a daze yesterday - couldn't spell my username now corrected)
I'm genuinely surprised that there are still people convinced that Saddam actually possessed WMD. Like many I did believe it at the time he was giving Hans Blix the run around and defying the UN. I believed our PM Tony Blair when he led us to believe we were in iminent danger of attack!
We all now know that the facts were twisted & exaggerated and people like scientist Dr David Kelly who dared to voice his deep concerns to the Press paid with his life.
Now many more lives are being, and will continue to be, lost daily - our troops, Iraqis queuing to help Police their country, aid workers, contract workers, anyone unlucky enough to walk past the next bomb......where does it end? What has been achieved? The removal of a ruthless dictator....yet we do nothing to free the people of Zimbabwe from Mugabe's cruel regime.
We invaded another country without justification - simple. If there had been evidence there it would have been produced within a very short period of time after the invasion. Now we are stuck with the obligation to finish what we started. How long do you think democracy in Iraq will take to establish?
I suppose this topic caught my attention because it's as if it isn't bad enough that we are left in this mess without some sort of 'cloak and dagger' intelligence summit who claim that they have such crucial information that they can wait another MONTH to reveal it.......how many more atrocities will have happened in Iraq by then?
