Theology / Apologetics / Re: THE JESUS PAPERS

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
Our struggles not against flesh and blood, keep the Armor free of leaks and keep pressing on Saints, keep the Sword of the Spirit sharp, pray without ceasing, keep on seeking Him, carry the Cross.
I was listening to a radio program, I think it was Focus on the family, and they had a man on there that wrote a book about what was in the book that was wrong from the so called "code". I was not going to see the movie and encouraged my wife not to want to see it from what I had heard about it's way off direction. But this man made a good point about how can I witness against it if I had not seen what errors they had made in the so called story. He said they confuse the ways of the early church and felt that if people did not know much about the early church then they will probably be clouded.
So if I put that light on it, get the armor on, and go in with the counter attack thing in mind, then out will come the truth, that I know in Him. The code, now the new one I learn on this thread, "the Jesus papers" and now the Gospel of Judas. Well now, it tells me, all hell must be trembling, for he knows his time is short. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But some will fall prey to this junk, I praise Jesus, God is in control. It tells me and reminds me to keep on praying for them I know that know Him not. For them to be drawn to the knowledge of the truth, and the truth will set them free, and to plant them in the good soil. And keep pressing on in the truth, in Him, and pray without ceasing. Blessed be His name.

Greetings Brother's -- About Joel
Yes, I too, have had some thoughts in that area, but as you said God is blessing his ministry. But I have heard him preach too, he says that "This my Bible" thing which I know by heart. He always locks into the Word, from what I have heard, I also listen to him on the net. And when he is done with the broadcast he always gives that call to Christ, and prays for them to find a Gospel based Church. It's a simply prayer, but he makes the call, the rest is up to their choice and the Father. But I don't agree with them ministries that make the Father as to the likes of a gum machine. Blessing's by the worlds standards maybe in materialism, but, Paul mentioned about being content, that's how I govern my walk. If He blesses me, blessed be His name, if not, Blessed be His name. I'm already blessed by what Jesus did on the cross. He gives and takes away, but I do see ministries not going into that part of the Gospel, which is to "Carry the Cross". It's as if you see a pick out what will tickle the ears and instead of the Word, touching one's heart. There's not a perfect church or ministry, or however you want to call a gathering of the Saints, to worship and be taught. I know the Lord, polices His own, that's where I leave it and pray for them. There are some big, well blessed ministries these days, and still a lot of people here in the states, hungry, homeless, or a paycheck away from it. I'm sure there are ministries that run it as the Gospel has guidelines for in giving to them that suffer, and are without. At least thats what I hope and pray for. I guess the evidence would be that the area's around their ministry would not be in poverty, or in big decline in that area. I wonder if there is any proof of that out there? But I also know this truth, "God is in control". What I may not hear in the sermon, someone in the Church may have needed too, praise Jesus. I pray what I hear is Spirit led.

Theology / Debate / Re: JEHOVAH WITNESSES
|

Greetings, Just a few views I believe of Peter:
Point 1 Peter was just a man, we all can relate to him, we have all probably had a season as he did. Some say he backslid when he denied Him, in all we find that Peter did in the Bible, there were times he was making mistakes. Which we all can relate too! Your notice in these next passages here that Jesus told them to go and tell His disciples that He had risen, you'll notice He pointed out Peter. Lam 3:22-23 Lam 3:22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lam 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Could you image how Peter must have been feeling, it is written in legend that Peter broke into tears everytime he heard a rooster crow. The Lord knew how His friend was feeling, that's why he pointed him out.
Mar 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. Mar 16:7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. Point 2 Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Peter being the rock, that started on the day of Pentecost, I believe.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Act 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
This was the foundation of when the Church was born, James headed the Church in Jerusalem. The Word does not say anyone was a "Pope". The same is what has been said about this issue, but this is what I believe happened and why he was called the rock, the first stone laid was at the day of Pentecost. Peter preached and 3000 were saved and baptized, the Church began. Jesus is the foundation of the one true Church, the rest of us are the Church body, no matter their office.

Greetings Tundra,
There are some good post here on somethings that might help as well, in Saved What Happened, on this thread maybe a page back, and Satan, lies and cheating, this one tells how to crucify the flesh and what it means.
Because of our love for Him, we develop a relationship with Him, which starts with prayer, Matthew 6:33, "Seek First His Kingdom", for short. Reading the Word, Faith, the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen, goes along with another post you made. For people who come to Christ, new believers, I guide them in these simply ways of seeking Him, we do it always because of that hunger to bring joy to the Father and to grow. Keep pressing on, and read them post, please your get a lot out of them. Start your day with Him, first, pray on the Armor of God, as that is written in Ephesians 10-20, read it out right into a prayer, everyday before you start your day, the Spirit will start to reveal things to you as you do, the Word gives revelation as we meditate on it, memorize the 23 Psalms, repeat it though your day. Also get a study Bible, like the Life Application Bible, New International Version, it is real good for new believers. I have given many of these Bibles out to new and old and they have grown because of it. The commentary in it really helps bring folks along. We are all growing everyday, every moment. The thing is we press on even when we miss the mark, ask for forgiveness, learn from that grace given and press on, "Grace makes us grow". He loves us, Jesus understands us, He came in the flesh, it wasn't nails that held Him to the cross, it was love, He knew it was the Fathers will, love obeys, and that is why we do the things that righteous people do, because of our love for Him and listening to the Spirit inside us governing our way. There are other post that will shed light on things for you but them two I mentioned will really help you believe me. we have all been where you are at one way or the other.
May the Lord, bless thee and keep thee Only Always for Jesus in the love of a brother ggamble

He says that Jesus has to accept us before we are saved. Now I have been drawn by the Spirit, I did go to the alter, and I did confess my sins and ask for forgiveness. Even after all of this, how do I know that Jesus has accepted me? After I left church that day, it still felt like something was wrong. I don't know what exactly. Was it because Jesus didn't accept me? I don't feel the peace that I have heard others speak of. I sometimes feel like I'm going crazy because I constantly wonder whether I have been thinking a particular bad thought long enough for it to be considered a sin. I end up asking for forgiveness for everything 24/7. It's very stressful. [/quote]
Greetings Super,
From what I sent ya, and what your read there, is why I gave ya what i could brother, from that part of your post, some very deep perplexed things seem to be going on with you spiritually, I've been there "going crazy" struggle, this is how you fight it, it was all for you from Him, done in love for a brother, no offense, just if you want victory, get vocal with the enemy and renew your mind with Christ.
in the love of a brother Only Always for Jesus, God bless you friend ggamble
Something from Oswald Chambers for today from my devotions, made me think about some of your questions:
THE TIME OF RELAPSE "Will ye also go away?" John 6:67
A penetrating question. Our Lord's words come home most when He talks in the most simple way. We know Who Jesus is, but in spite of that He says - "Will ye also go away?" We have to maintain a venturing attitude toward Him all the time.
"From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him." They went back from walking with Jesus, not into sin, but they relapsed. Many to-day are spending and being spent in work for Jesus Christ, but they do not walk with Him. The one thing God keeps us to steadily is that we may be one with Jesus Christ. After sanctification the discipline of our spiritual life is along this line. If God gives a clear and emphatic realization to your soul of what He wants, do not try to keep yourself in that relationship by any particular method, but live a natural life of absolute dependence on Jesus Christ. Never try to live the life with God on any other line than God's line, and that line is absolute devotion to Him. The certainty that I do not know - that is the secret of going with Jesus.
Peter only saw in Jesus Someone to minister salvation to him and to the world. Our Lord wants us to be yoke-fellows with Him.
v. 70. Jesus answers the great lack in Peter. We cannot answer for others.

Friend,
Here is a study I did the other day, that might help you, also The Lord woke me up to bring this to ya.
For Him, God bless ggamble
Today's Proverb: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6 / KJV
_______________________Gam’sCommentary________________________________
This is a verse that has so much power packed in it’s 27 words. Trust, this what the Lord uses to build our faith. Then the foundation of our belief, with all thine heart. Jesus wants us to endure and stand firm and believe with all of our heart in faith, in all that is in His Word. Then there is a clue, or secret to fighting the spiritual battle we war against our flesh in everything the eyes of our heart may muster up in thoughts.
Gal 5:16 - 17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Lean not on unto thine own understandings, praise Jesus, this is the Word the Spirit gives me and addresses me to crucify my flesh, to cast that thought down and out in the name of Jesus. The battle is for our mind to take our focus of Christ, and God’s will for us. Our natural mind wants to go it alone and do things in the carnal way of self thinking. In all thy ways, deny ourselves from going into the carnal way of thinking, surrendering, acknowledging Him. Allegiance, to Jesus comes with this act of obedience, renewing our minds. Then out comes the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, as Jesus did in desert. The use of the scripture and slaying that captive thought and bringing it into obedience to Christ. Renewing the mind to the mind of Christ, Holy sanctification. With these acts of obedience, it empowers the Holy Spirit, and He shall direct thy path.
Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him:
Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled.
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created Him:
As Joyce Meyers says, "Make our mind, mind our new reborn mind, and that’s what renewing the mind is all about.. Also in this piece of the Word we find our alertness as written in Ephesians "Armor of God".
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:18 Pray in the Spirit in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert. Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of God's people.
If our thoughts are in the mode of dwelling, or trying to figure out something that should be given to the Lord, there is the clue, the alert buzzer goes off, then there we go into praying in all prayer, the battle rages on, and we fight the good fight. We find the several marks of discipleship here. Being teachable, using our authority, allegiance, fruit, {it produces fruits of the Spirit in us} the evidence of our love for Him, {through obedience}. Then the work of the Spirit for what it does in our witness to being His.
There are other scriptures that weave together from this verse to it’s wisdom: : 2 Corin. 10:3 - 5 / Romans 12:2 / 1 Corin. 2:16 / Is 26:3
All it’s His voice we are hearing when this one is manifested in our thoughts by the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
Isa 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Coming to the likeness of Him, this produces a victory to victory walk, glory upon glory. Love in the natural is very hard to commit to fully at rest in trust, but not with Jesus, if we only believe Him and His Word. Then in Heaven, image Jesus saying "Well, done good and faithful servant".
-----------------------------Only Always for Christ Jesus our Blessed Hope--------------
Pray on the Armor of God, in Ephesians 6:10-20, read it right out in prayer all of it and use it to fight the good fight, I do not start my day without the armor, I pray it on in Faith, and out of obedience, because he put it there for a reason. Our only defense is the Sword of the Spirit!
May God bless thee and keep thee Only Always for Jesus in the love of a brother ggamble

Lightsavour,
All praise goes to Jesus, I all ready got the only reward I ever wanted, to be with Him, that's being blessed. You need some one to be accountable too, brother, another brother that walks it. And yes, I'll be praying for you. But you need folks close to you praying for you also. That 15 months I talked about with my wife was not just all easy for any human being, she would tell ya the same. That's when we have to carry our cross for them we love to see it, because they are in denial and Satan knows it and he feeds them, and it can get awfully ugly at times. You are getting tested too! Lets put it this way, your relate to Jesus with all the affliction that comes with it. But persistant prayer, seeking Him, trusting Him, no man would have gone through it and I didn't, Jesus did, my feet were fitted in the Gospel of peace. But He woke her up, opened her eyes, I loved her as He loved me, unconditionally. But, it's always our choice, we can learn the hard way, or with a little less drama. The options are always there before the flood, repent and walk up right and keep seeking Him, and suffer Him no more, deny yourself and follow Him. When that temptation comes, remember do you love Him? Peter, what a man, we all can relate to him.

PART II
1Co 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. Do you know the enemy and all his ways, only God knows, and His Word is our only weapon. For me to know what the enemy has in store, well, I would never be so bold to claim that, because first I put the I in there, and how much experience do "I" have in coming up against him, he is powerful, hes been at this, like from the beginning ! And with that attitude of heart, get ready, because some chastisement & humbleness is forth coming down the road. We are to be alert, Ephesians 6:18. Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Is getting high, or drunk fruitful? Would ya smoke a joint with Jesus? Or get drunk with Jesus? Not with my Jesus would you. He went around the least, like me to sent us free. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Repentance and deliverance is there, going to elders and having them pray over you and the laying on of hands and you wanting to be free, then the truth will set you free, it is a stronghold, wanting to get high. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down strongholds, cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing everythought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Cor. 10:3-5
Do you pray on the Armor of God? As is written in Ephesians 6:10-20? We have to crucify our flesh or make our thought life to that of Christ, and that takes time, faith, and obedience to the Word and will not be complete until Christ Jesus returns. Eze 36:31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. 2Co 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Rom 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. Rom 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Common sense here, will do -- deny yourself -- it takes surrender.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. That's what this thread is about, a thought of getting high, cast it down and fill it with Jesus, The Word, Jesus is the Word. Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Pray this. Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. What a promise! I gave this one to my wife almost 15 months later she was delivered, Praise Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pro 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favor. Justification is mocking sin! Surrender is the answer, we have to stop fighting God, others, and ourselves. I've seen it happen, I know where you are at, and you can only fight by being obedient and stay right with the Lord, seeking Him, prayer, the Word, renewing the mind { making our mind, mind our born again new mind} worship, staying away from areas where you might fall, that means giving up friends sometimes, who might only be ponds of the enemy in the first place. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, how deep you want to go then that, brother? Fear the Lord, it's better now to take that grace from repentance, and learn from it. Remember He is in control, and He will chaste, I know that for a fact. Remember, do you love me? May it echo in your heart always I pray friend in Jesus name. The Greek word for "stronghold is echo and it means to hold fast.
Heavenly Father, Our Almighty Abba, God, blessed be Your name, Lord I pray for this man, May the "Words of Christ dwell richly in him in all wisdom, understanding, knowledge and teachings, and may the truth, truly set him free. I pray Father God for this man to be set free from the deception in his nature, and he be blessed with the truth in revelation to the passions and disires of our Lord Jesus Christ that he may draw closer to thee with a sound mind truly hearing your voice. May he be delivered Lord from them wiles of the enemy and them desires of worldly comforts of drugs and strong drink, if his heart also agrees Lord free him from them bonds and strongholds Satan has placed against him. For Your Word Lord says the truth will sent us free, and by Your stripes we are healed, I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen
May the Lord bless thee and keep thee Only always for Jesus in the love of a brother ggamble

Greetings Lightsavour,
What you have been given has been nothing but the truth of God. If your looking for a "Thou shall not smoke pot" or "Thou shall not get high". Your not going to find it worded that way. But you said you want to get deeper in the revelation of the Word. The scriptures given you, go deeper, the understanding is there, prayfully go in it. If you want to know from someone who has been worst places then your 10 times getting high, well, here I'm, I've done more than just smoke pot. If you got conviction about it then there is the Holy Spirit. {Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isa. 30:21 KJV} 2 Peter 2:20,21, tells what happens when one gets in a state of darkness by their own choices, how ever long it takes to get to that state well, thats depends on lots of things and the situation and the grace that kept you safe thus far. But one can go on in a state of rebellion, keep on smoking pot, or what ever. Then that will happen, trust me. Then there is this thing called "the fear of the Lord", which they failed to look at for what ever reason, to go their own way. I believe we can get quick judgments in order for us to Finely "SEE IT". From the Lord. That's in God's hands how it comes but it can come believe me, I've seen it, I've witnessed it. Because we are His and as Father, He will chaste us because He loves us, so we will "SEE IT". Before we knowingly sin, we always get a warning to turn from the temptation. Before you lit up that reefer 5 days ago, you got something like that, did you not. {Is.30:21} kinda thing. Sometimes we get some seaweed on us, like Jonah, look at what happen there because he went his own way.
Heb 4:12 For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (KJV)
Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. {This one should be enough, to tell any brother, about if getting high is ok, there are the soils, which one are you in? There are a lot of verses from our Lord, that say "If any man". Check them out. And about hearing from God while your high, it takes some discernment of the scripture, which is a gift and is the Spirit giving you revelation of it. And I told you of a sound mind. The weed buzz, well, I have smoked, hash oil, cinse, Columbian redbud, Gold, in California through the 70's in the 80's hash in Germany, and more weed cloned here in the states, I've probably had it at all levels. But to say I had a sound mind, High, cannot say that. It's stronger than a six-pack will do to ya. And that's the bunk, ditch weed. I'm not proud of my choices, I was lost and kept high because of my choice, it's an idol, no matter how you look at it. It's illegal, so there's a no brainier, it's not God's will, no matter what the world says about it, The high is your master, Satan arranged it but you took it. And the Word says he who is double minded can expect nothing from the Lord, the Word is the truth, so were you hearing from God, only in conviction if it were so. Your in the enemies play ground being buzzed, sorry but that is the truth. And I cannot believe one will hear from God, high, the Word don't back that for gaining wisdom or understanding or revelation of His Word. Your in sin, you are not going to hear anything, until you repent, and remember God knows your heart, if you are not going to walk right and not get high, and seek Him, then its not truly repentance. I've seen people do this also, then God woke them up, jail, harm, out of the blue urine test and lose their jobs, so perplexed they think they're were losing their minds, its the enemies turn, he gets both sides of it, to kill, steal and distroy. If your hanging around people with familiar spirits connected to your weakness, then your in a place you should flee. Because your setting yourself up for a fall, the Bible tells about that also. An act of obedience would be to flee. Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. So what's this verse say about getting high, well, my flesh is weak to smoking pot, and my flesh wants to do it, {dwelleth no good thing} I want to do it {for to will is present with me} how to resist I cannot do it on my own, Paul says that next. which is true, we must pull or draw on the Spirit, how ever the Spirit brings us the scripture, do I want to glorify God, and will this bring joy to the Father, questions the Spirit might give me, in one way or the other. Then there's that thing He told Peter, do you love me? Now do I get high? Do you see all that in that verse? Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Our only blessed hope, our Lord Jesus. 2Pe 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. I'm I going to be that dog or that sow?
