Prayer / Prayer Requests / Help please! My husband still won't accept that God has forgiven him.

Hi everyone. My husband is still having problems with accepting forgiveness from God. He still feels like his "sin" was worse than anyone else's and the no matter what God will not forgive him. My patience is about to run dry. Does anyone know of a good book I could get for him to read that would help him spiritually (besides the Bible)? He's been a Christian since 93, and knows the Bible very well. And he was (is) a preacher. We had our own church a few years back. I literally do not know what to tell him anymore. He always has a comeback in the other direction. And he continually asks me if he's going to hell. I'm like, hey, I sin too, but I know what the word says to me. I hate to continue to be a burden to all you great people, but I'm at my wits end! Thanks, Samantha

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, The we in this scripture is those who have accepted Jesus as their savior, right? Are we all doomed? I ask all who are more educated in this to reply. I really need a greater understanding of this scripture. Thanks a bunch, HIC

Hi y'all,
I feel like I've been on a roller coaster and I can't get off!
Hubby is so spiritually low, and I don't know what to do for him, other than continuing to pray.
Thanks to all who have praying for us.

Thank you for checking in on us. Today, his "sin" was brought up again. People who just want to gossip. Although it is true, they don't need to be talking about him. Every time "it" is brought up my husband can't sleep, and the doubts come creeping back in. I humbly ask all the prayer warrior to intercede on his behalf to get him through the night. Thanks for listening! HeavenIC

Thank you all for remembering us in prayer. We are still looking for a church to attend, but its hard to do in a small town. We are looking for one that will work for all of us, the kids, and Terry and I. I have a strong hunger for God and all that He has for me, and I want to keep learning. And I want to find a spiritual church. Terry is doing a little better spiritually. He still has days where he doesn't feel forgiven, usually when he sees someone involved with his "problem" . But I think that is to be expected for sometime. His health is another issue. We thought maybe he was getting some better, but he is not. The chest pain is getting worse, with the pounding of his heart getting to be more of a bother at rest. He has an appt with the dr. tomorrow, and I pray that they can do something for him then. Thanks again for thinking of us during this time of turmoil. May God Bless each one who comes through here today! HeavenIC

Husband got saved in 93. Lived a close walk with the lord until he got sick in nov 05. Been praying for his healing, and its slow coming. Anyway, with him being sick, his guard has been down, and with not reading, praying and such like he did before, the one thing in his past that he had a problem with has come back 10 fold and he is having problems with it. He feels like if God "hated" Esau, then He (God) could also "hate" him, too. Because as he says, he knows the word. But I have run out of patience. Somedays its like arguing with a brick wall. (Anybody know what I mean ) On top of all of this, he slipped and did something not really "bad" but some people took it wrong, and now we don't have a church to go to. And hubby feels bad about this too. But I was with him when he prayed for forgiveness for that, and I know that he has repented over that issue. Long story. How can one feel God's forgiveness, when the world (Christians, church family) won't give it? Thanks all for your replies to my question, the answer helped me if no one else!

Hi everyone. I need help with this verse. If God hated Esau, is it correct to say that he could hate me? Especially if I have fallen back into a sin nature? (actually, it's my husband, he keeps bringing up Esau) I don't know how to help him anymore. Thanks, HIC

Example of should we sue?
My father in law (FIL) went to the VA Hospital to have open heart surgery approx. 4 yrs ago. We have no proof but when we got to see him after in ICU he was bruised on one side and had a goose egg knot on the back of his head. My mother in law (MIL) who just happens to be a registered nurse asked him did he know how it got there. Of course he doesn't, he just had major surgery! We seem to think that they may have dropped him moving him from the operating table to a gurney. Anyway FIL says he won't sue VA because they are taking care of him. Fast forward to this March, 2005. FIL goes to VA for routine colonoscopy (SP?). MIL asks them to check his heart because of past surgery, they don't, while having polyps removed without any type of anesthesia, he proceeds to have another heart attack!. His heart stops, they bring him back, and put him in ICU. While in ICU, his care is sloppy, nurses try to give medicine incorrectly, MIL is watching and stopping careless nurses, who are getting mad at her in the meantime. FIL is having trouble breathing due to fluid on lungs, but nothing really is being done for him. Approximately 2 nights later, a nurse deems FIL able to be placed out on floor because he can tell her his name. She puts him in a regular room with another man and leaves him. He starts to not be able to breathe and rings his bell but no one comes to help him. The man next to him calls for help and finally someone comes and they put him back in ICU. MIL wakes up from sleep worried and calls hospital only to find out all of this is taking place. VA says they can't do anything for him for two weeks and sends him home. 2 days later he cant breathe and hasnt' slept in about a week, so MIL takes him to closest hospital to us, who draw fluid off of lung and look at the damage to heart and say he needs more heart surgery. They keep him and do surgery nextday. VA turns down paying local hospital, saying it was not an emergency. It takes about two hours to get to VA hospital from our house. Hospital bill is now 140,000.00. Should he sue VA to pay local hospital? I would think so, just for what they owe him in pain and suffering, he should never owe for going to the VA ever again.
Now should he sue for millions of dollars? No, but if they did him this way, how many others get the same treatment? If they would have taken care of him in the first place, he wouldn't have had to go to the other hospital.
Please pray for them about this situation, the local hospital is wanting their money soon, and I think it's a crying shame that it turned out like it has.
