Fellowship / For Men Only / Re:Lust

This has to be the most difficult time to go thru puberty for boys. With the over-explotation of sex being so commonplace, it's hard for a young boy to escape it. Every teenage (and younger) girl wants to dress and look like Britney Spears with 'Booty-liscous' on the rear of her pants, or the barely there see thru tops. It is no wonder that the youth of today can become so directionless and lost in a sea of perversion.
For starters, see if your church has a youth group and GO. You will meet good christian girls there and build lasting friendships with other people your own age.
Realise that lust is a normal male reaction and learn to subdue the desire. If you don't learn to control it now, it will control you later.

I remember years ago, 'Big Daddy' Don Garletts used to race with a 'RFC' decal on the front of his cars. I heard he didn't get as many sponsors as others, because he refused to be sponsored by beer or cigarette companies.

The Pope is ill and in the hospital. Even though I am not catholic, I do have a high degree of respect for him and his work over his many years in office. Please keep him in your prayers.

I did a little more reading on them, and they just keep getting stranger and stranger. I think it is safe to say that they are just trying to make money off of using the Lord's name, so in that respect, I would have to agree on it being Devilish in nature.

Kitara, How is your search for a church going? I wanted to give my church an update this last Sunday, but I hadn't heard of anything new. Please keep us posted as we are all praying for you.

They must be men. I've never found anywhere in the bible where on the way down from Heaven that they stopped to ask for directions.

Kit, I sent your story to my church, and you will be on the prayer list soon. Please keep us up to date on how you are doing, as we are all very concerned about you and want you to be the happy, joyful person that you should be.
Have you had any luck finding a church? It may take a while to find the one you like, but the search is worth the journey. You are walking hand in hand with the Lord, even if at times it doesn't feel like it.

We always were praying for you Kit, that's why you came home.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matthew 7:7
If you give me your last name, I'll add you to our prayer list at church.

I think that is the best way to look at it. Honestly look at the faith objectively and then see if in yourself you feel the holy spirit in that church. Then you will have an unbiased opinion of them. It's easy for people from other denominations to pick apart faiths and practices different from there own, but is that what the scriptures want us to do? We are all christians bound together in brotherhood, without the labels of Catholic, Baptist, Mormon, Mennanite, Quaker, and others.

Anytime, We are all here to help.
As far as which christian faith to choose, well I look at them all as just different roads all going to the same place. Heaven. Now, which path you choose, Catholic, Baptist, Episciapalian, Mormon, ect is up to you. My sister in law as was my wife, raised Catholic. She changed to Pentacostal, and my wife and I are Baptists. We each choose the path to heaven that we most enjoyed. I would sugest going to a couple different churches in your area, and talking to the priest/ pastor, and just talk to them. Ask questions and see if the spirit moves you to that church or not.

8)Well that's easy. You see you cut the coupon out of the comic book like we did as kids when we saw the 'Mickey Mouse Club' and send it in with your check for £9.95, and in a couple weeks you get your 'God Fan club' membership card, and your secret decoder ring that helps you find the hidden messages in the bible... OK, just being cute, sorry if it offended you. I believe that it affects people differently. For me, it was the realisation that the world didn't revolve around me and my petty problems. That there is a grand purpose for me in God's plan for the world. What it is, is hard to say. It may be someting I'm suposed to do in the future, or maybe I already did it and won't see the fruits of it for years to come. Your knowledge of the bible doesn't matter. There is more to being a good Christian than being able to quote scripture at the drop of a hat. It's can you take the words and put them into practice. I have one sister-in-law, who I respect very much. She is a poor woman with 3 children, one who is mentaly challanged. But she has such a love for the lord and a love to do good things every day that is just so amazing. Since her conversion, she just lights up the room when she walks in, and it's amazing to watch. How does God answer your prayers? The best thing I can recomend is to rent the DVD of 'Bruce Almighty' and look at the deleted scenes. There is one of Morgan Freeman and Bruce talking and he is critiquing what Bruce did with the power. He shows that he had let one poor woman win the lotto, and now she was on the beach living the high life, but God's plan was for her to stay poor, and rejoin with her sister that she hadn't spoken to for years. We may not know what prayers God answeres for us, and we may not like his answer either, but God has our best interest in mind when he performs them, weither we know it or not. How do you pray corectly? That's easy, just pray from the heart, feel what you pray. Find a good church in your area, and go to just the bible study groups in the morning, until you feel ready to go into the mass. You will meet wonderful people who are just as scared as you, who want to learn more about the Lord, and also want to share their faith with you. Feel free to send me an email if you like. I may not be the best biblical quoter, but I would be willing to try and help you.
