1  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Submitting to Husbands on: September 18, 2004, 12:24:28 PM
Ya know..I had a problem here for years..till just a few months ago.

1. God demands the husband to be the head of the household. Let me explain this.
The husband is held Accountable. This takes alot off us.  Now lets say for instance We say..Honey I want to go to Church.  He says no..we have no car to get there.  He will be held accountable for this. (not us)  this doesnt mean we shouldnt use commen sense. Lets say our husband tells us to do something like rob a bank. (huge exageration I hope) Knowing its wrong..we should take a stand.

This does not give a man any excuse to see us as a slave. Like a man says GET ME A COKE! bad bad..  As women are treated Right..we do things like this because we want to.  We clean because we want to. We like to make our men happy. More so if they make us happy.

Marriage is a partnership.  My husband takes off the lids off those jars that I cant.. I sew up his socks if he gets a hole in it. Not because we want to.. but because we love each other.

He helps with the kids..I know when I have had it..Im going to blow.. he will often tell me to lay down.  He picks up the slack when im down for the count..I do the same for him.

Many false intrepretations have gone into the submitting thing.  I am glad your searching you knowledge here. :-)
2  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:abusive relationship on: September 17, 2004, 07:02:44 PM
Well...first and foremost..this is a issue that means so much to me.  I sent you a private msg. Please read it.

I will begin my life story here.  Please take the time to read it.

I was raised in a wonderful Godly home.  My parents loved me. I was going somewhere in my life. Then I fell in love. God put every single obsticle in my way to deter me. I didnt listen. I eloped with him.  I wont put everything that happend the 11 years that followed. I will tell him that in the 10th year my unborn child died as a result due to the abuse.

I was scared to leave him.. Very scared.  But..I knew that was the only way out.  Very few men and women change that abuses victims. Those that do need hours and hours of anger managment. One of my best friends was shot when she tried to be friends with her  abusive ex husband.

Now.. my 2nd marriage.. was abusive. God turned him around.  Hes now a wonderful man of God

1. God Tells us to love each other as he loved the Church.
God came in love, not anger.

2. hitting someone..throwing someone around etc is not a demonstration of that love.

My best advice.  in the blue pages of the phone book there is a domestic abuse hotline.  They will help you get out. They wil tell you what you need to do. follow thier directions to a T.

6  Theology / Debate / Re:Domestic Violence Against Men in America on: September 15, 2004, 10:42:50 AM
This post touched my heart.  I am a survivor of Domestic Abuse.  15 years of it to be exact. I have been in 2 shelters for it. The 2nd shelter I was in, both men and women were in. (and children)
I want to point out some things to watch for in both Men and women.

1. Low self esteem (more so if they had a positive one to begin with) (alot of abuse can be emotional and mental)
2. victims will alienate themselves
4. long sleeved shirts..even in the summer.

Now most people think that abuse is just hitting or battering. I have been at both ends of the spectrum by 2 different men. Emotional is much much harder.

Yes I have seen even women who abuse the men..they take it and take it.  There are places for men and women to both reach out for help.  Its hard in either way.. being now there are so many women crying wolf that it makes it harder for a legitimate case to get help.  No one.. NO ONE has to suffer this. I will find the links I once had and post them here.

And although my first husband never changed,  My 2nd husband came to know the Lord.  For 2 years now he has been a changed, wonderful Man of God!!! We have rebuilt our entire marriage.  God has been so good to turn everything around for us as he has!  Now I just try to educate others what to look for.

For any and all men and women suffering this.. dont be scared to come out and talk.  We are here for you!  Share with us what you cant tell anyone.  There is help out there for you.

I just bought their CD 3 weeks ago! Its awesome!! I cant quit listening to it! My favorite Tracts on it:
What if people prayed. (love the oprah line)
Praise you with a dance
and who am I.

They will totally minister to your heart and life!
8  Fellowship / Witnessing / Re:Don't Give Me Jesus on: September 15, 2004, 10:26:43 AM
When I saw the title of this post i was like oh???
But when I read the words I was so touched.

This is how I intrepreted the poem. (not to say anyone is wrong)
Every day we all witness... but
how do people see us.
Perhaps I ran into you at the mall.. I handed you a tract and planted that seed.  3 week later you run into us on the street and ask us for a dollar..  What if our reaction is get lost bum!
Or would we say: "Come  with me..theres a coffee shop right around the corner."

In my Christain walk I have been hurt many times by other Christains. What it spoke to me is.. its more then what we say for Christ, its what we do..and what we dont do.

Lovely words!  Please know I am not lashing out against anyone..just sharing my view.
9  Fellowship / Parenting / Re:Making time for mom on: September 15, 2004, 09:16:11 AM
awww first of all... Your not alone!
My son started kindergarten this year..and im home with my little one.  I have a car now...but my husband hasnt taken the time to get me to take my drivers test.  (My license expired when we moved to FL..we are back in TN Now)
Now..yes I dont have time for myself. I have to stretch it between 2 small children and 3 dogs.  Smiley
Now.. the people at church are Wonderful I adore them...but I havent made any friends either. I dont think they look at us with judgment as much as... they dont know how to relate to us.  Its easy for others to make presumptions about us before really getting to know us.  Like one person liked me..always talked to me before the found out I did web pages and fixed computers.  All in a sudden they quit talking to me. I dont get paid for what i do..i do it cause its my gift God gave me. I  use my talent for him and not for personal gain.  I get depressed over it..but I also pray for the Lord to speak to the person/persons that act that way.  Feel free to vent to me..i know where your at. I sometimes climb all 4 walls.  I even take 5 mins and lock myself into one room of the house where no child can get to me as soon as he gets home.  He understands I need the 5 minute break. After that Im refreshed till thier bedtime.  Grin Wink
10  Fellowship / Parenting / Re:Internet rules for your family? on: September 15, 2004, 09:08:36 AM
I hope I can shed some light on internet rules here for anyone.  I used to work for a free shard of Ultima Online.  Now as I got to know many of the kids here I was shocked and appalled of what goes on when the parents backs were turned.

Kids would stay up past midnight to play on this Game.  For anyone that doesnt know this game, I will explain the concept.  First..I am NO LONGER with this game. God convicted me and I left long ago.  You create a toon.. you choose the hair and skin color.  NOw you have all kinds of skills to build.  Archery..blacksmithing etc.  You have to work endless mouse clicking hours to get your toon powerful.  You click so much that for many kids, it becomes a reality. You can build a house from the ground up. The more powerful the more arrogent the kids become.

There was this 10 year old on this game..devout Christain parents.  But.......His language was appalling. I was shocked to see what came out of their mouths.  I had to report a 50 year old woman carrying on a love affair with a 16 year old boy.  He was planning on marrying her.  His parents of course..knew nothing about it. I also had no success in getting his parents email information.  I was going to report it to them as well had I found it.

I sat and watched this for years, thinking I was making a difference in these kids lives.  Some of the kids say that I did make a difference. I would get on to them if they logged in from school to the MSN messenger. I stayed on them about their homework.  But the day came when I could no longer do it.
My children will Never touch the internet unless I am there watching.  We always hope and pray and never think it will happen to us. The sad fact it can. It Will.  So many preditors out there.. they are rampant on the internet.  Maybe when my kids get 16 I will allow them on under supervision. Much like dating. I never had a date till I was 16.  That was the rules and I accepted it.

Anyways.. thats just my outlook on it.  I have seen so many children waste their years of youth in front of a computer screen when they should have been outside creating memories that would last them a life time.
11  Welcome / About You! / Re:Hello..Im new here :-) on: September 15, 2004, 08:59:26 AM

15  Fellowship / What are you doing? / What I do on: September 14, 2004, 01:05:33 PM
Well.. you can tell what I do by my name. I wont post the site here because I dont want to advertise.

I design web pages for free to anyone promoting the word of God.  What brought me to this? I was in the chat rooms for years, even the gaming realm.  When it came down to it, I relized how much time I squandard not using the internet the right way.  The Lord spoke the name to me in church one day. I really didnt find it catchy and tried many other names. I humbled myself and took the name the Lord spoke. This is Gods Ministry, Not mine.  Many of my friends and family doesnt understand why I do it free.  I know I will get my reward in heaven. There is so much trash on the internet now, that I just want some sites to get up that honor the Lord.  I am praying for even some great teens that I can do a site for. Young people on fire for the Lord really does my heart good!

The Lord has been so good to me in supplying me with what I need to do what I have to do.  Hes supplied everything I need.

Im really enjoying browsing this area. Great to see God at work in so many lives!
