Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Aliens Among Us edited by Jack Dann & Gardner Dozois
The Illustrated Sherlock Holmes Treasury by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
The Number of the Beast by Robert A. Heinlein
Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard
Martin the Warrior by Brian Jacques
The Gospel According to John
and Cloud of Sparrows by Takashi Matsuoka,
all of which are outstandingly good with the possible exception of Aliens Among Us--a collection of classic sci-fi short stories that range from gripping (e.g. "The Other Celia" by Theodore Sturgeon) to downright sleep-inducing(e.g. "Among the Hairy Earthmen" by R.A. Lafferty). Also, The Number of the Beast gets a little raunchy now and then, but it's nothing too bad so far.
