A state trooper sees a vehicle on the interstate doing 33 miles an hour and pulls the car to make sure everything is all right. When he approaches the driver he discovers that it is a nun. "Excuse me, sister. But are you alright ?" He asked. She replies, "Oh, yes officer. We're just fine. Was I doing something wrong?" The officer says, "Well sister, you were traveling way under the speed limit and I was concerned that you might be having car trouble or something." "But officer", the nun interrupts, "I saw a sign there about a mile back that said 33, and I know I wasn't going any faster than that." Chuckling, the trooper says, "Sister, that was a state highway route marker, this is State Route 33, not the speed limit. The speed limit signs have a MPH at the bottom." "Oh, now don't I feel foolish!", replied the nun turning red. "That's ok, but please try to be more careful, I would hate to see you get hurt", finished the officer. Then as he turns to say good-bye to the nuns in the back seat, he notices for the first time that they are trembling violently and quite pale. "Sister, what is wrong with your friends? Can I escort you to a hospital ?" "Oh, no, they're all right. We just turned off of Route 150."

Throughly enjoying this thread!!! It is so refreshing to see wives 'bigging up' (term used in Jamaica for lauding) instead of dissing their husbands. 'Bigging up' fathers is a rareity, thank you Willowbirch! My husband I know for a fact is the best. I was explaing to a friend that... my husband is my gift from God; not only do I love the wrapping (He is quite handsome, eheh), but I love what is inside of the wrapping (he is very dependable and caring). He got home early today and called me a work to inform that he was preparing my favourite dinner. I was like for the remainder of the afternoon. Now I am He just knows how to make me smile and l keep loving him more than I thought I possible could!

Yep, He is a wonderful Saviour indeed I also find myself reflecting on this same part ... I just want to add here, if the Lord has put it in your heart to pray for someone, please don't stop. Their very life and eternal life may depend on it... also. It is very good that you can spot real talent. Continue to do so because there are many talented persons all around who just need to hear some-one to say well-done or to encourage them to continue.

My, My, my. Is it 'co-incidence' or does everyone here has a knack for writing? Throughly enjoyed that. It reminded me of a time (since becoming a Christian) when I had so many questions but no answers. Knowing that something was missing from my life but not sure what until one day He revealed to me that I needed to really open my heart to Him. I will never forget that experience, such joy, love, comfort happiness. And then I wept; I watered my withered heart with tears that soothed and nourished and beckoned a sprout. From chains my tongue was loosed, and I sang with a joy long forgotten, and remembered the hidden road to prayerThank you Jesus for using WillowBirch to remind me of that day. Leaving for now, I feel the praises coming on

Even the words I write and the scriptures that I recite seem empty.
My heart broke when I saw that quote by you and it reminded me of period in my life shortly after I came to know the Lord. Codell, have you forgiven yourself? have you really forgiven yourself? think about it. God has forgiven you. YOU ARE FORGIVEN. Therfore, what is happening to you I believe is not God punishing you but the consequences of your actions. Remember, He loves you unconditionally and He has not rewarded you according to your sins.
You said that you are a very private person ---sometimes we just have to release what is inside of us so that God can pour in what He wants to give.
This is good step that you have taken and I encourage you to just open up your heart to Him and allow Him to have His way in you.
Do you love Jesus? (All things happen for good to those who love the Lord--Something good is going to happen)
You are in my prayers.

Hi,
I hope you don't mind me responding. As a mother of a 11 year old and a 7 year old I can defintely relate to what is happening. When they misbehave like that I normally ask them two question, 'Do you love God? who are you obeying when you behave like that, Jesus or Satan?' It usually works because they KNOW what God expects of them.
As Corpus said earlier it is very essential that BOTH parents model the type of behaviour they expect -- including saying 'I am sorry'.

Hi Peachy,
Praying that God will reveal His plan/purpose for what you are going through. After all, when we know His plans it makes us joyful in enduring and hoping in our circumstances. 'The hotter the battle, the sweeter the victory'
You are a very special person, Don't forget that.
