1. We only need this post ONCE, ok.

2. The Country may have not been founded on the rights of man, but the ideas where taken from the Moral if the Bible.

3. The Judges are a part of the Judicial Branch of the Government, and sense we are talking about rights, it is their right as members of the Judicial Branch to impetrate the law as they see fit.

Actually, I was thinking wheel, to be honest. I guess they slur and butcher the English Language so might in this part of Texas, I can’t even quote them right, lol. Not a fan of fishing, anyways. Grin Thanks for the note, though.  So Gald I'm just passing thru Grin

They also claim they do not pray... lol

God can convict there spirit, and I’m sure he will once we plant the seeds.  As a Baptist, you believe you are right ,and as far as you know, you are. Now, maybe your right, maybe you are not, but you have to keep in mind that the people of other Regions and beliefs feels the same way you do about there Beliefs. They belief they are right, and we are the close-minded fools who needs to be convicted. We have to learn to approach them, or arsenals full of kind but honest replies to their every word and comeback. If we don’t know much about what they believe, then how we expect them to listen to what we believe!

As for Tattoo’s, lets read this verse in context, as you know I love to do. It seems to be taking about the doing this to honor the dead. Also, lets look at the 2 verse before it:

19: "Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material."
26:"Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it."

Tell me you have never worn a blend. Most clothes now a days are Cotton, Polyester blends! And the majority of the people I know like there steak with a little red in it. Leviticus is full of little tidbits we don’t follow. So, if we can’t get tattoo’s for that reason, then we are going to have to also resort to eating burned steaks and wearing less presentable clothing.

It is really a question of Letter of the Law vs. Spirit of the Law. Me, I’m on the fence. I don’t like Body Mod personally, I don’t even plan to get a Tattoo or piercing, but I’m still undecided as to wither it is sinful or not.

I've even wondered about this among sports-playing Christians, where winning is the real or only object.  Does it enhance, or sour potential relationships?  If winning isn't the object, how do you keep it from becoming that anyway.    But I guess that's the point--sportsmanship, and how to respect the other person while still winning(or losing).

Good question. I think they need to understand the Zen and Art of the Sport they partake in, they need to understand a holistic approach to it all. If God will help win battles he can help win games. All sports majority apply to life. How need Confucius, you learn life lessons from your sport if you let it teach you. Look at the preacher who play a sport, and LOVE that sport with all their heart, they will bring up points, and the example will be with that sport. For true Athletes, the Winning is in end result. Many not Athletic people forget this, because they don’t train as hard, but the Jocks know, The Journey to get there is many times more trying then the test it self. And, if you ask many Jocks, a lot of them will say they enjoy the training more!

And your right, sportsmanship, Bushido, Chivalry, whatever name you give you code of honor, you learn it in sports. You learn to trust your team, trust you boys.  There is an unwritten code of honor many Athletes uphold. It is a shame that code doesn’t last to the pro’s many times... Angry

2277  Theology / General Theology / Re:Buddhism on: July 26, 2003, 12:30:01 PM
No your question was can a Christian practice buddhism?  Starting to tell me what a buddhist would answer tells that A) they aren't Christian and B) IT's a deffierent subject to preach Christ to pagan religion, than whether or not it's ok to be a buddhist and a CHristian.  To which the answer is stil a resounding NO.

It is common for Buddhist to say "You can be a Christian and a Buddhist." This is how some Buddhist wheel Christians in, with this popular line, they call Buddhism a way of life, a Philosophy, not a Religion, so people will feal more comfortable, because they thing they don't have to give up there Childhood beliefs. Ofcourse, they soon do, between the confused Tuppies and the anti-Christian Buddhists, they seem to slowly drift into a state of psudo-Enlightenment, the sum if this being they have realised the Church is only out for money, or something like that, and htis knowledge makes them wiser then the average Christian, many of which who would, ironically, agree with them!
2278  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Husband addicted to Everquest computer Game on: July 26, 2003, 02:04:54 AM
yeah said just what I was trying to say. Smiley

The SCA is an Historical Reenactment group. The biggest in the world, in fact. They have all kinds of things, Equestrian sports, quilting, clothing making, survival training, cooking, music and dance, smithing, and all kinds of things done in Med-evil and Renascence times, as done in those days. But their main event is the sword fighting. They have Fencing battles, with foils, fought Renascence style, and they also have Dark age battles, use rattan and armor to fight mid-evil styles. They have mass battles, tournaments, all kinds of fun stuff. I was thinking he may enjoy things of this nature, and he will get out more, if he has something more REAL to be a part of. If he wants to hack and slash, better he be outside, addicted to something that can keep him healthy, then just sitting in front of the computer casting imaginary spells on binary monsters. The SCA, unlike other popluar groups, don't always for "spell casting" in their fighting, or other aspects of the group.

Everyone town has one, I think. You know, those logo's that your town puts on everything? Sometimes they are called sheilds. Ours is like a white J in a box, with with red and blue background.

Besides, you arn't going to get that idea to cetch on. I'm not the most popualr person on the board, lol. Grin thanks for the thought Smiley
2280  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Husband addicted to Everquest computer Game on: July 25, 2003, 05:36:56 PM
If magic is what is bothering you, then I would advise just looking into the SCA. It will get him off the Computer, and out of the magic you fear he is dabbling in. Any kind of frontward assault on the Game he loves so much will just make him defensive, and he will continue to say it is harmless fun, and that you are over reacting. You would do better to find a Christian alternative, or at least one that doesn’t conflict with your Christian Beliefs. If he just gvies it up because you keep bugging him about it, it will most likely be half-hearted, and he might fall back into it. Addictions are a strong thing. I know you are more upset by the spells, but it is the addiction it self that keeps him coming back for more.

Symphony - nice site, by what how does it help? I’m confused.
