Title: For Bronzesnake
Post by: nChrist on November 10, 2005, 06:30:23 PM
Brothers and Sisters,

Most of you know that Brother John (Bronzesnake) just got home from a very lengthy hospital stay.

I heard some news today from Brother John, and I wanted to share it with you. He posted on the forum that he lost a lot of weight in the hospital. The weight loss is because of problems eating, and Brother John is still having a lot of problems eating.

The original reason for John going to the hospital was a serious pancreatic problem that has been very difficult to bring under control. In fact, the doctor is still trying to bring it under control, and the condition results in a lot of pain. Brother John is currently in a lot of pain that the doctors have not been able to manage yet. So, John will be seeing a specialist in the next several days.

Brothers and Sisters, please keep Brother John in your prayers and ask God to give his doctors skill in helping John eat and ease his pain. This has been a long and hard struggle, so please pray for John's entire family.

Love in Christ,
Tom

Psalms 124:8 NASB  Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

Brothers and Sisters,

I know that God loves to hear our prayers, so prayer is one of the most precious gifts we can give to someone we love or care about.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Philippians 4:6-7 NASB  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Brothers, and sisters, it has been almost a month since brother John has come home.  Since the ninth, he hasn't posted so I am asking that you keep him in your prayers.  I know quite a few of us, do have each other in our prayers. But I am asking thast we pray a little harder for Brother John. (Bronzesnake)

Resting in the hands, of the Lord.

Hello my friends.

It brings a tear to my eye to see all the concern and love here that my brothers and sisters have shown me...Thank you all very much, it really tugs at my heart strings.

Here's an update for you...

I have been in very bad shape for over two weeks now, it was just as bad as it was while I was hospitalised.
I have been informed my our family doctor that there is a waiting list of over a full year before I can get in to see the specialist that I need to see. This specialist is certified to prescribe a strong pain medicine which I require to deal with the pain I am having.
It's pretty discouraging, but that's how our Canadian medical system is at the moment. Many well off people are pushing for a two tiered system. Our Conservative government opposition party is pushing hard for this privatization of our medicare also. The Conservatives up here in Canada are supposed to have the most the "Christians" of all our parties, but they cater to the well off exclusively. So if you can afford to pay, you can jump to the head of the waiting line.

Lots of us lower income level people smell the rat, but are powerless to do anything about it. Now, more than ever, the parties are completely ignoring poor folks.

My family doctor is a really great guy, and he is doing his best to keep me comfortable. I have had my analgesic patch dosage raised to a stronger dose, and he has given me all the pain pills I need.

God bless you all. I'm off to bed now, so if I'm not back for a while...Have a very merry Christmas.

John Bronzesnake

John!

Praise God you were feeling up to responding!  I hope our concern and prayers help you even more than lifting your spirit.  But I have a question that hopefully, you'll be well enough to see and answer.  Is your home church able to help you at all by meeting your financial need in this matter?  I know it's a tough governmental system you're having to deal with, but is there any way to put you "at the head of the line?"

I'm praying for you Brother, both for your health and for your spirit - that you'll not be discouraged in this trial God's allowing in your life.  I'm praying for strength, and that whatever lesson God is teaching you is one you learn well and love Him more for in the days to come.   :)

Your Brother in Christ,

Kevin

Brother John,

It is great to hear from you. We've missed you, and I can guarantee you that many are praying for you every day.

I'm very sorry to hear about your pain and not being able to see the pain specialist. I just read your post again, and I think that I understand now that your current doctor can't prescribe what you really need. This makes me very sad and confused about the health care system there. Brother, I'll go ahead and ask what others might be thinking after reading your post. Is there an approximate amount of money that would help you cut through all the red tape and see the specialist who can prescribe what you really need?

Brother John, I hope this question isn't too personal. If we have some idea about the amount involved, we can at least be more specific in our prayers, and we can help you in other ways that we are able. Please accept my apology if this post embarrasses you in any way. In the meantime, just know that many of us love you in Christ and are praying for you every day.

Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT!, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever!

KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

John Bronzesnake

Hi Bronze,

Here's a tissue.  Now dry them thar eyes and listen up, ya hear?

It's so good to hear from you.  You know you're missed.  Didn't have to tell you that, but am anyway.............!

You said there was a one years waiting list to see the specialist you need to see.  Someone with the kind of pain you're having can't wait for a year.  So, are you saying your Doc was able to control your pain himself with the stronger patch and pills?  I sure hope so.

We all pray for your recovery.  I lift you up to the Lord in my prayers.  I tell Him Bronzsnake though, not John, 'cause I know He knows who that Bronzesnake is. ;)  I feel so bad that you have to suffer so much.  It's just heart wrenching.  Father God, through Your son Jesus Christ, I lift up my brother Bronzesnake to You.  Have mercy on him, Lord God.  Bless him abundantly.  Send Your Holy Spirit to comfort him, and Your angels to minister to him and for him.  Bless his family, Lord.  Give them all wisdom, strength, and courage.  Send Bronze the help that You know he needs, right now Father.  Thank you for answered prayer.

Bronze, by His stripes you were healed.  He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.  You can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens you.  Keep His Word in your heart and speak it out loud.

Love, grace, and peace
cris

Hello my brothers and sisters.

Again - thank you all from the depths of my soul.

I am actually feeling pretty good today (relatively speaking)

My parents would gladly pay for me to either get to a private clinic in the U.S., or Canada. My problem with that is all the others who are in my position who have no one to borrow from in order to get quick help.

My conscience won't allow me to jump in front of them. I am dead against the practice, and the very idea of privitization of our health system.

God has truely blessed me to have such wonderful friends!!

Thank you...

John

Oh Brother John, you are such  a compassionate person, that you would rather deal with the pain, than to get the help you need before others. I'm sure God sees this wonderful quality in you and He will bless you for it. If your parents are willing to help you the the help you need in the US, it wouldn't be jumping in front of anyone else.
Brother, I am praying for you, that you will have favor, among God and men, that you will get the help you need right now, and that God will pour out blessings upon you and your family, that you will be healed. I believe in healing, Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and by His stripes we were healed, God wants us to have perfect peace, and that means completeness, wholeness. So right now I am speaking words of peace, perfect sound health, favor, and all God's blessing into your life, in Jesus' Name.
Remeber God is never late, He is always right on time.
We love you, if you are able please post and let us know how you are doing. I am always praying for you,
Your sister in Christ,
Maria.

Bronzesnake,

Brother John, we've all been praying for you and trying to figure out ways that we might be able to help. I'm extremely happy to hear that you are doing better.

I've thought a lot about various health care systems, and I'm really confused about what they do in Canada. I really don't think that you would be jumping to the front of the line if you came to a hospital in the U.S. I honestly believe that you could get an appointment with the top specialists in that field in 7 to 10 days and not bump anyone out of line. I also know that time would be reduced in an emergency situation.

Brother, I live in a city of between 130 and 140 thousand people, and we have two fairly large and excellent hospitals with just about every kind of equipment you can imagine. I can only speak for my part of the country and say that we don't wait long here for serious medical conditions, and the only folks we might bump out of line are those with the flu or other more minor conditions. So, there really isn't any guilt here associated with getting pretty quick medical treatment.

Brother, I'm just thinking out loud now and giving you some information. My regular family doctor can prescribe anything he wants to, and he has. I can get any pain medicine on the market in a matter of hours, or a matter of more time if a weekend is involved for a non-emergency. If need be, I can also see a pain specialist in a matter of days and not bump anyone out of line. I tried to read some about the system in Canada, and I must tell you that I'm very confused. I've read your post several times now, and I think that I understand how you feel about getting treatment before someone else does. BUT, there is no reason for the guilt factor here. I'm really thinking that you could get what you need here with an office appointment and not even have to go to the hospital. I think it would be a matter of making some copies of your medical records and making a few phone calls. At least think about this.

In the meantime - know that many folks are praying for you every day - and KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 Thessalonians 5:8-10 NASB  But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

Dude!  What are you smokin'?   :D ;D  Seriously John, I understand the differences in health care between our two nations, and the differences in thinking that accompany them.  We don't have to wait in many lines here, so the idea of waiting is completely foreign to us.  Like Tom, I think you should take the opportunity your family can provide you and get your treatment.  I know you don't want to trump those less fortunate than you, but do you think that they would want you to suffer when you can get help?  For the most part, I think that any caring individual wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.  Some may not like it, but most would probably push you to get the help you need when it's given.

Either way, you're still in my prayers everyday Brother.  God is still on His throne and still looking out for your good, and some day, we'll talk fishing on the streets of gold.   :)

Hi Bronzey!

I haven't known you long, so I had no idea that you live with chronic pain.  :'(  I'm so sorry to hear of your medical woes but so blessed to read of your character, strength and love for the Lord.  Although by now it sounds cliche, I must say that I have you in prayer..... Take care dear brother.

Blessings~
