Title: Evolution, Human remains & Biblical Dates
Post by: SeekerOfTruth on October 11, 2005, 02:41:52 PM
I am a young Christian.

1) How old does the Bible say the Earth is?
2) How long ago did Adam & Eve come about?

It seems that evidence has been found of humans dating beyond 10,000 to 12,000 year limit.   It has also been proven that the Earth is about 4.6 billion years old.

Can someone please help me understand clearly how the theory of evolution could possibly fit in with the Bible?

There is some hard evidence now to support Evolution and I believe this evidence can help support the Bible if it is indeed true that there were humans or lesser humans beyond 10,000 - 12,000 years of human existance.

God created the Earth in 7 days I believe.  People say that Adam & Eve came about 10,000 years ago?   How does this fit in with the 4.6 billion years scientists have come up with?

Please help out, I dont' want to look like a fool in front of people and need to make some sense out of all this.

It doesn't and it has not been proven with hard facts.

All the information that you need is the Bible. The following links will help explain more of it.

BTW ....  evolution is not a debateable subject on this forum. It is 100% false.

Pastor Roger. Question. :)

Obviously we know that Evolution is false. It is proven Biblically and I can very easily prove it scientifically. However, is it not important for the discussion of arguments the other side might use to take place? I think we as Christians should be prepared to stand against it should it come up. :)

Oh, and if you're looking for a purely scientific site, Seeker, let me direct you here.

Someone let me know if the link doesn't work or takes you to the wrong place. It should take you to the Discovery Institute website. :)

LittlePilgrim, There is a thread in the same area that has already been started for the discussion of Creation vs evolution but it is not for debate purposes nor for the support of evolution both of which is not permitted here on CU.

Brother John (Bronzesnake) explains much of it in this thread:

http://forums.christiansunite.com/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=6659

A discussion can be had in the following thread, again it is not for debate or for support of evolution.

Please read blackeyedpeas first post in the second thread. It might answer your question even more so.
