Title: Recording Church Services
Post by: Rich57 on May 30, 2005, 11:59:58 AM
If there's a more appropriate category for this enquiry, I wouyld be happy to re-locate it.
We currently record our church services to audio cassette via a 6-ch mixer. To develop this, I am considering alternative technologies. Due to space limitations, I am reluctant to record direct to a PC, but would consider other devices. Recordings would be burned to CD afterwards, probably at home. Parts of recordings could then be merged together and compilation CDs produced. On the Letters page of CA issue 189, an MP3 player is shown with "line-in for direct recording". How suitable would this be? Up to 90 minute recordings would be required.

Rich I don't know much about MP3 recording...I'm sure you can find some info on the web.

DAT (digital audio tape) recorder might be another option, but it is rather expensive.

Good luck in your quest!
