Title: Smelly Cat
Post by: chicklittle on April 26, 2005, 06:01:43 PM
I just adopted a cat from an animal shelter, and she smells kinda gross.  I don't want to give her a bath; is there anything else I can do for it??

And the answer is,....... Drum roll please..   The smell is from the shelter. Give the cat a few days, and it should be smelling better. If not, its "bath time." :-X

"Smelly Cat" - the 'cult' song, written and performed by Pheobe on the 'Friends' TV show.

Not that I watch that smut...  :-[

Try sprinkling with 'Carpet Fresh' then thoroughly vacuuming.  ;D

Actually, there is hope for you chicklittle!

Ever heard of wetwipes?   Well, petsmart has Petwipes  :D    Pretty much works the same.   And if the cat likes being rubbed, you shouldn't have any trouble wiping the cat down.

Good luck trying to give it a bath.   I've tried that before and let me tell you....

Washing Cats is Always hard unless they were washed as babies!

Here what I learn to wash cat below;

Do Not Wash Cat with Outside!

Do Not wash Cat with running water;  Use water that is already in the bath tub or kitchen. Dip the cat slowly in the warm water, Remember a cats body temperature is 103 degrees. So, you don't want to use cold water at all!

Use the same method in Reverse to wash all the soap off the cat, dip the cat in clean warm standing water. Ya don't want to use the same water ya washed the cat with. Dump the old dirty water Please!

Let the Cat that have to know you're for a week or two weeks so she can know you better. Get her so she can trust you also!

Try calling a Doctor Veterinarians and ask them what you can do also!!

I have a Turkish Angora cat whom is all white with light blue eyes. I gave him a bath too along time ago. Will will give him a bath again someday in the tub bath soon. I don't use runing water for my kitty! Snowy is my cat (kitty) and he is two years now. He is the most Loving cat I have from past!

Love n' Hugs, YSIC, \o/
