Is being "obese" a sin?

What worries me about your question is if someone says that being obese is sin, the all the skinny people will feel self-righteous.  The fact is the state of being obese is not sin.  Overeating may be sin, but some people gain wait when they're UNDER eating.  Some people are entirely under-nourished and have all sorts of vitimin deficiencies and they're still over weight.  A healthier style of eating does help some folks, but some folks are genetically predisposed to be heavier than others.

You know what, it's like saying women are more sinful because the fat collects around their thys more then the fat collects around the thys of men.  Which is obsurd because no woman sits around and mentally wishes for fat to collect around her thys.  And feeding the poor doesn't make the celulite go away either.

Is being a sinner sin?

Obese people probably don't want to be obese as much as sinners don't want to be sinners.

There's somethings we can't do anything about, and there's somethings we can make great strides to change, but that doesn't change us from our predispotion.

Gluttony is a sin.
To be obese is not a sin. It can be a result of sin the same way cancer and other illnesses can be a result of sin.
To not do anything about obesity could possibly be considered a sin by some.
