Title: Elena-Chernobyl
Post by: Symphony on April 04, 2004, 03:55:54 PM
Whew!   I just visited this site linked on Kim Komando's e-newsletter that came yesterday.

This young woman on a suped up cycle, all by herself, touring and chronicling, in photo format, amidst dangerous fallout, the aftermath and update of the Chenobyl nuclear disaster.  Her dad a nuclear scientist and she grew up not far from there.

What a mind blower this is--what she is doing.

Unrelated at all to this, I've followed for several years the teachings of Irvin Baxter(at endtime.com), that the "Wormwood" of Revelation, one of the seven trumpet blasts, is translated "Chernobyl".  The similarities and coincidences are interesting, to say the least.

Elena's chronicle--what a testimony.  She cites the Revelation passages; I'm not sure she herself is a believer.

The photographs and story are sobering.  What a terrible event.  What a wasteland, and all overnight.

What a wonderful gesture, that this is being chronicled, like this, and by a lone woman, on motorcycle.

Yeah!  She gave more of a biker intro... but now we don't get to see the bike!  All well, I still think it's a neat site! ;D  I have heard of chernobyl and had a rough idea of what took place there, although, I never had the experience that Elena's web-site gave.  I thought about sending her an e-mail to thank her for the site, yet she give a mailing address instead.  Well, I don't feel like taking out a loan to pay for postage in order to send a thank you note to Russia... al well.... LOL :D

This is incredible, people lived, had homes, country houses, garages, motorcyles, cars, money, friends and relatives, people had their life, each in own niche and then in a matter of hours this world fall in pieces and everything goes to dogs and after few hours trip with some army vehicle one stands under some shower, washing away radiation and then step in a new life, naked with no home, no friends, no money, no past and with very doubtful future.

In some ways their loss is comparable to that of Job.  They lost wealth, family, and even their health!   Even if we are “penny poor” we can still look around and count our blessings… we need not look any further than the clothing we are wearing!!!!  On many occasions God will show me someone who is worse off than I am.  I recently saw a man holding a sign “HOMELESS, PLEASE HELP”.  I have a place to stay, and food to eat…how blessed I am!!! :) ;D

Yes, that's what got me about all this:

This is incredible, people lived, had homes, country houses, garages, motorcyles, cars, money, friends and relatives, people had their life, each in own niche and then in a matter of hours this world fall in pieces and everything goes to dogs and after few hours trip with some army vehicle one stands under some shower, washing away radiation and then step in a new life, naked with no home, no friends, no money, no past and with very doubtful future.

And Elena's earlier reference to typical "Soviet justice", jailing that guy who fought the meltdown and died three weeks later; or not telling the fire fighters or pilots what they were encountering...

I think her mention of Revelation, and the "Wormwood" tie-in is very interesting.  She seems dismissive of it, though.

Yes, Tony, too bad no email address.  'Wonder why.  'Seems that'd be easier than a mailing address.

In doing alot of research on this. I have concluded; that the story was part truth, part hoax. She did visit Chernobyl and the pictures are real, but the part about her riding through Chernobyl alone on a motorcycle is fictitious. She would have had to go as part of a tour group.
