Operation Lost Souls BY GREGORY HOYT MAY 31, 2022 EL PASO, TX – A Homeland Security Investigations-led operation supported by various other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies was able to locate and rescue 70 missing children between late April and mid-May in an effort dubbed “Operation Lost Souls.” According to a press release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) led a team consisting of “the Texas Department of Public Safety and numerous other federal, state and local agencies” to help track down and rescue 70 missing children – some of whom were the victims of sex trafficking – via a three-week operation originating out of West Texas. “Operation Lost Souls” reportedly operated out of El Paso, Midland, and Ector, and Tom Green counties through the end of April up until the middle of May, with the recovered children ranging between the ages of 10 and 17-years-old.
