Title: 1Jn 5:20. If one is among you, dont' seat in the rear?
Post by: WillGreek on February 27, 2004, 11:42:44 AM
1492- to see with the mind's eye, signifies a clear and purely mental perception –
oida [1492]
1097- a knowledge grounded on personal experience – ginOskO [1097]

1Jn 5:20 [1492] v_1st.Person.Plural.Perfect Tense. Indicative.Active.

Yet [we have seen by our mental perception][1492] that the Son of God is come, and has given us comprehension, that [we are personally experiencing][1097] the True One, and we are in the True One, in His Son, Christ Jesus. This One is the true God and life eternal.

1Jn 5:20 [1097] v_1st.Person.Plural.Present Tense. Indicative.Active.

The apostle John could write "We" because he and the ones he was writing to "is" experiencing the true God.

You and I today must experience the true God to be able to say, "We."

The bible study is: "Does your mental perception and experience make you comprehend that the "son of God"
"is come?"

The Passion of the Christ by Gibson and the reviews lead me to think you have not.

"( 1 Jn 5:20. If one is among you, dont' seat in the rear? )"

How does this tie in to 1 John 5:20?

Title: I say it's OK to pick your seat.

WG

Just don't sit on it.............As my friends wife, would say.

The Passion was OK,  problem is, that unless one knows why Jesus came and was murdered, the film doesn't mean anything...to the unlearned;  Mell just simply left out the best part.............................the resurrection three days later.

He really missed the boat, cause he is sitting in the wrong seat..at  the wrong alter..

Petro

PS  I modified this post cause I saw what Ollie, was Hmmm, munnnn............about.

Petro-

Did you leave the movie right after the Cross at the point of darkness they had there?  Because the last scene in the movies was Christ rising and stepping forward (presumably the entrance of the tomb).

Ohhh........

Was that the resurrection, I thought it was a plug for the shroud of turin..............

John 20
6  Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
7  And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

The linen clothes, and the naptkin, that was about the head??

Notice the scriptures says it was two separate pieces of cloth. one for the body the other for the head..

Don't get me wrong, I thought the movie was OK, but it was'n't depicting scripture..

Just another ten minutes and a little more of the Resurrection would have ended it, with a bang............

Imagine, hearing, what the disciples heard from heaven on that day;

Acts 1
9  And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The world needs to know that Jesus,

is coming;  "in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

No secret returnings for raptures in the middle of the night.

God Bless,

Petro

How does one reach the mental perception and the experience to comprehend the "Son of God is come"?

How does it relate to your subject question?

"If one is among you, dont' seat in the rear?"

You have not answered my question in my first reply to this thread.
