Title: If I Pray...
Post by: MATTHEW24:14 on June 14, 2013, 11:59:40 PM

If I pray to a god then according to Paul in 2Corinthians 4:4 & Revelation 12:9 &
1 Corinthians 8:5  For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords")
John 10:34  Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are "gods"'?
I may be praying to Satan because Satan is called the “god of this world.”
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
&  2 Corinthians 11:15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as ministers and servants of righteousness.     (Their end will be what their actions deserve.)
Myriads of other god deities have been worshiped by man throughout history. YHWH (Jehovah) is the Hebrew Name for the Creator of everything.  The name YHWH (Jehovah) means 'The One who is self-existent; the same and equally present in all phases of time, past, present, and future.'
YHWH commanded over and over again that we know and call on His real Name.
1 Kings 8:43 Hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to you for: that all people of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by your name.  Psalm 145:18  YHWH is near to all them that call on him, to all that call on him in truth.  (Luke 11:2 KJV) And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name (YaHWeH). Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.  According to Scripture and Yahushua’s (Jesus Christ) own words we sin when we do not use His name when context calls for it.   Exodus 33:19  The LORD replied, "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will call out my name, Yahweh, before you. For I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.
& John `1:13   And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

We are CURSED when we do not use YaHWeH name!
NOTE :     TRADITION-FREE VERSION:
(Mal 2:1-2 TFV & Deuteronomy 28:15)  And now, O ye priests , this commandment is for you.{2} If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith YHWH of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
(Exo 9:16 KJV) And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
Matthew 24:14            Malachi 1:6   "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says Yahweh of Armies to you, priests, who despise my name. You say, 'How have we despised your name?'   Malachi 2:1 "Now, you priests, this commandment is for you
Malachi 2:2   If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name," says Yahweh of Armies, "then will I send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.
The true God has given himself a name and it is found in the bible at Psalms 83:18 and Isaiah 42:8. His name is Jehovah or ( YAHWEH ) and it is crucial to use His name in order for our prayers to be heard and to please God. We must also pray in the name of His son Jesus Christ in order to be heard by God for no one comes to the father except through Jesus.
Galatians 6:7  Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you'll harvest.

We don't have to learn or speak in Greek or Hebrew to please God. Here's a sample prayer that Jesus Christ gave to his disciples:

Matthew 6:9-13 KJV  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  11  Give us this day our daily bread.  12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I am reminded of Acts 2 where each person there heard of the wonderful works of God in their own language. There is also a song that is based on 2Timothy 1:12 that comes to mind: "I Know Whom I Have Believed."
