Title: Hello brothers and sisters
Post by: grandma dolittle on August 01, 2012, 05:13:13 PM
I am  a 66 year old grandmother and a retired special education teacher. I live in the country and love every minute that God gives me. I was raised in a small country Free Will Baptist church and I still go there.   I am looking forward to conversing with Christians about my Lord. I do hate arguments and put downs. The last post I was at had a lot of that and I become discouraged real fast and left.  To me that is no way to show God's love.        grandma

Hello and Welcome. We're happy to have you with us. Many of us are retired here, including myself, and my wife is a retired school teacher. I'm a retired police officer.

I am looking forward to being with you, but it will have to be a few days.  I had surgery on my right soulder for rotator cuff tear yesterday. These pain pill knock me for a loop, I don't see why someone would take them for pleasure!    grandama

Prayers are with you. I fully understand and agree with you on the effects of pain meds. I can't stand taking them myself.

I am going to survive! My pain is gone and I do not take any meds now. Praise God!  I hated the meds and I cannot see how anyone would enjoy them at all.  A neighbor kid,  that was at my house with my son  while groing up, came by and was so high on something he could hardly carry on a conversation.  I know it is the grip of Satan in his life, but we have the free will to tell Satan no.

That's great news about your pain.

Unfortunately too many people want to take the easier road rather than to say no.

I'm very happy to hear that you are doing so much better and that your pain has stopped. I will continue to pray that you heal and recover quickly.

My pt tells me I am doing great and my theraphy doesn't hurt as much as it could.  Most of my pain is from fibromylgia and an ice pack feels wonderful! ;D

I'm happy to hear that your pt is working and your pain is under control. I'm just getting over surgery on both hands for carpal tunnel. That not nearly as serious as your surgery, but I'm learning quickly about the importance of pt and doing what they tell me to do. I'm doing pretty good and look forward to being fully mended. I just got the stitches out of one hand.

In the meantime, I will be praying that you have a full and speedy recovery.

any surgery is serious and I am sorry that you had to have it done too. I will pray for your speedy recovery.

Thank you sincerely. My primary goal right now is to have good use of both hands by my son's wedding on 9-1-2012. I'll be there regardless.

Congrats on your sonm's wedding.  With God's help and doing as the pt instructs... you will be fine.   Not too far off is it?

We'll be getting on a plane Thursday. We're really looking forward to it. He's our youngest of two and the only one single. He got a great job after getting out of the Navy, and we're happy that he's ready to settle down.
