Title: Do you have eyes?
Post by: Wren on May 08, 2003, 10:13:04 PM
Thomas Edison once said "We don't know 1/10th of 1% about anything." Pure truth brother!
 If you have eyes in your head, (a blessing of the Lord in themselves!) and you see the war, the earthquakes, SARS, tornados, base insanity abounds in a significant portion of the worlds population ad infinum. Who is so arrogant, so self-rightous, so foolish, so dense, indeed so utterly blind, as to not see the coming of our Good Lord and Most Holy Savior? To stand defiant and say "I will conduct my life on this earht as I well please!" You are most certainly correct about that. It is in the next that you will have difficulty.
 Be thankful. Be kind. Be humble. Be ready!

In responce to Wren's comments,

What Thomas Edison said is irrevelent on this topic. What the Word of God says is.

Without knowledge of God's Word, guess 1/10 of 1% knowledge would be about right.

Yours,

Michael

STILL---not one verse of scripture for a pre-trib rapture. The challenge still stands.

  There is Wisdom in the World outside of the Bible.  The philosophies of Men are not irrelevent and  If your reasoning results in kindness, as it obviously does, then I'm all for it.

 We will be Raptured before the Tribulation as our reward for being faithful to Jesus.

    1Th 5:9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

    1Th 5:10   Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

    1Th 5:11   Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do

 Only the unrighteous will be left to God's Wrath.

    Rom 2:5   But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

    Rom 2:6   Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

    Rom 2:7   To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

    Rom 2:8   But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

    Rom 2:9   Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

    Col 3:4  When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

    Col 3:5   Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

    Col 3:6  For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

    1Th 1:10   And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Now don't go chafing on me over TE! The quote is a measure, a guidestick of mankinds ignorance of the world around us, thats all. Including spiritual matters. And if it causes one person to ponder matters of the spirit more closely, it is not irrevalent.
