No, not really.

But if you do find anyone, you have to incorporate Fitty Cent and "jigga-what" into your songs.

For your run off the mill rap, with a good flow and an Uplifting Message, try Naz or T-Bone.

For something more old school, End Time Warriors (AKA E.T.W.) is a good group.

For a more unique sound, Ill Harmonics is a very interesting Group. They are a Christian group, but they have a sound unique in both Christian and Secular circles.

And none of them make up words ;) like Shanizzal.

Mark of the beast? I don’t want to know... is 50 the anti-christ, now? Or maybe Dr. Dre, eh?

Oh, for the love of...

LAUGH, people. Please, don't take everything so seriously. And I gotta agree with Tibby here...I really don't want to know what you think Fitty has to do with the Mark of the Beast.

I would like to know what conection there is between 50 and the antichrist. But all that aside If you want a good christian rap T-Bone, KRS One, The Cross Movement and Gospel Gangstaz are the best.

try Naz or T-Bone.

Nas? Christian rap? Hmmmmm...... ::)

I can't post any lyrics; it would take entirely too long to clean them up! But the link is for the lyrics to the songs off the 'God's Son' CD.... the one with "I Can" on it.  ::)

Yes, Nas, Christian. He is just a legit as DC Talk or SCC or POD. Welcome to my world. Christian music is a joke, and this is an example of why. Nas is on the same label as Michael Bolton and Petra (sony).

 Nas God’s Son

A tribute to the artist’s departed mom, "Dance" esteems the Lord while slamming evolution. "I Can" affirms kids, telling them to "read more, learn more," avoid drugs and choose friends carefully. Elsewhere, isolated lines decry a loss of values and responsibility, both on an individual and a cultural level.

Sadly, any pro-social preaching is crippled by the rapper’s amazing moral confusion. He boasts about having a constant flow of sexual partners ("The Cross," "P-ssy Killz") and a marathon session of oral sex ("Hey Nas"). Illegal drugs are considered good for the community on "Get Down"("The drugs kept the ’hood from starving"). At least five tracks take an enchanted view of alcohol and marijuana. Seven feature violent threats or descriptions of gang warfare (including the murder of a doctor and a policeman), at times with the rapper admitting to being jacked up on pot or booze. As might be inferred from the disc’s title, Nas has a messiah complex—a seed planted by his mother ("Revolutionary Warfare"). He views Jesus as "just nice" and hardly necessary. "Heaven" states, "I bet you there’s a heaven for an atheist."

A lyric on "Every Ghetto" states, "My songs come from the Father." The father of what? Nas thinks his tunes are heaven-sent, but John 8:44 reveals the true father of gangsta violence, pot smoking, foul language, illicit sex and warped spirituality. The Label has EVERYTHING to do with it. The Label dictates who gets the money, who you assocate with, where you tour, etc, etc. The Music label is everything.

IOW, how does the label prove or disprove your statement that Nas is a Christian?  ???

I'm trying to figure out why you called Nas a Christian artist?

Because he said he is, like Petra and AA and Newsboys and Piller. And his lyrics are no more or less glorifying to God then some of Petra's and AA's and Newsboys' and Piller's lyrics. I cannot look at the heart, and I don't know what his life is like, so I have to take his word on it.

Because he said he is

There ya go! See? I didn't know if it was just something you guessed! But if you actually heard him say it.... You DID hear HIM say it, didn't you? ::) Cause I just haven't been able to find ANYTHING having to do with Nas and being Christian. :-X

And his lyrics are no more or less glorifying to God then some of Petra's and AA's and Newsboys' and Piller's lyrics.

Completely untrue! Excepting Petra who I'm not as familiar with... Did you even read the quotes I posted? I didn't think so.... ::)

I cannot look at the heart, and I don't know what his life is like, so I have to take his word on it.

ROFL! I never thought you could! But again, you did hear Nas say it, right? So being young, you must have a good enough memory to recall where and when YOU heard him say it, right?  ;)

I did, no difference from what I can tell. He called on God, they call on GOd. He sings "in the name of God" for selfish reasons, they sing songs "in the name of God" for selfish reasons

The difference being Christ..... Christians... ::)

You can't see into Nas' heart, yet you can know that their reasons are 'selfish'?  ::)

Yes, it can. I remember.  ::) But you said you have heard Nas say that he's a Christian. Yet you can't remember where or when?  ::) Are you sure you didn't just assume that because of a CD title or a song?  ::)

Out of the groups you listed; I have NEVER heard the langauge in their lyrics that Nas uses. Nor have I ever heard them sing of BEING the Messiah..... And yet, you see no difference?  ::)

Ok, first of all, I must put in for John Reuben, he is newer, yes, but a great Christian, that loves to create Christian Rap, have any of you ever seen him in concert? wow, he has such an awesoem stage presence that just lets you know that he is not doing it for money, or for gratification, but is doing it for God, and that is what it is all about. Another Great Christian Rapper is KJ-52, he also is a strong Christian, his last cd, "It's pronounced five-two" had a great song about a girl that wanted to commit suicide, and KJ walks her through it, and tells how God loves her so much and all that good stuff...he also has a very good song called I'm Guilty, in which he tells the whole story of being persecuted, but in a modern light...

TRUE CHRISTIAN RAP LIFTS OF JESUS AND IT ROCKS.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN YOU ARE SAYING YOU DON'T LIKE THE WORD OF GOD BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT REAL CHRISTIANS RAPPERS ARE SPITTING. FIND OUT.
EXAMPLE:
Free

Performed by The Ambassador

Written by William Branch

Produced by Lee Jerkins for Rock Soul Productions

Recorded by Vince Delorenzo

Mixed by Jim Bottari

Published by Cross Movement Music & Publishing (SESAC) &

Soul Rock Music (BMI)

Hook:

"I wanna know if you wanna know which way to go,

it's a narrow road, and if you carry loads, you can be set free

I don't care about the car you drive...  are you alive?

This is do or die, so you and I need to be totally free

Verse One:

Who you wanna be like, a man or woman with vision to see right?

Do you have any passion to be right, or be light?

Shinin' like you're a diamond or would it be tight

to roll with a cat, who holds a gat and lets the weed light?

Quick to brawl and get involved in a street fight

Quick to ball, forget it yall, he's enthralled with street life

He's gotcha thinking that he's hype but these type

never sleep tight they stay awake countin' the sheep, right?

He's got the sweet life?  Please!  "Sike!"

He's phony, he's really lonely that's why he clubs every week night

He can't handle the storm, he's like a cheap kite

He need's Christ, he's the opposite of Levite:

Unholy and a contradiction like "FREE PRICE,"

blind as a bat or better yet blind as three mice

Either way you look at it the crooks get it,

don't look at me like I'm pathetic, the Book said it!

Repeat Hook

Verse Two:

Do you wanna be the kind of sis' that does work with a kiss

workin' her hips, and gotta use a skirt and a twist

I'm certain of this, love's what you're searchin' for, Miss

but earth's an Abyss so that love you're certain to miss

‘cause most guys from birth, grow to be guys that flirt

putting sweet lies to work so as to disguise the purp(ose)

which is to shoot the gift, just to get you to shift

your views cause if he can make you switch

He's got the tools to get in the "skins,"

you know that that's been the trend

Why would he get a wife when he can just get a "friend,"

and with a little gin after a spin in the Benz

with some R&B he can "hit" again and again

I know it's sort of bugged but now I'm sailing on the waters of

experience, I know a wife and a daughter's love

So I'm up on things that pertain to "dime pieces"

My mind reaches to share things that remain after my rhyme ceases

Let him keep the cheese, never let him eat for free

Let him meet your needs and never let him sleep and leave

God's plan is that you marry so the creep must cleave

and learn about a woman's worth like Alicia Keys

Dudes and dudettes should both do that

So I'm exposing this like film when light gets to it

You need to learn about the way the righteous do it

You gotta see what life looks like when Christ gets to it

Repeat Hook

Bridge:

I wanna know if you wanna know (which way go?)

People, it's a narrow road (it's His way or no!)

There's too much weight on ya (dude, can't ya see?)

You need truth dropped straight on ya (so you can be free!)

Verse Three:

This is a call to introspection

Some interjection into men's perspect

since God calls them into question,

all their mindsets and their behavioral patterns

"I gave you a pattern,” He says, “but I'm afraid you're an Adam.”

So you're made in a manner that we called depraved and this grammar

It’s just a big word to describe that you're enslaved and you cannot

find the power to even do the good you desire

That's even bugged that's like trying to match the good with Empire

[‘Cause] we're the dark-side

Life is rougher and tougher than shark's hide

We walk by dissin' the same God who on the cross died

For once we need a people with vision that’s Cross-eyed

So we can focus on where hope is with our jaws wide open

Man, I be hoping all people will all cry out

to the Savior cause the Judge ain't lettin' y’all slide

'Cause He's the Love Boat now but I panic

'Cause y’all don't understand that He'll be the Titanic

And take under, some men with [a] great thunder

He's the great wonder, shunnin’ Him’s the great blunder

See it's costly, while y’all see the floss,

we see what God sees, that it's awfully fake like false teeth

Whether legit or the fast route, when you cash out

you'll see that "Ice" is like Frosty in the glass house

And beauty is vain, won't truly remain,

you act like you'll be the same, imagine you with a cane

or you with a chain rusted, or you with the pains of time

doing the same of what it's done to every human who came before

Now how would that be?  My point exactly, nuff said, come on and be set free"
HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THIS?

And for the record I hate all rap, but I love Gospel Rap.
There is a difference yet you would have to open your eyes to notice. Alot of Christians are walking around with their eyes shut and not witnessing to the people GOD put in their paths to witness to.

READ MORE, POST LESS.
Who ever said this was the only way? Have you read anything I've posted or are you just responding to the question?
The difference from Rap and Gospel rap is that one talks about the world and the other( Gospel Rap) talks and teaches about the GOSPEL.
Now if you don't like the teachings of the Gospel then thats between you and GOD.

The difference from Rap and Gospel rap is that one talks about the world and the other( Gospel Rap) talks and teaches about the GOSPEL.

And I quote: "And for the record I hate all rap, but I love Gospel Rap."

In this case, I took the word "all" to mean every type of rap. Gospel rap, as far as I am concerned, is still "rap," especially because "rap" is in the genre name. Therefore, if you say you hate all rap, that means you would also hate "gospel rap."

Now if you don't like the teachings of the Gospel then thats between you and GOD.

Please, I urge you, go back to all my posts on this thread (heck, for all I care, you could root through every post I've ever made on this entire site) and show me where I ever said I didn't like the teachings of God. But, on this note, I would like to ask you to stop saying that "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT [gospel rap] THEN YOU ARE SAYING YOU DON'T LIKE THE WORD OF GOD." I like Ford motor company, but I don't like minivans. I love school but I hated my music keyboarding class. I like iPods but I hate Apple. I like the Chicago Blackhawks but I think their owner's a complete moron.

Liking gospel rap and liking the Word of God are in no way complimentary to each other.
