Title: My sister's getting a divorce
Post by: bloodofthelamb on May 12, 2009, 09:56:20 PM
A couple of hours ago, my sister called and told me she was getting a divorce with her husband of almost three years. They have an almost one-year-old baby boy named David. This is a big shock for me. How can I call on Jesus to comfort me and my sister? I have another sister who's getting married soon, and I'm scared that they'll end up the same way.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there seems to be much of this sort of thing going on. Praise God though that we can always count on God to be there for us especially through such difficult times as this.

I am sorry to hear that for you and your sister.  And I shall be praying for everyone involved.  And the only advice that I can provide on how you can call upon God..is to pray.  And pray not demanding but in submission, remember that it is always His will and not ours.   I would recommend also talking to your pastor, along with your sister.

What I'm even more afraid of is this: my sister's soon-to-be-ex-husband is a Christian, and she wasn't before meeting him. I'm scared that she will fall from Christ after the divorce is final.

If only the preachers stop false preaching, and preach the word of God without intrepiting Gods words to satisfy
satan ways .
Read this :  Quote:

1Corinthians 7:8-11 also Hebrew 13:4
It is written and it must be known.
To those married  and to widows :
It would be well if they remain as they are, but if they
cannot exercise self-control, they should  marry.
Hebrews 13:4 Romans 7:2
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
It is better to marry  than to be on fire.
To those now married, however a wife must not
separate from her husband.
If she does separate, she must either remain single.
Or become reconciled to him again.
Similarly, husband must not divorce  his wife.
Matthew 5:32
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
Matthew 19:6   Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
Deuteronomy 23:21 If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.
Galatians 1:8  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
Matthew 5:19  Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Isaiah 55:11  so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
1 Thessalonians 4:8  Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.   1Cor 3:16-17
