Title: sex before marriage?

i would like to know where it says sex before marriage is a sin?

because i have been told it is sex without the intent to make a child is sinning ..

so i would like this clarified....is it a sin to have sex before you are married

Hello Mike,

The Bible speaks of adultery and fornication in a number of places in the New Testament. The Greek words that were used for these meant having relationships outside of marriage. Here are just a few:

Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

2Pe 2:14  Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
2Pe 2:15  Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

Heb 13:4  Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

1Th 4:3  For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
