Title: Dave H's testamony
Post by: workinprogress on September 12, 2008, 03:13:58 PM
In answering Grammyluv's last Bible Trivia question:
What leper carried a letter from the king of Syria to the king of Israel?

(2 Chronicles, 2 Kings, 2 Corinthians)

GOD reminded me of just how Awesome He is!
Through my mother; I was brought to know our Lord and Saviour many years ago, but sadly fell into a long backsliding after I graduated and left home for other things. I may have left GOD, but He never left, nor deserted me.

I recall just how GOD came back into my life about 8 years ago, and used me to bring my son and grandchildren to worship and honor Him.  Just as I finished answering Grammyluv's trivia and mentioned at the end about:
Quote
If our children are to learn about GOD, we must teach and show them the way.
How long does it take for someone not to know GOD?, one generation is all.
Oh, how close it came to me being the one who could have been used by satan to keep my son and grandchildren from ever knowing GOD.

Thanks be to GOD, I glorify ,love, honor and give my all to You, for You have done so much more than I deserve.

In Christian love
Dave H.

Amen and Amen! If only many others would learn the importance of bringing their children up in the ways of the Lord. It is not only a responsibility given to parents by God but it is a true way of our showing our love for those children.

That statement really got me thinking too, about how true that is.  I didn't do so hot with my own children, although one of them is saved anyway.  But I'm sure not letting up with my grandkids.  We talk about Jesus all the time!  It's our favorite topic and my grandson is full of questions.  He's only 4 but he always says, "Jesus lives in our hearts, right Grammy?"  So cute.  He asks that every single time he's here!  And his 6 yr old sister likes to pray with me.
I'm hoping that we can just be a witness to the others by how we live and how happy we are.  And like Jesus said, a prophet isn't welcome in his own home town and all, so I just pray that God will put someone else in their lives that they are more likely to listen to!
Bless you Brother Dave and thanks for sharing!
In Christ,
Yvette
