Title: My Son
Post by: sctami on July 05, 2008, 11:15:31 PM
The devil has my 15 year old son believing that he is homosexual. I have been praying for God to help him, but the devil has such a stronghold on him, that it seems my prayers are going no further than the ceiling. I have told God that this is his battle, as I can not do this on my own. Please help me pray that God will be there with my son no matter where he goes. Pray that when he is on the internet, God will be there making him feel uncomfortable; when he is with friends who are bad influences, God will be there making him feel uncomfortable; when he is doing anything that is not pleasing to God, please help me pray that God will be right there beside him, making him uncomfortable until he has to ask God to help him. He needs God in his life. He will tell you that homosexuality is wrong, and he knows that. but he has a friend who has convinced him that he will be better off with a guy. Please help me pray for God to take complete control o!f this situation and that I have enough strength to turn it over to him completely.

The director of the youth camp called last night and said that he had an available bed for my son.  My son is still agreeing to go to church camp the week of July 21st.  Please pray for him that week that God will pour his spirit out on him like never before and bless him and help him to realize the man that God wants him to be.  Please, please continue to pray for him.

My son is home from camp, and he said he enjoyed it.  He would not ask the girl to the banquet, he said he would rather be friends.  He still lacks self confidence in himself as a man.  Please continue to pray for him.  He is better, but still a little confused.  Pray that God will continue to work in him to bring him completely into the person he is to be.  My heart aches a little, but I know God is working, and it is not something that happens overnight.  Please pray for us.

Thank you so much for such awesome encouraging words.  My son is trying really hard.  The devil is tempting him, and he said that he knows the devil is, and he is trying to resist.   Pray that he will be able to stand strong.  He wants to help his friend who is in the same situation he was.  Please pray that he will be able to help him without letting his friend bring him down. I am so proud of the progress he is making, and I pray that he will continue to grow strong and stay on the path which God has put him on.  I pray that christian friends will enter his life to lift his spirits and help bring him closer and stronger relationship with God.

Please pray for my son.  It seems he has lost several of his friends, more than the one.  It is discouraging him, and I don't want him to feel that he has to go back into his old life to get friends.  Please pray that he will stay strong and that he will constantly feel God with him, guiding him.  He is an awesome young man.  Please continue praying for him that he will stay on the right path and follow God's leading in his life.  Pray for him to stay happy and carefree.  Please!!!!

My son wants to go to counseling for things he says have happened in his past that he needs to talk to someone about.  Please pray that I am able to find the right counselor to help him.  I want one who will guide him, not only in his personal life, but in his spiritual life also.  I have one that I am thinking about calling.  Please pray that God will let me know if she is the right one.  I want to help my son, not hurt him.

My son is going to counseling on Monday, August 11th.  Please pray that God's will will be done.  He is still trying really hard to live a christian life.  Please continue to pray for him as he goes through these next few weeks that God will hold him in the palm of his hand and things will be according to God's plan.

Hello Sctami,

WELCOME!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite.

Your son will be in my prayers. Counseling on this issue is available in most locations. It is an unacceptable and life-threatening behavior, so it should not be permitted by parents. If one forgot completely about the Biblical and moral issues, the life-threatening evidence is unquestioned. If one adds the Biblical, moral, and other issues, you have the reasons why this behavior has been TABOO throughout history. It's TABOO by GOD and by man.

Love In Christ,
Tom

I agree totally. It is indeed a dangerous thing. Such a lifestyle is just a ticking bomb waiting to go off. Please do get some good Christian councilling for both you and your son in this matter.

My prayers will be with your family.

Hello Sctami,

I've been down sick with an ear and sinus infection for the last several days. I just wanted to let you know that your family is still in our prayers. I was hoping and praying that you might have located some community resources that could help you close to home. I forgot to ask you about your church and suggest maybe a visit with your pastor or Christian counseling. This is just another idea.

Tom

Dear Tom:

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  Yes, I have communicated with my pastor, as he is my brother.  He is keeping my son in his prayers.  My son is to go to church camp the week of July 21st.  Please keep him in your prayers as this will be a really good thing for him.  He seems to be a little happier the last few days, but still confused.  Please continue to pray for him.  I am hoping he will make new friends this year.  I believe it is more of a self esteem issue with him, that he feels bad about himself and thinks that the girls will not like him.  He is not one for sports, he is more of a intellect person.  I really believe that if he goes to camp he will be better.  The counselor he will be with is an excellent christian and loves young people.  He has stated that he will work with Mitchell.  Please pray for him.

Thanks again!
Tami

Hey Everyone!!!  My son is at camp!  My niece went with him.  She is a counselor.  She called me last night and said that Mitch seems to be having a good time, which made me happy.  But I think what made my day a little better was when she said that he was talking to A GIRL!!  The prayers which we are praying are working!!!  Please keep praying for him that God will continue to belss him this week.  It is just the first day of camp, and he has the rest of the week to go.  If God can do so much in just a couple of hours, imagine what he can do in a week (besides creating heaven, earh, animals, humans, oceans, skies, etc.)  Please continue to pray!!  I will keep you updated when I hear from my niece.  Again, thanks to all of you!  You are awesome christians who believe in a power that is much higher and greater and it means a lot!

I give God all the praise and glory for everything he has done for my son.  His friend's mother has decided it is best for now for my son and his friend not to talk.  My son understands this and said that it is good with him because he does not want his friend to bring him back down into a lifestyle that is not pleasing to God.  I AM SO PROUD OF HIM!!!  Thank you all so much for your continued prayers.

Thanks to everyone who is praying for my son.  He seems to have had a kind of down day today.  He was not his happy-go-lucky self he has been for the last couple of weeks.  Please pray for him that he will stay strong in God and let God use him and be the man that God wants him to be.  He does have difficult days, especially with friends who do not understand why he would want to be a christian.  Please continue to pray for him that he will stand strong in his faith and not back down to fit back in with the group of friends.  Thank you all so much for your prayers - please keep them coming, as they seem to be working!

Well, my son had his first therapy session, and I am not sure how good it went.  He liked the therapist.  He has it in his head that you can be christian and be gay, and that he was born that way.  Please, please, please pray that the therapist can help him understand that he was not born that way.  My heart is sad, but I am not giving up.  He made the comment to one of his friends that "come January, I will be back to Mitchell".  I'm not sure what that means, but please pray for him and me (I need it).

Please, please pray that God will move in a mighty way between now and Friday.  I know that God will not put more on me then I can handle, but I am mighty close.  I do not know what to do anymore except turn it fully and completely over to God and say "here Lord, it's yours!  I can't fight anymore, I'm tire and weary.  Please take care of this battle for me."  Please keep us in your prayers.   :'(

Hello Sctami,

HANG TOUGH! Tough love might be called for in this situation. Much is at stake, and prayer will always be at the top of the list. Your family will remain in our prayers. Part of the answer might be a BLUNT AND SIMPLE "NO!" - AND MEAN IT!

From a Godly parent's perspective, silence isn't an option because silence is many times perceived as authorization, acceptance, or calling evil good. We must call it what it is - EVIL!

Isaiah 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Romans 1:16-32  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written. The just shall live by faith.  18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  19  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.  20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  23  And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.  24  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:  25  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.  26  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  27  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.  28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;  29  Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,  30  Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  31  Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:  32  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Sister, I firmly believe there are times when the only right thing we can do for our children is to tell the BLUNT TRUTH, SAY NO, AND BE UNYIELDING! In this case, there are many other things to do, say, and try. However, the bottom line must be NO!:

1 - There isn't a single "yes" argument.

2 - This isn't a matter of personal preference.

3 - A person IS NOT BORN THIS WAY!

4 - The choices involve great suffering, dreaded diseases, and death in this short life - AND eternal condemnation to suffering in the life to come. This is definitely a LIFE and DEATH issue, one where the WRONG decision has HORRIBLE CONSEQUENCES.

5 - Alternative lifestyles are a violation of GOD'S natural order HE established in CREATION, so this is NOT just sin - it's an abomination in the eyes of GOD!

Sister, I hope that the above helps you some. From a Biblical and Christian perspective, there is NO DEFENSE of alternative lifestyles because GOD has already bluntly spoken on these issues in many portions of the Bible. GOD has already BLUNTLY said NO, and there are no human arguments. I must add that Romans 1 and other portions of Scripture were written after the CROSS. There is ZERO acceptance of this behavior by GOD, and this will never change. The ONLY thing acceptable to GOD is repentance and coming to CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOUR!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hey guys!  Hope all is well with all of you.  I have had a really down day today.  The devil is fighting me with the feeling of hopelessness.  Please pray for me.  My son's friend is really influencing him in an unhealthy way.  Please pray that God will change her and break the hold that she has on him.  It is an extremely strong hold, and I know that it is the devil.  He was doing so good, and is still doing okay, but this person has gotten him so confused again.  Please pray that God will destroy this influence she has on him but also that God will help her see the error of her ways.  Please remember me in your prayers that God will help me find the strength to stay strong - like I said, it's been a horrible day!!!! :(

Hello Sctami,

You and your family are in my prayers every day, and you will stay there. This is just an idea - please consider forbidding him to see this person causing so many problems for him. This would be considered to be part of tough love, but there really wouldn't be anything unusual about such an action with any kind of problem. Anyone encouraging destructive behavior should be off-limits, especially when you're talking about life and death destructive behavior. That person is WRONG to even hint there is anything right or acceptable about this behavior. It's completely wrong from every perspective except from those destroying themselves with the same behavior. The price is horrible in this life and the one to come. A support group would tell you to set your foot down and say NO! Realistically, there are many other things you can say "NO!" to until your demands are met. By the way, "DEMAND" is the correct word. You pay the bills and provide everything, over and beyond necessities. We all do many things for our children that aren't required, and children need to know that in many circumstances. This is one of them!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Thank you so much, Tom, for all your advices.  I can demand he not talk to her while at home, but they go to school together.  I am praying for God to move her out the way - It is just so hard sometimes.  I know God is working, but sometimes I just need reassurance that he is still there and he still cares about me.  I guess I feel like sometimes I am just one person in this world full of so many, so why should he answer my prayer when there are so many others out there who need him just as much or more.  Satan fights me really hard a lot of days, and I know that is when I am closest to God.  Thank you for your continued prayers - I need them.

Title: Re: My Son
Post by: nChrist on August 19, 2008, 10:40:35 PM
Hello Sctami,

Let me think out loud for a moment. The stakes are high enough in this situation to consider everything. 1) Ask the school to keep them apart (Note: I realize this isn't very realistic);  2) Change schools for a new environment and new friends.

Changing schools might seem to be a drastic measure, but the potential consequences of wrong decisions are MORE drastic - life and death. You are probably near the beginning of school, so now might be the most appropriate time for this kind of a decision. If you consider doing this, I would suggest that you be very open and honest with your son and tell him what you expect and why you are doing what you're doing. There's nothing about this that's easy for you, so all of your motives are from LOVE. He also needs to understand that. At the same time, you might explain that you are prepared to do other actions if the problems continue. The main point is that you have options, and I realize that many of the options aren't pleasant and will cause more effort on your part. Again, that's part of LOVE.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello sctami, do you have any up-dates on your son?

Title: Re: My Son
Post by: sctami on August 24, 2008, 09:57:58 AM
My son had his therapy session Friday, but me and his dad go with him to the next one, which will be on Sept. 2nd at 5:30.  So between now and that date, lots of prayer would be much appreciated.  He seems to be doing okay.  He is still somewhat confused, but I think he realizes that there is an underlying reason for his homosexual feelings, and I am praying that the therapist will help him to figure those out.  I have been in communication with a group in my state, Exodus International, and I have been communicating with parents of children like my son and some of the ones who have actually been where my son is.  They have really given good advice.  They have told me that I will have to love him out of this - the one who loves the longes wins.  And it seems to be working - that along with the prayers of each of you.  Please continue to pray that things will be okay when we go back on September 2nd.  I am praying and worshipping God each day, and it keeps me going.  Thanks to all of you!!!!

You are most welcome, sctami.

I have heard wonderful things about the work of Exodus. I understand that they have some wonderful councilors available through them also as well as a really great support system. It really does sound like you are getting things pulled together at least in the right direction.

Rest assured that we will continue our prayers for you and your son.

My heart goes out to you sctami.  I will be praying everyday for you and your family.
Something you said earlier really struck me.  It was to effect of feeling insignifacant in a world of so many that need God too.  I have been through much in my life and I am amazed sometimes that God can care so much for me and my issues or failings.  But He DOES!  Just little ol' me and just little ol' you!  God IS love, so He can't help himself!  He sees each and every one of our lives and cares what is going on.  He truely is an individual and personal God.
I've said it before and I will say it again and again.  Whenever I'm in doubt I stand on:

Jeremiah 29:11  "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Stand on that wonderful promise and remember that Satan has already defeated!  If God is for you who can be against you, right?  And remember that God ALWAYS walks through our troubles with us.  Even when we can't feel Him, he is always right there.

Do keep us posted because we care for you.

In Christ,
Yvette

YOU GUYS ARE SOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!  I am going to keep him going to therapy; the mother in me will not let me stop fighting - I love him too much.

He posted a bulletin on his myspace that says "Monday is going to be awkward.  Probably all next week . . . I dunno.  I want to move.  Far far away."  I'm not exactly sure what this means.  It has me a little worried, but I know God is going to take care of him.  I asked him if everything was okay at school, and he said he thought so.  I told him if he wanted to change schools to let me know.  There are no other public schools where I live, but there is a private christian school in the town where I work that he can go to, which if he changes schools, he had agreed to that.  If thats what God wants, please pray that it will be.

Thanks for everything!!!

This includes every lasting happiness in this short life. As an example, Christians should know that lasting happiness is NOT MONEY AND THE LUSTS OF THIS WORLD. Discovery of a BIG SECRET is WONDERFUL:  PEACE WITH GOD MEANS BELONGING TO CHRIST AND EXPERIENCING A LOVE THAT THIS WORLD CAN'T OFFER!

GOD'S REAL LOVE can extend to every facet of our lives. Christians should also know that GOD'S REAL LOVE is many times tough love. Our HEAVENLY FATHER does discipline HIS Children when they disobey HIM. This is GOOD, but the first GOOD thing must be BELONGING TO HIM!

We will keep praying for your son. Above all, I pray that your son becomes a Purchased Possession of JESUS CHRIST, our LORD and SAVIOUR Forever!

Love In Christ,
Tom

My son has been really quiet the last few days.  I'm not sure if this is good or bad.  Some days I have a feeling of hopelessness and sadness.   I have placed it in God's hands but feel the need to constantly pray and ask God to please help him.  I am nervous about what Sept 2nd holds in store for my family.  The devil is really fighting me this week.  Thank you all so much for keeping my family in your prayers.  If you can, please say an extra one between now and Sept 2nd because we are really going to need it.  Pray that God will give me the strength to stay strong and hold on to my faith that he is in control and he is taking care of the situation and every thing that happens is according to his plan.  I guess everyone has their down days and needs a littlel encouragement.  I just keep telling myself that I may be at battle, but God has already won the war.  Please God, let me have the faith to continue to believe and trust and know that all things work together for good to those that love you and that all things that are happening to my son and my family are in your will and your perfect plan.

The youth minister for our state who helps with our youth camps and youth retreat is in our area running a revival.  Mitch went Sunday night and last night and heard him.  My brother took him last night and said that it was a message that my son, Mitch, really needed to hear.  He said it was about who you surround yourself with; to be careful who influences you; that when it comes down to you and God - that is who it should be - just you and God.  The evangelist will be at our church Thursday and Friday night.  Please pray that God will touch Mitch's heart and help him to see God's will for him.

My son seemed to have enjoyed the little mini revival.  And I believe he is uspet with the friend who was not a good influence on him.  At least that is what I heard from my niece, he won't tell me.  I am still worried about what may be said at the therapy session on Tuesday, sept. 2nd, so please continue to pray for me and him.  I do so hope he is still trying to let God direct his footsteps and that all will come out good on that day.  Thank you guys for support and prayers.  YA'LL ARE AWESOME!!!

Thanks Pastor Roger!  We are going to need all the prayers we can get.  I will let you guys know how everything goes.  Also tomorrow, I am calling the christian school in the town where I work.  My son is wanting to go there.  I am going to set up an appointment to go meet with them and let my son tour the school.  Pray that goes well also.  That appointment will probably not be until Wed or Thurs.  Tomorrow is my BIG DAY.  I feel at peace about things, but still nervous (if that makes sense).  You will never know how much all of your prayers and words of encouragement have meant to me.

Well, my first meeting is over.  IT WAS ROUGH!!!  Mitchell pretty much told me and his dad that we had kind of abandoned him to be by himself when he was little, and he always felt that he was a lone.  That we never tried to talk or communicate with him.  And then when we found out he had thought about suicide and that he is gay, then we wanted to communicate but he does not want us to communicate with him.  Of course, none of this is true, but I guess to him it is.  We didn't argue with him we just listened.  He said that he is a christian but still likes guys, that he is still gay.  I held back the tears as I sat there and listened.

I did note that when he was talking about his friend that he had a crush on, he said that it wasn't the physical attraction, but the emotional attraction.

He told me yesterday that he wanted me to set up an appointment to go check out the private christian school in the town where I work.  So, I did.  I set it up for 1:00 on Wednesday.  I even asked him 5 minutes before we went into therapy if he still wanted to do that, and he said yes.  Then after the meeting, while eating supper, he told me that he would go look at the school, then tell them he had changed his mind and wanted to stay at the school he now attends.  I asked him why, and he said that it would not be right to go to a christian school knowing he is gay.  Again, I held back my tears well.

Of course, after getting home and thinking a little more, he has now decided once again he wants to check out the school.  He informed me of this as I started to write this e-mail.

So, I guess what I am wondering is "is this progress"?  Is this all sounding like it is heading in the right direction?  And, by the way, I did cry all the way home, which was about a 30 minute drive.  I called my brother and talked with him, and he encouraged me some.  It is so difficult on him because I know that his daughter is causing him problems.  Please continue to pray that this is the path that God has chosen and that things will work together for his good.  I am a littled depressed and down right now but am looking for things to get better.  Hopefully, Mitch will like the school tomorrow.

Mitch has another meeting with the therapist by himself next Tuesday, and then the next week we have another family session.  Please continue to pray that I can leave this with god and not try to take it back.  It looks like I have already made a mess out of it to start with, I need him to do a lot of fixing.  Thanks guys!!!!

Sister, don't take this blame on your own shoulders. It won't do you or your son any good to look at it in that angle. Pointing fingers and laying blame is not a solution but rather a road block that will only get in the way of the solution.

A person that knows they are wrong will lay the blame anywhere they can in an attempt to make it seem right. It is the old saying "It is your fault that I am this way." A lack of taking responsibility for ones own actions. The whole entire truth of the matter is that homosexuality is a choice and it is one that apparently your son has made. Your son is responsible for the choices he has made. Yes, you as the parent can guide him, teach him in the right ways but in the end it is his choice and therefore his responsibility.

Your son seems to know this but is not willing to admit it. At least not yet. This is most likely the reason for the indecisiveness in going to the Christian school. There does seem to be some progress in this situation but it is a long way from reaching a conclusion. At least he is being a little more open in talking about it even though he may not be making sense to you or for that matter to himself either.

Continue in the strength of the Lord, sister. Do not backtrack.

I am trying hard to keep up the faith Pastor Roger.  I feel like that song that Karen Peck sings, "Will you hold me while I cry".  I know I have to keep pressing forward and that God will move when it is time and when he does it will bring honor and glory to him.  Keep me in your prayers that I can fight this battle know God is my armor, my shield, my sword and my victory.

Hello Sister Tami,

First, I want to say that I agree 100% with what Pastor Roger told you.

The back and forth - and conscience issues - tells me that you have tried to properly raise your son. The absence of conscience and knowing right from wrong is an indication that the parents failed miserably. The fact that you're having these conversations and trying so hard is also commendable. As parents, we can only do so much, and then we have to pray. There comes a point in every person's life when they have to take responsibility for their own actions. That point isn't far off for your son.

I spent most of my life in law enforcement, and I knew many young people who could offer some reasonable excuses, but they were nothing like your son. I'm talking about children who spent most of their young lives with little or NO love, abuse, neglect, molestation, torture, and you name it from people who were supposed to be their parents. It was obvious that they didn't have anyone who cared about them, and their so-called parents actually created monsters for society to deal with. You are obviously the opposite of a "don't care" parent. All of the facts and circumstances indicate that your son had parents who loved him, cared for him, and tried to raise him properly. The trials and heartbreak of what you're going through now are proof that you do care and always have. Otherwise - you would either encourage his wrong choices or simply call him names and kick him out the door without any effort to help him. In this case, I firmly believe it's wrong for him to play the "blame game" with you. In fact, he appears to be the opposite of those who could offer excuses and try to blame their parents.

Stick with it and HANG TOUGH. You are already praying and trying everything. The only thing I know you can do is to continue with patience and firmness - and keep praying. We will also keep praying.

I also agree with what has already been said and I will continue to pray for you and your family also.  Sometimes we want God to just hurry up and answer our prayers and not go through the process, which often involves pain, to get there.  God has a purpose in all of this and maybe it is the process and the time that it will take, for your son to find the truth.  I'm praying that he will eventually go to the Christian school because that would be such a wonderful environment for him right now.
Please keep us posted and informed of how we can pray for you.

Mitchell is starting to his new school tomorrow.  He decided that he wanted to give the private christian school a try.  He seems excited.  The principal asked why he wanted to change, and Mitch told him because the environment at the school he was in now is not good for the direction in which he wants his life to go.  That he wanted to be in a school that had a better environment for him to be in.  I think that was a pretty good answer myself.  It seems the prayers may be working.  He will have a bible class each day and chapel on Wednesday mornings.  He thinks this is "cool".  I will let you know how things go.  Thanks for the prayers!!!  My day today was much, much better than yesterday.

AMEN!

I think that the answer your son gave to the Christian school was WONDERFUL! Christian parents around the country are either going in the same direction or homeschooling for the very same reason your son mentioned. I say pat him on the back, give him an extra hug, and tell him that you're proud of him. From everything you've said, you let him make this decision, and you would have let him stay where he is. He might just have made one of the most important decisions of his life. I know that he had help, BUT HE MADE THIS DECISION! YES - we will keep praying for him and your family. I agree completely again with Pastor Roger that it's not time to let your guard down. Regardless of circumstances, this is a rough time for young people in this age group. They need all of the love, encouragement, and prayer we can give them. Even the best, most skilled, and hardest trying parents in the world need help from GOD in raising their children. The prayer and requested HELP FROM GOD should be for the GOOD TIMES also - times where there are no problems. It should go without saying that we also need to be THANKING GOD every day! ALL GOOD THINGS COME FROM HIM!

Christian Quotes 83 - In waiting upon God, the first thought is of the
God upon whom we wait. We enter His presence and feel we need just to
be quiet, so that He, as God, can overshadow us with Himself. Just be
still before Him, and allow His Holy Spirit to waken and stir up in
your soul the childlike disposition of absolute dependence and
confident expectation. Wait upon God as a Living Being, as the Living
God, who notices you and is longing to fill you with His salvation.

different. -- Andrew Murray

People tell him so all the time, but he can't understand why they think that.

Perhaps he needs to hear why he is such an awesome young man and not just that he is?

It is always a good thing to let a child know when they have done good and what it is they have done and even perhaps why it is good.

They (and I)  tell him why but I think his self-esteem is just so low that he doesn't understany why people feel that way.  He needs prayer to see that what people tell him is true and not just something that they think he wants to hear.  God has done so much for him already.  I know that he can do this also!!

Work?  Right now it's not very pleasant to me.  I keep praying and what I hear back is: "I am God.  This is my ministry."  So I am just waiting on Him and trying to deal with my anger, which goes up and down.  Anger is not something that is very constructive or productive so I'm praying to get rid of it and just rest in the Lord.  Sometimes it's hard just being a plain old, faulty human isn't it?  ;D

Good Morning Sister Tami!

Things are sounding good. I think it would be good for ALL of us to keep each other in our prayers. Reference your son, sometimes "no news" is "good news". Maybe that means that he's settling in and adjusting well. I hope and pray this is the case.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers during last month.  Mitchell, my son, seems to be really happy at his new school.  He has made new friends and is showing some interest in a young girl there, who he wants to ask to be his girlfriend.  I would like to ask you to pray for my brother.  His daughter came home the other day and told him that she was engaged, to another girl.  Please pray for him and his daughter.  Hope all of you are doing great and I am praying for you all.  Thanks guys!!!

Unfortunately I am afraid that we are going to be seeing so much more of this as indoctrination in homosexuality in public schools increases.

That's the kicker right there PR.
sctami, I'm so glad to hear some good news about Mitch!  That's great.   I will also keep you brother and his daughter in prayer.  Prayer is our weapon in these days.

Hey guys!  Need some prayer here.  The little girl that Mitch likes, well her parents told her she could not date him because he is a good christian.  She too is a christian, but is scared to tell her parents that because they are wiccans.  Her parents told her she had to date this other guy who is not into christianity.  This has hurt Mitch and he is feeling rejected, which I feel is causing some of his old feelings to return.  God has moved so much in his life.  Please pray that this will not cause him to fall back into his homosexual feelings.  He really likes this girl, and I feel she likes him to but is afraid to say so.  Please pray that Gold will move in this situation that Mitch will not feel hurt and rejection because of this but that he will move on and find the one he is supposed to talk to and if it is her, that God will move in her parents so that she can talk to Mitch.  The devil is fighting him since he is doing so good, and I don't want him to get Mitch back on the wrong path.  PLEASE PLEASE PRAY!!!

Hello Tami,

I'm still praying for your son. I am somewhat confused and trying to understand why wiccan parents would pay to put their daughter in a Christian school. It would seem that a Christian school would be a NO NO for wiccans. I am aware of some people who like to compare wiccans with Christians, but there is no comparison.

Love In Christ,
Tom

That is confusing, they won't let her date a Christian yet they have her in a Christian school? It definitely doesn't make any sense.

Her name is AJ.  She had been a rebellious teen at a young age (13) and got kicked out of public school.  The only choice they had for a school was Sumter Christian (where she attends) or Wilson Hall (which would cost an extra $3,000 to $5,000).   Wilson Hall is for the extremely wealthy families.  So, their only choice was Sumter Christian.  They are trying to move her out but she cannot go back to public school and they cannot afford another private school.  They are not allowed to home school here.  AJ has changed her life since she started attend Sumter Christian and likes Mitchell alot.  She believes in christianity now, but her family is not happy about that.  They are not allowing her to hang out with good christian people or attend service in a christian church.  She is really having a hard life.  Please pray for her.  Mitchell said he is praying for her because she is unhappy at home.

I know it sounds weird to have to go to a christian school when your family is wiccan.  But right now, they have no other choice.  And this may be what is needed to bring them where they need to be.  Please pray for this family.

Hello Sister Tami,

I will also pray for A.J. Maybe GOD worked it out for her to be in a Christian school. We do need to remember that GOD does as HE pleases in heaven and on earth. This is just one reason why Christians should keep praying and Trust GOD, especially in these increasingly difficult times. Regardless of what happens in this evil world, we still belong to CHRIST, and this world IS NOT our home.

Tom

Thanks everyone!  I need those prayers!  why is it that when you are finally feeling hopeful, like everything is falling into place, the devil throughs something in there to bring you down and destory your joy?  It's been one of those days!!!  Like the song says, "God, will you just holdl me while I cry?"  I am not going to let the devil claim my victory for my son!  I know it is going to be along process for my son, he is still young and unsure of his sexual feelings, but I gave him to God when he was born, and he still belongs to him.  The devil keeps trying to bring me down, and I have got to learn to lean on God more.  I know I am in a fight, but I know that God has already won the battle.  Please pray for me to keep the faith and to stay strong.  Every time I give God praise, the devil tries to bring me down.  Pray that my faith will be unwaivering, for both me and my son!  You guys just do not know how great it feels to know that there are people out there who I can talk to who care and who are willing to help me pray.  You all are heaven sent and I thank God for each of you!

Sister, prayer is a privilege and powerful work that can be rightly done only by the Christian.  God is not moved by the prayers of unbelievers for they are not in Christ, not covered by His blood, and are still in their sins.  But, those who are in Christ, can move mountains, because they have the ear of God Himself.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

We have victory in Jesus. As I said at the beginning of this post, prayer is a privilege and powerful work that can be rightly done only by the Christian.  Prayer is our greatest weapon in this world and we must not forget it.  We must use it, and become familiar with prayer because it makes a difference and this world and in your hearts

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Right now I am fighting rulers of the darkness of the world and spiritual wickedness!!!  There is someone, I am not sure who, is trying to fix my son up with another guy!  Please help me pray, PLEASE!!  I know God can handle this and it makes me angry at the devil for doing this!  I am at complete war here with the devil and all his evil!  He is trying to destroy my son who is doing so good at trying to be good.  He is putting little thoughts in his head that I am finding on different notes he has written and thrown away, but I always find on accidnet.  Maybe it is God letting me find these to let me know that I need to pray more or pray harder.  Please help me pray - it seems like when I start climbing the mountain from the valley the devil tries to push me back down.  Please help me pray that all this wickedness will be driven out of my son's life.  IT HAS BEEN ONE BAD DAY!!!!

My son has been very quiet the last couple of days, and it has me worried.  I found a note which he wrote a friend about how he was disappointed in himself for letting himself believe something that was not the way it was.  He said he could not believe he had set himself up for that much hurt.  I am pretty sure he is talking about liking AJ and thinking AJ liked him.  The last time this happened with a girl was when he lost confidence in himself and looked for answers in the wrong direction (homosexuality).  Please pray that he will see if that is what happened or whatever it was that did happen, God let it happen for his good.  AJ, I am pretty sure, was the one who was trying to fix him up with a guy.  From what I have found out, AJ told Mitch she was bi-sexual (or used to be).  Mitch just seems very unhappy the last couple of days, and I do not want all that has gone so right in his life this last month to be torn down.  Please pray that he will see that God is working in his favor and that everything that happens is what God wants at the time and will always work out for our good in the end.

Hey everyone!  Just checking in with you guys.  Hope all of you are doing good.  My week has been so-so.  I've been down a good bit this week - just been feeling a heavy burden which has had me praying a lot.  But I know that on the other side of this trial, is a land of blessings.  I guess going through the valley is what makes me a stronger christian.  My son still isn't quite acting himself - still quiet and seems some of his joy has faded.  I know this is satan trying to creep back in, but I keep rebuking him in the name of Jesus, and I know that my son is going to be OK!  I keep telling myself to just hold on, God will move in his own time, which is always best.  It's a struggle, but I am keeping the faith!  Must admit, the last couple of days, I have cried a lot of tears  :'(, but God sees those tears and he will wipe them away.  He will help me reach my mountain top, and I will smile again!  Thanks for all your prayers, for without them, I don't know if I could be as strong as I am.  The devil fights hard, but I know with all the christian friends I have praying, he will never win!  Love you guys!!!

Hello Sister Tami,

I've been without a computer, so I haven't been able to reply. You and your family are still in my prayers. As Christians, we have GOD with us and in us. HE will help us and walk with us. Regardless, we should all know that we have a lifelong struggle against our old man of sin and the devil. GOD didn't promise Christians an easy time in this short life. An excellent description of us would be as Christian Soldiers for the REAL and ONE COMMANDER AND CHIEF AND KING OF KINGS - ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 6:11-20  Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;  19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,  20  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Thank you so much for asking about my son - makes me feel great knowing you guys are all praying!!!

He seems to be a little happier, and I really believe there may be a girl he likes, but he will not tell me.  My nience, who is our youth minister, is going to pick him up from school on Thursday and see if he will talk some with her.  If she lets me know anything, I will definitely share with my prayer warriors!!

He is going to our church youth retreat next weekend (Nov. 21-23, I believe).  He is excited about going.  Please be praying that he will receive an awesome, awesome blessing while he is there - that God will pour his spirit all over him.

Please continue to pray that christian friends will come into his life that are great role models and will lead him down the right path!! THANKS GUYS!!!! :)

Hey everybody!!!  Just wanted to send you a guys an update!

Mitchell seems to be doing better.  In his surveys on his myspace, when it asks "do you love someone" or "does someone love you", he has been putting "I love my parents", "my parents love me".  That is good for Mitchell.  He used to would not put that he would just put "LOL - No!".  And the other day, he told me I was a good mom.  It made me feel so good to hear him say that.

Please pray for Mitch's leg.  He hurt it at fall fest at his school when he slid into the dunking booth.  He was trying to make one of his friends fall in, and slid on the wet grass and scraped his leg.  It is starting to get infected, and I had to take him to the doctor to get an antibiotic.  Please pray that it will heal quickly so he can enjoy his weekend at youth retreat (it is this fri, sat and sun coming up).   He is so excited!  Please pray that God will bless him and that he will keep moving in the right direction!

Today has been a very good day for me!  My niece (our youth minister at church) let me know that Mitchell told her that he does not believe that he is gay anymore and that he does not feel that he is struggling with those feelings any longer.  He said that he is still depressed over different things.  But from what I understand, a lot of teens struggling with some sort of depression during the teen years.  I believe going to counseling will continue to help him with the depression.  I was just so HAPPY to hear that he no longer feels "gay".  I do so pray that this is true and not some sort of cover.  I have to trust in God and walk by faith - but I do so praise him for a little sight.   His loeg is also doing much better.

Please keep Mitch in your prayers for the homosexual feelings to stay gone and for him to not be so depressed.  I do not think his depression is as deep as it was during the summer, but please continue to pray that God will take the depression away!

I just had to let you guys know that things are looking up!  Thank you so much for your continued prayers!!!!

Please pray that he will stay strong and on the path that he is now walking.  I am claiming victory in the name of Jesus!

Hello Sister Tami,

YES, I will keep praying for your son.

Sister, I was just thinking that many or most of us have had people praying for us most of our lives, with or without a known need. Prayer is a beautiful gift that we can give to each other, and GOD loves to hear our prayers. Using myself as an example, I know that I've had Godly parents, family members and friends praying for me since I was born, and the prayers continue. There were countless times of extreme danger, and I really needed those prayers. Those praying didn't know the specifics, but GOD did. We all also have a lifetime fight against the old man of sin, even though our MASTER IS NOW JESUS CHRIST. All Christians know about this fight, and we can ask GOD to help us. We should all also know that we can do very little alone because we're weak, BUT we're never alone once we belong to JESUS CHRIST, our LORD and SAVIOUR forever! We can do all things ONLY in CHRIST because of HIS Strength - not our own. GOD gets all of the GLORY!

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 Peter 4:10-13 ESV  As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:  11  whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies--in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.  12  Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.  13  But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

Hey everyone!  My son still seems to be doing good with his struggle against the homosexual feelings he was having.  The only problem I am having now seems to be angry feelings he seems to be having towards me and his dad.  He leaves notes where they can eventually be found by me where he writes things like, "I am more mature than those two people will every be; they do not deserve to be called parents; my mom is a senile religious freak; when my sister moves out it will leave me alone with those people (his parents); and really hurtful statements like these.  I am not sure where all this has come from and whether it is typical teenage rebellion.  But please do pray for these feelings that he is having towards me and his dad to go away.  I want him to see just how much I do love and care for him.

Hello Sister Tami,

Being a good parent is NOT a popularity contest. Most kids don't understand this until they reach about their mid 20's or have children of their own. One of the jobs of parents is to keep their children alive. This alone is a significant chore in this day and age.

Sister, maintain your stance and GOD will help you. We will all keep praying for you and your family.

Tom

Well, I have been praying so hard and have requested all my friends to help me pray for Mitchell's attitude.  He came home tonight, in a pretty good mood, and asked his dad if he could go buff the store floor with him on Wednesday morning and then go to breakfast before school.  (my husband owns a side business doing floors)  I am so praying that this is a good move and that Mitchell is not wanting to tell him something horrible or hurtful.  My husband could not do it this Wednesday (tomorrow) because he has to go to Columbia, so Mitch said they could do it next Wednesday.  Please, please pray that this is something wonderful that is taking place.  I know I do not need to doubt this, but I guess I am human, and as a mother, worried.  I do hope and pray he is really wanting to spend time with his father.

We are trying to buy a house in Sumter, which is where I work and Mitch goes to school.  Mitchell is really excited about this.  Please pray that if this is what God wants us to do, that we will be able to find a home which we can afford and can qualify for a low rate loan.  I am trying so hard to mend things with Mitchell.  Please pray that things are finally starting to heal for my family.

Thanks Guys!!!  By the way, where has grammyluv been?  I haven't heard from her lately.  Hope everything is okay.

We went and looked at a house today.  Please pray that if it is God's will that the money will come through for us to purchase it.  Mitchell and my daughter (Haley) are extremelyl excited.  Mitchell said that we do not realized just how much happier he will be when he gets to move.  He said that it will make every aspect of his life happier.  I feel that having to live where we do now with all the memories that he has really brings him down.  He has to leave all of his new friends in Sumter to come home to where he feels he has no one, and in a way I think he blames me and his dad for that.  If it is want God wants for my family, please pray that we will get the house and my life, and Mitchell's will be much happier.  My husband is going to call the bank tomorrow to see what we need to do.  Please be praying!!!

Hey!!  I need some prayer help here!!!  Everything is going great with getting the house!  If all goes well, we will close around January 20th.

However, tonight my son surprised me with who he wants to hang out with after school tomorrow - his old friend Christina (the one who helped convince him he was gay and has a horrible family life).  She has gotten in contact with him and told him that she has changed and wants to be his friend.  I just do not trust here.  Please help me pray about this.  Someone sent me a quote that says "When God is about to reposition your life know that the devil will began to attack!"

I told him that I did not want him to hang out with her, that she had hurt him before and I just did not trust her.  He said that was fine, and if I didn't want him to hang out with her, then he wouldn't. But now, I know I will get "wrote about" in his papers.  I don't know what to do.  I know it is best if he doesn't hang with her, but he doesn't understand that I am doing it out of love and concern.  He just sees it as "not trust him and wanting him to have friends".

Things were going soooooo good.  What happened?  Please help me pray that he will see I am not trying to hurt him but trying to love him, with everything I have that is what I am trying to do!  Please pray for me!!  :'(

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!!  Sorry its late!

I have been busy these last couple of weeks.  We found a house, and are waiting on the bank to do their paperwork to send to the attorney.  We had a home inspection done and are waiting on the sellers to agree to the repairs that need to be made.  Needless to say, we had a very, very small Christmas, but I do not think Mitchell and my daughter were too upset.  They are ready to move.

Mitchell still seems to be doing good.  As far as I know, he has not been talking with Christina, which makes me happy.  He has his good days and his bad days.  I see signs where he is changing and trying to become more masculine.  Then there are days when I question certain things but keep my faith that God is working and moving him in the right direction.

Please continue to pray for my family and the home.  I really do believe it is what needs to be done right now.  We are getting the home at a great price and at a really good interest rate.

Hope all of you are doing well and had a wonderful holiday!!!

It looks like we will be closing on the house January 20th.  Mitchell has told Brittney (my niece) that this is really making a difference in his life.  He wanted a Quest Bible for Christmas (which I got him).  He told Britt that he loves his bible, he still loves his school and it feels like his life is finally getting on track.  As I am sure is normal, he still has his days, but he seems to be having a lot more better days than bad.  He is getting to where he sits in the room and eats with us, talks with us and watches tv with us.  It feels good!!!!  Please keep the prayers going.

I hope everything is going great with each of you!!!! :)

Thanks for keeping us informed Sister Tami. It's nice to hear some good news from time to time. In fact, it's nice to shut the noise of this world out and quietly think about nothing but Good when we can. I like to do this with Bible Study every day, and it's amazing how much good this could do for all Christians. It's nice to think of this as a time of fellowship with GOD. By the way, this is something good for the whole family to do together.

Love In Christ,
Tom

John 3:16-20 NASB  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.  "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

Please pray for me this week.  I am feeling a little down.  Mitchell is doing good, he really is.  He has made a couple of comments, not near as bad as he used to, but they kind of hurt my feelings.  I believe he is trying to put on for one of his friends from his old school, Brody.  He and Brody have been friends since third grade.  Brody is the cousin of Josh (the one who helped convince Mitch he was gay).  Brody is not that way, and I am glad he is still friends with Mitchell after everything that has happened.  But, Mitchell is trying to be one way with him and another with everyone else.  Right now, moving really does seem to be the best thing.  Maybe being in the town where all his new friends are will help loosen the bond between he and Brody.  If it is meant for them to still be friends, I pray that attitudes change, in both of them.

Brody doesn't have the best home life, and his dad will not allow Mitchell over there because of things that Josh's family has told him about Mitchell.  So, I think Mitchell has to put on a front and talk about how bad his life is (which he tells everyone else he is happy).

Please pray for me this week!!  Things were going so good, the devil has to try to stir it up!!!

I believe I have figured out part of what is bother Mitchell.  He sees all of his friends with their girlfriend or boyfriend, and he told one of his friends that he wishes he had a girlfriend.  His self-confidence is better than what it used to be but he is still scared to ask a girl out.  There is one little girl that he likes, but he is scared to ask her.  Please pray that his confidence will boost a little more and that a girl that God approves of will come along and light up his eyes!!  I think that is part of the problem, he has friends, but in a way, he is lonely.

He has some of his old friends from his old school contacting him.  I can tell a difference in Mitchell when he is talking with these friends and when he is not.  He is a totally different person.  He is a lot better person away from these people.  I need God's guidance in this situation.  I don't want these bad influences back in his life.  I am praying for Godly friends to stay in his life.  This move cannot come soon enough!!!  Please let your prayers continue!!!!

Hi everyone!!!  Sorry it took so long for an update, but we have been busy moving, and we just got the internet hooked up late yesterday.  My son seems to be happy in the new house.  He went to the therapist Monday, and he goes back on February 23rd.  From what I can understand, that will be his last session, so the therapist must thing he is doing great.  He is still a little quiet, but he has eaten supper in the same room as the rest of the family the last couple of nights.

Please keep us in your prayers that things will keep heading in the right direction.  We are having a one night youth revival tomorrow (friday) night.  Please pray that Mitchell will be blessed.  He is helping with the music part; my nephew and niece have been teaching him some songs on his base guitar.   Thanks for the prayers, they are working!!!

Mitchell's youth night at church went great!   He is doing so good!  The move was a very positive thing.  I know it was God's will because the devil has been fighting us so hard since we moved.  The closing had to be delayed; then the first night in the house, when we woke up, the toilets were all backed up; Mitchell had his first fender-bender; it seems like problems every turn, but that just let's me know that God is at work.  The good news is that Mitchell has a girlfriend.  Her name is McKayla.  She is a really good christian girl.  He is soooooo excited.  He really is doing good.  Thank you so much for all your prayers and thank you so much for thinking of Mitchell.

We are still short a computer at home, but I will keep you updated as much as possible while I am at work.  I hope everything is going good for all of you!!!   ;D

Mitchell is still doing really good.  The accident he had is causing us some difficulty, but we are doing good.  The lady who hit him has decided she needs a lawyer.  You know how that goes.  Mitchell did pull out in front of her, but she was going too fast.  However, the city policeman did not question her because she called her "head highway patrol friend" to the scene to stand with her.  Therefore, they did not question her at all.  It was a 35 mile an hour speed zone.  She claims she slammed on her brakes and tried to stop.  If she had been going full speed, I would hate to see what she would have done to my car.  I have a Toyota Highlander SUV.  It is a pretty good size heavy made SUV.  She completely spun it and had it heading in the opposite direction and bend the tire completely sideways.  She had to be going pretty fast.  She was fine when she left the scene but has since went the the ER and hired an attorney.  Please pray that God will move in this situation.  Mitchell is my son, but she was in the wrong too, just not punished as he was.  Pray that God will handle this situation.

Mitchell and McKayla are still talking, and he is very happy.  He said that he could not believe that a girl that pretty would ever like him.  Please pray that this continues.  He is still making male friends at school and seems to be heading in the right direction.  Thanks for all the prayers.

Well, Mitchell went to court yesterday, and his ticket got dropped because the lady in the other car did not show up.  At least he didn't have to pay a fine or lose any points off his license.  Now we just have to wait to see how much her attorney will be asking for.  The insurance company had to total my car because they said it would cost more to fix than what it is worth.  I do not understand how, if she was going less than 30 miles per hour, she could do over $8,000 damage to my Toyota Highlander.  But I have given to God to handle.

Mitchell and McKayla are not together right now.  They decided that since they were in different towns, to break up.  Mitchell, of course, blames himself, that he is not socially acceptable and overweight and ugly.  Of course, none of this is true, but his self confidence is still low.  Please pray for him.  They really do like each other, and if it is meant for them to date each other for now, then God will work it out.  They are both devoted christians, but I believe her parents are really strict and wouldn't allow her to talk on the phone or computer much, which put a damper on their relationship.  Please pray that God will move in this situation for what he wants and what he knows is best.  Mitchell is a little down, but my niece is going to spend the day with him tomorrow and that usually cheers him up.  She is his cousin and youth minister, and he talks to her when he will not talk to anyone else.  Thanks for the prayers, please keep them coming!!!

Sorry it has been a while, but I hope all is going well for all of you.

Everything here is still going.  It seems the more I praise and thank God for all that is going so right in Mitchell's life, the more I get knocked down.  The devil is fighting so hard right now.  Mitchell seems to have regressed some in his self-esteem issues. I'm not sure what happened.  He had one more therapy session left, but the therapist feels he needs to keep coming right now; she said that "he is still doing good but is having a hard time right now".  I am not sure what that means.  I feel it has a lot to do with his dad.  He feels his dad is hard on him and doesn't like him.  That he is not the son his dad wanted.  His dad just wants him to learn responsibility.  He takes him out to work with him when he goes to pull his bread up (he's a sara lee breadman).  And he is trying to teach Mitch the fast, right way to do it, and Mitch takes it as him critizing.  Mitchell tried to impress him by doing something with the church for the school he goes to, and feels his dad didn't approve of that either.  I don't know.  I have gotten to where I can cry every night.  I have been up so high now with everything going good and giving God praise, and I know it is just the devil trying to knock me down.

Mitchell is feeling low and confused. Pray that he will realize the MAN God made him to be and that there is a girl out there somewhere made just for him.  He feels no girl wants him and thus brings up the old feelings of being homosexual.  He knows deep in his hear that is not true, but the devil can fight so hard sometimes, especially when you are down on yourself.

Please pray for Mitchell and me.  We both need strength right now.

I hope you all know that I am praying for each of you.  You are my prayer warriors that I lean on in times of need.  I appreciate y'all more that words can say.  Thank you for all the prayers and advice.

Having been a son and a Dad both I can understand the situation. It is easy to sound negative and judgmental when instructing our children and it is just as easy to forget to give encouragement when needed and compliments when they are deserved. Both of these are things that our children do need now and then right along with instruction and correction. Looking at it from the opposite side it is just as easy to take notice of the instruction and correction and not to take note of when the others are done. Sometimes it is of importance for the parent to take the time with our children to explain and emphasize both with them so that they will take notice and fully understand that we do love them and want the best for them.

My prayers for you all continue.

Thought I would let you know that Mitchell signed up for baseball at school.  He said he is really loving it.  He plays his first game tonight.  I won't get to see it because it is out of town and I had to work, but I know he will have fun!  I am hoping that this will also bring him and his dad closer.  His dad told him that he would get out and practice with him throwing, batting and catching pop-ups.  Please pray that Mitchell will do good and have fun!  He is really excited.  This has him talking about signing up for soccer.  And he really seems to be getting along with the other guys on the team, which, to me, is a good thing.  I will keep you updated as to how he does on the team.  But he really seems to be excited.

Hey everyone!!  I know it has been a while since I was on, but Mitch has been keeping me busy with baseball practice and games, but he seems to be enjoying it.

I have a prayer request that I would like for you to pray about.  Mitchell went to our church youth camp last year, which he loved.  That is where he started on the right path to Jesus Christ and has been doing great so far.  Our church camp this year will be the week of, I believe, June 13-18.  Mitchell had been talking since last year about how he was looking forward to going back to camp this year.  Last week, he stated that he did not think he was going to go this year.  He really needs to go.  This is so uplifting and encouraging for the youth.  They get to spend time with people their own age worshipping God and enjoying so many blessings.   Please pray that he will decide to go.  I know it would help him stay strong.

We also have a youth day for our church statewide on April 25th.  As far as I know, he is going to that.  Please pray that God will bless him there and place the longing in his heart to go to camp.  I know camp did so much for him last year.  Pray that his friends from camp last year that will be there will be able to convince him to go to camp with them.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Hello Everyone!  I know it has been a while since I've been on, but moving, working and ball has kept me busy.

Everything really seems to be going pretty good.  Mitchell still seems happy.

However, the devil is really fighting me this week.  It seems that things are going so good, he has to step in and stir the pot.  I know it is the devil.  He keeps throwing things out here and there to make me doubt what God has done in Mitchell's life.   The mother in me worries anyway but it just seems like this week is really tough.  Please pray for God's guidance for me.  We have come so far.  Please pray that God will help me and give me the strength to hold on and accept all that he has done and not to question or worry.  Just accept and believe.

This time of year is hard for me since it is Mother's Day, Father's Day, the anniversary of my mother's death and my father's birthday.  It will be hard for me all the way through September (which is the anniversary of my father's death) and of course then the holidays that you always spend with family starts.  I miss them so much and I miss being able to go to them for their advice and guidance.  They were such strong christians.  To have lost them at such an early age hurts.  They were my best prayer warriors, counselors, advisors and shoulder to cry on.

I really need your prayers right now.  Mitchell and I both do.  Please pray that God will send him a "girlfriend" that he can spend time with and talk to.  He says that he feels there is no one out there who would want him as a "boyfriend".  Please pray that God will send the right one along to boost his self esteem.  It is so hard watching him be so down on himself at times.  He feels that he is an awkward, nerdy, geek that girls only want as friends.  He is such a totally awesome young man.

Sorry to have burdened all of you with this but I just feel a little down and depressed right now and could really use some encouragement.

Thanks everybody!

Thank you all for your prayers.  When you pray, please pray for my husband.  He used to be such a devoted christian but has strayed away, further than I would like him to be.  Please pray that God will touch his heart and bring him back where he needs to be.  He has grown so cold against church.  I really need your prayers when it comes to this.  It makes Mitchell mad at his dad and it hurts me.  Please pray that my husband's attitude will change and peace will come between my entire family.  I know this plays a big part in the problems that Mitchell is having, and it is putting a strain on our marriage and family life.  Please pray for God to turn this situation around.  It has taken me a long time to accept that my husband is not the man he used to be.  And now that I have, I need prayer warriors to join me in praying for him to make his way back.

Hello Sister Tami,

Your husband will be in my prayers.

I was just thinking something that I would like to share. As Christians, we all have needs, spoken or not. We should all keep each other in our prayers every day.

As an example, many Christians of today are feeling discouraged and beaten because of the things that are happening around us. By all appearances, many see the devil increasing and GOD decreasing. As the Tribulation Period grows closer, things will become more and more evil. These things do not mean that GOD is beaten. GOD will simply be giving evil men what they want for a season, and it will be the last season for those evil men before the Second Coming of Christ.

As Christians, ALL of GOD'S PROMISES to us are YEAH and AMEN! We are to pray, ask for strength, ask for HIS WILL, and yield to HIS WILL! However, we are just human beings, and we sometimes get discouraged, especially if we have neglected our relationship with GOD. We must feed our spirit with GOD'S WORD and make GOD the head of all things in our lives. We can have varying levels of HIS strength when we PRAY and ASK for it. TRUST ME - ALL CHRISTIANS NEED THE STRENGTH OF GOD EVERY DAY! LET ME BACK UP AND CORRECT MY HUGE ERROR - DON'T TRUST ME - TRUST GOD!

Love In Christ,
Tom

2 Samuel 22:1-3 ASV  1  And David spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: 2 and he said, Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine; 3 God, my rock, in him will I take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge; My saviour, thou savest me from violence.

Hello everyone!  It has been a while since I have been on.  I hope everyone is doing great!!!

Mitchell seems to be doing good; he took himself out of therapy.  He told his therapist that he didn't have anything else he needed to work through but he seems content.  He just needs help with his self esteem.  It is still low but I am still praying.

I found out last week that my sister will not be needing to move into my old house that my husband and I own; so we are putting it up for sale.  Please pray that we will be able to sell it.  This would help out greatly financially as Mitchell's school and the new house have us financially strained.  However, it is worth it to see him happier.

My husband is still having issues with the "Jesus thing" as he puts it.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Sister, yes I will keep praying for y'all, and the house. I'll also be praying more for your husband, as I feel we only have a short time left. This is only my opinion though sister.

Hello everyone!  It has been a while since I have been able to get on, but I have been thinking about and praying for all of you!

Hopefully, the house we are trying to sell will close on July 30th.  Then I will be back down to just one house, which will be a blessing!   Mitchell seems to be doing good.  He seems a lot happier than he was this time last year, and him and his dad seem to be getting a long a little better.

Please continue to pray for my husband that he will become the christian that he used to be, and continue to pray for Mitchell that he will stay strong and that his self esteem will continue to rise until he becomes the man that God wants him to be.

Thank all of you for the prayers that you have been praying for me and my family.  They are working, so please keep them coming.  God bless each of you and you will always be in my prayers!!!!

Hello Sister Tami,

Thank you sincerely for your prayers and know that you and your family will remain in our prayers. I'm very happy to hear about progress and God blessing your family.

Prayer is a wonderful thing that God has given us to love each other like God wants us to. HE also loves to hear our prayers because it's part of our fellowship with each other. As Christians, we are already one in Christ. The reality of this is beautiful, and God answers our prayers according to HIS Perfect Will and Purpose for each one of us.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Mark 13:30-35 ASV  30  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32 But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch. 35 Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning;

Hey everybody!!!  If all goes well, we close on the house we are selling on Thursday, July 30th.  Then I will be back down to only one house to take care of.  Mitchell still seems to be doing good and is ready to start back to school at his private christian school again this year.  He said that he really loves it there.

I don't know whether you remember me saying anything to you about my brother's daughter who claims to be a lesbian and is in it really deep, but God is starting to move on her.  She is starting to want to spend time with family and, I believe, there may be a guy she is interested in.  She does not have all the pictures of girls being sexual on her myspace page any more.  She still has orientation as lesbian but she is starting to come to church some now.  Please keep her in your prayers and my brother.   God is moving in my family in a great way, and I praise him everyday for that.

I hope all of you are doing good.  I consider you all my prayer warriors and friends, even though we have never met.  May God bless each of you!!!

Please be praying for Mitchell.  He came home today and said that he wants to graduate this year instead of next year.  I do not understand what happened and why he has made this decision.  Please pray that it is part of God's plan for him, if he does decide to do this.  We are supposed to have a family meeting when I get home from work today (which will be in like 30 minutes).  Please pray that God will move him in the right direction

Good morning!  Just wanted to give an update about my son.  Everything seemsto be going good.  He has decided to stay in 11th grade this year and graduate next year.  The principal has agreed to schedule his classes before lunch next year so he can leave early and go take classes at Tech in the afternoon.  That way he will be able to qualify for all of his scholarships.  If he graduates this year, he will be knocked out of some of them.

They have had this thing at school this week called War of Special Forces.  It is a teenage program that comes to the school every four years.  And I am thankful that it came while Mitchell was there.  He has really enjoyed it.  They meet at the church of the school every evening at about 6:00 and stay until about 9:00 doing different activities devotions and counseling.

When I got home Thursday, he said that he wanted to talk with me and his dad and show us something.  He said that he had been going to counseling and his counselor had really been helping him.  He showed us where he had put a tracking/blocking program on the computer and let me set the password so he wouldn't know what it was.  He said that two of his friends in 7th grade had gotten him into things on the computer he shouldn't have been.  And he was wanting to put a little trust back into our relationship with each other.  He said that he wanted to be able to start trusting us again and us start trusting him again.  He said it was something he was working through with counseling, his family and God.  I WAS SO TOUCHED!!!!

Please pray that he continues to grow in his spirituality.  I feel like this is a really good step in the right direction and I am finally getting my son back.  Please keep my family in your prayers.

Hello Sister Tami,

It sounds like things are going good and God is helping to work everything out for good. I will give thanks and keep him in my prayers.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 7:5-6 NLT  When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced sinful deeds, resulting in death.  6  But now we have been released from the law, for we died with Christ, and we are no longer captive to its power. Now we can really serve God, not in the old way by obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way, by the Spirit.

Your family definitely is still in my prayers. It really does sound like your son has come along way and there are many reasons to praise and thank God for this.

Hello everyone!  It has been a while since I have been on.  I have been busy with moving, selling my house and getting settled.  My son seems to be doing pretty good.  I would ask that you please remember him the weekend of the 20th - 22nd.  He will be going to our church's youth retreat.  Please pray that God will move on him and he will come home a strong man in Christ.  I still have questions and every once in a while doubt creeps in.  Please pray for me to hold strong to my faith that God has delivered him from his homosexual feelings and that he is the man that God created him to be.  We are both doing better, but there is still that fear of a mother that gets the best of me.  Please pray that God will send me the comfort I need in knowing that he is moving in this situation and he has it under control AT ALL TIMES.
I hope you all are doing good!  I am still praying for all of you as I think of you often.

I have a special request.  Please pray for Mitchell.  I found a paper this morning he has written where he is having his "homosexual" feelings again for a guy at school named Blake.  He put in there that he has tried to do what everyone says and have feelings like a normal boy for a girl, but he just can't.  He will not talk to me or anyone else about it because he is scared of being judged.  He uses Kristen "his friend" as a front.  Please pray for him.  His self-esteem is beginning to lower again and he is feeling down on himself like he was before.  Please ask everyone you know to keep him in their prayers (without mentioning details).  Thanks!!

Thanks Pastor Roger.  I have been really busy enjoying what I though was a normal family life.  Thank you so much for keeping my family in your prayers.  I thought everything was going so good and then BAM - But God can take care of this for me and my son - I KNOW HE CAN!!!

Hello Sctami,

Your son is still in my prayers. I'm hoping and praying this is something he grows OUT of. Hopefully this is just a temporary setback.
