Woman And Child Die In Fire

A fire that started on the third floor of a five story building trapped a woman and child on the fourth floor. As the fire moved to the fourth floor it blocked the firemen from getting to the woman and her infant child she was holding close in her arms. The firemen pulled out one of those round nets they held up. When the woman came to the window with her child they yelled for her to hold the child tightly to her and jump saying they would catch her.

The woman instead turned back into the room that was already on fire and smoke coming out of the window she was just in. A few minutes later she returned to the window with her child still held tightly in her arms.

Again the firemen yelled for her to hold the child tight and to jump saying they would catch her. Instead she turned again back into the smoke and toward the fire.

A third time she returned to the window and this time even started to put one leg out. The firemen again yelled for her to hold the baby tight and to jump saying they would catch them. She then pulled her leg back in and turned back into the smoke toward the fire.

Later when the firemen got the fire put out they found the charred body of the woman with her child still in her arms.

This woman and her child died needlessly. It wasn't the firemen's fault. They had done all they could to put out the fire and to provide her a means to escape that fire. She made a wrong choice and that choice was hers. She failed to trust the firemen and headed instead straight into the fire.

This story reminds me of those that do not put their trust in God. They are headed straight into a fire. God has provided a means for you to escape that fire. All you need to do is to believe in Him, put your faith in Him. Will you turn and go into the fire or will you jump into His loving arms?

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
