Title: Lymphoma
Post by: Soldier4Christ on April 10, 2008, 03:07:34 PM
Jeremy is a 20 yr old friend of my son. We have known him since he was 11. He was just diagnosed with a form of lymphoma. Which type it is we don't know just yet. If it is the same as that which has hit his family before then it is a pretty fatal one. Please do carry him and his family in prayer.

Jeremy just got the results of the first tests. The cancer is T-Cell Lymphoma and is in the 3rd stage. Exactly what that means I don't know. They are now waiting for test results to see if it has entered the bone marrow or not. If it isn't in the marrow there is a better chance of getting the cancer under control.

Jeremy is in intensive care tonight. One of his lymph nodes has swollen from the lymphoma. The lymph node is pressing against his airway and has caused his airway to collapse.

Hello Pizza_Mahal,

We don't give out real names, full names, or real locations on the Internet because of all kinds of potential abuse and problems. This is the same reason why nobody should ever give out this personal information on a forum or any other Internet location. There's simply too many ways that criminals can take advantage of personal information these days.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Does he have salvation?

He has professed Christ as his Saviour quite a few years ago.

The Drs removed the air tubes today and inserted a trachea as the pressure from the tumour was causing the air tube to collapse also. He seems to be resting much better now.

Jeremy got to go home yesterday and he was told that if he continues to improve as he is doing that he can go back to work in about 5 weeks. He is still scheduled to go through chemotherapy several times each week.

Pastor Roger,

Brother, I'm very happy to hear about Jeremy being better. I realize there is still a struggle ahead with the chemotherapy, so I will pray that things go well. It always makes me sad to hear about people this young facing such deadly diseases, but it's also a blunt reminder about how uncertain and short this life can be. I'm 3 times the age of Jeremy, and I give thanks that I had good health most of my life. Most of all, I give thanks that I have belonged to CHRIST most of my life. I'll also pray that GOD works in and through Jeremy to help others during this difficult time. GOD can and does many times use HIS sick children in mighty ways, so you have an answer if someone asks you why GOD allows some of HIS children to suffer so much. It's for GOD'S GLORY and the possible Salvation of others.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Jeremy was just here for a visit so I thought that I would give an update on how he is doing. He has two more chemo treatments to go. His cancer is almost gone now. There is just small traces of it left that they think the next two treatments will take care of. He is back to working full time now. He said he put in 11 hr days the last two days and is feeling great.

He sends his thanks for all the prayers.

Jeremy was just admitted into the hospital tonight. He lost the vision in his right eye. They are saying that the optical nerve is swollen. They put him through an MRI but it didn't show anything yet. They are keeping him there so they can run some more tests on him in order to find out what is going on.

He just had his last chemo therapy last week and there was no sign of the Lymphoma as of that time.

Jeremy will remain in my prayers. I'll be praying this is just a temporary complication - maybe from the chemo.

Jeremy was released from the hospital today. I don't have complete details yet but it was said that the problem was due to his cancer. They gave him a steroid shot directly into his eye and his vision is starting to return already. They did say the Drs think that he will regain full vision.

We just received some pretty bad news. Jeremy is back in the hospital and there is signs that the cancer has entered into his brain. They are running further tests right now. They have already done a spinal tap and the results of that is not good. Please do hold the family in special prayer.

Jeremy went through 8 hrs of chemotherapy yesterday. He has lost complete sight in his right eye now. The Drs are still not sure if the cancer has entered his brain or not but the tests so far are pointing in that direction. He has a lot to go through yet. He is a very determined, strong young man both physically and spiritually.

Final tests today have shown that there is no cancer in his brain, spine of bone marrow. There is still a problem with his eye that is cancer related. The Drs remain positive that they can still get the cancer into complete remission.

Brother Roger,

Thanks for the great and encouraging news about Jeremy. He and his family will remain in our prayers. When we think about our problems, we should remember Jeremy first. The most effective chemotherapy is very hard on a human  being, even a young and strong human being. I couldn't help but think about another young and strong man I watched go through this. They are very pleasant memories - he is HOME with the LORD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

I know I haven't been keeping anyone up to date on Jeremy for quite sometime. He seemed to be doing so well. We just got word that Jeremy had a turn for the worse today and was put on a ventilator. He had a bone marrow transplant this week but it didn't help, he went home about an hour ago. His mother doesn't know about it yet. We will be getting with the family shortly.

Yes, I'm sorry that I wasn't more clear. He is with the Lord now.

We spoke with the family for a short period last night. They had to go to St Louis then in order to claim the body and make arrangements to get him home. With the weather as it is it looks like they may be there a while.

Hello Pastor Roger,

Brother, this family will be in my prayers. I'm very sad to hear about this, but GOD knows best. As Christians, we can take heart in knowing that we will all be HOME soon. Our life and perfection is in CHRIST. We LIVE because CHRIST LIVES and know that GOD will finish the good work HE began in us. Absent from the body, present with the LORD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 23:1-6

1  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

2 Corinthians 5:1-9 NLT  1  For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down-when we die and leave these bodies-we will have a home in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.  2  We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.  3  For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies.  4  Our dying bodies make us groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and have no bodies at all. We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life.  5  God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.  6  So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord.  7  That is why we live by believing and not by seeing.  8  Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.  9  So our aim is to please him always, whether we are here in this body or away from this body.

1 Corinthians 15:53-58 NLT  53  For our perishable earthly bodies must be transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die.  54  When this happens-when our perishable earthly bodies have been transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die-then at last the Scriptures will come true: "Death is swallowed up in victory.  55  O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"  56  For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.  57  How we thank God, who gives us victory over sin and death through Jesus Christ our Lord!  58  So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and steady, always enthusiastic about the Lord's work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
