Title: Some needs in my community
Post by: Willowbirch on November 02, 2003, 07:51:36 AM
There are some families in our church/neighborhood who are going through tough times right now, and I thought I could mention them here if anyone would like to pray.

Ann and Frank; I am not certain what disease Frank has, but it is supposedly incurable, and it affects his lungs. He has to wear an oxygen tube constantly. Although his last test report said that he "hadn't gotten worse" - for him, this is almost as good as if it had said he was getting better, since this has been a downhill struggle. His joy is indescribable, he is a wonderful witness of Christ even in this desperate situation. I asked him if he needed specific prayer, and he said to keep his wife, Ann, uplifted.

Bill (and family): Bill began having difficulty with his eyes; he went in for testing and discovered he has multiple sclerosis. They are trying to find treatment now.

Gwen: She has gone through several rounds of chemo, and it seems that her cancer is in remission, but she needs strength.

Netta: I have not been able to get in touch with her recently, but she was suffering from depression, and tried to commit suicide.

Asking blessings on the names mentioned here and all who are praying for them.  Please Father comfort each one, with your unimaginable love keep them and touch each life according to your divine plan.  I ask for healing if it be your will and for Netta please touch her with your presence in her thoughts so that she may think better.  Put the right persons in her path to help her.  In the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Also,

Sandy (and family): She has been battling cancer for years, and is getting worse. She is now in the hospital, having declined greatly in the past few weeks. She is spiritually strong and joyful despite this.

Done. Also, if Netta needs to talk about her depression, have her come here. I can probably help.

I really appreciate that, Whitehorse, and I know Netta would. She doesn't get online but thanks so much for offering!

Sandy went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 2nd, after returning home from the hospital. She maintained an outlook of graciousness and patience, and was a wonderful example of Christ's joy in the midst of pain. Her daughter is from the same mold, and shows more love to those around her than we could possibly respond to. She is not afraid to weep, but she can laugh as well. I have not been able to see Sandy's husband yet.

Thanks to all who prayed for her; if you can, please continue to keep her earthly family uplifted.

~Joy

I'm glad to hear she finished the race well. I'll pray for her family. And God bless you for caring enough to find support for her.
