Title: Email Program Poll Question
Post by: nChrist on June 27, 2007, 11:17:37 PM
Which email program do you use most of the time and why? Examples:  speed, ease of use, number of functions, privacy, security, etc. If you marked "Other", please tell us which email program you use and why.

I use Thunderbird for the same reason that I use Firefox. It is faster, more stable, and secure. I haven't had any problems with it since I've gotten it.

I first tried Thunderbird when I started using Firefox since it's really a companion program designed to work with Firefox. I didn't change over to Thunderbird immediately because I just didn't like it. Many things changed as Thunderbird became more mature, and I tried it again. I kept it the second time around and still use it. Thunderbird is pretty plain, simple, and fast, but many new features are now available with themes for appearance and extensions for additional functions.

Recent versions of Thunderbird have pretty strong spam filtering and fraud protection. Just about everything you can dream of is now available for Thunderbird, including calendar functions, scheduling, personal information manager, news reader, and much more. I must add that Thunderbird is still simple, fast, and problem free in my opinion. Did I say that it's all FREE?
