Title: Opting out of certain topics...how to Post by: Debp on April 09, 2007, 07:00:28 PM I just wondered how to do this.....as I usually just click on check new replies to my posts. I am getting a little too many topics and wanted to reduce them a bit. Thanks for any help.

For threads you have started you can click on the modify button of your first post in that thread then remove the check mark from the Notify box.
In your profile click on "Notifications and Email" in the left column. Then check or uncheck the boxes according to what you want and you can also select which topics or boards you want or don't want. This has no affect on the "Show new replies to your posts." function though which I don't believe there is anyway to change that section. There are really many different answers to this question. The forum software is very powerful, and there are many options that can be set by each user. A number of various options can be set from your profile, and you can also make individual settings for each area of the board if you really want to. If you are simply wanting to reduce the number of email notifications you get for threads you are involved in, just delete an email notification of a thread you no longer want notices for. Clicking the email notification you get for new posts in a particular thread tells the system that you are still active in that thread. The opposite is true for deleting the notice. I really think that this is the best way to handle this. I don't recommend that someone make different notification configurations for various portions of the forum. You can do this, but it might get confusing. Love In Christ, Tom |
